back to sale. RULE : never trust a 16 year old ! also i feel very bad that i live in a society where appearances matter more than quality, i guarantee(!!) that the scratch /crack will never affect the playability/ setup/sound or whatever

New pictures but still no brass nut and truss rod cover? This is potentially the bargain of the century but there seems to be several unknowns about it. Have you had a luthier check the neck to make sure the crack is and will remain cosmetic? And are you able to take a photo with the brass nut and TRC?

I live in Leamington, have £750 to spare and am very interested, but have a rather busy schedule and a lack of vehicle that will make getting to Coventry difficult so id rather all the I's dotted and T's crossed beforehand.

Ok , i really need to say and do this, i tried to be as honest as possible, and yes i know it sounds like a very strange situation, im far in northern europe the bass is in coventry etc. and it has this cursed scratch on the neck, what im trying to say is that im not sure if i want to sell it anymore (at least for this price) , even tough i was pretty sure i want to sell it and i had at least 10 offers im very honest when i say that im dissapointed how half of the people that contacted me , spoke to me like i was a scammer (arrogant?) or like im a gypsy in a market tryin to sell some stolen goods (im not racist or anything ) also many people said that oh warwicks are going cheap and also yours has a problem, yes very true but at the same time i ask myself why should i get through all these useless discussion when i was very honest, and as i said, my bass can provide the same sound, action, feel, as a brand new streamer which is double in price, im not sure how many vintage streamers can be found for this price. i hope i dont sound paranoid or anything like that but i feel like i have to express my frustration somehow :D . so yes from now on i don t take any more offers in consideration. Thank you

IMHO the problem is likely down to the use of the word 'scratch', which means different things to different people, in different countries. I would say that the 'scratch' is IMHO, a 'crack' and no matter how small it will be, it will be a worry unless it is seen in the flesh by a potential buyer and then possibly professionally assessed. ;)

Simply saying this in order that the OP realises why some folks might be concerned... inc me! :D

Well mr. Oldman i d say that more than 2 months and around 10-12 offers it s more than enough time :) and im sure that it was obvious from the beginning that i was desperate to sell it :)
Warwickhunt, i think i ve cleary specified in the description that i understand that thats a big issue and thats why i was opened to negotiations and a small price, as someone said this could be a huge bargain, well take the risk, coventry is situated more or less in the middle of england it s not that hard and expensive to go and take a look and who knows maybe you get an almost perfect bass for a good price.
I apologise if i started a discussion that might be inappropriate for basschat but as i said i had to get it out somehow

Woah, keep calm. I think the thing is that its a good price but not so good you would take a risk without seeing it, warwickhunt has sold me a ss1 for less in the past and he had his advert up for about 8 montha before I found the money. Considering the scratch/crack is just behind the nut (ie one end of the truss, and in a similar place i hope you understand folks hesitancy. I dunno about other folk but coventry is over 100 miles away from me and not a cheap trip. you stuck an ad up and got 10 responces, that's ten more than. Ive got for a bass with no issues!
