EBS_freak Posted March 2, 2021 Author Posted March 2, 2021 Its a beautiful looking bass - and looks to be in great condition too! It's a post Bernie bass, there's a few indicators - the logo, the standard 3d Schaller bridge and the lack of metal knob surround. 1 Quote

Others may know better than me but I think it depends on when it was built so it may be a Bernie with Lowden or from a time after they parted ways. Either way, it's lovely. Th😊nks guys. sgh Posted April 29, 2021 Posted April 29, 2021 (edited) My chances are slim I know but is anyone looking to part with their GB Rumour (preferably with Sound to Light system) 4 string? Rarer than hens teeth, I know! Edited April 29, 2021 by sgh Spelling Quote
TheGreek Posted April 29, 2021 Posted April 29, 2021 I stupidly sold mine in one of my "Downsizing phases". I rarely keep the money...end up buying less good basses. I think I sell too cheap. 1 Quote

Rarer than hens teeth, I know! Bernie has had a white one on his site for some time. I'm not sure it is still for sale, but might be worth giving him a call if you're interested. Not cheap, mind you. https://www.gb-guitars.co.uk/sale/ PM me if you need his mobile number. 1 Quote

sgh Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 Saw Bernie the other day about a Rumour 4 I am interested in and saw these 2 lovely demo 5 strings which I believe Bernie would be willing to sell: Spitfire 5 string: Rumour 5 string: 3 Quote
TheGreek Posted May 8, 2021 Posted May 8, 2021 (edited) OMG!!! That Rumour 5er looks amazing - should never have sold my 4 string... Bernie's logo shows exactly the shape a bass should be Edited May 8, 2021 by TheGreek 2 Quote

tubbybloke68 Posted March 20 Posted March 20 Just got my recently acquired spitfire 5 back from a general make over, new nut, fret dress etc. Absolutely chuffed! A lovely few hours spent with Bernie and Jim down at the Brighton basement. Great guys! X 6 Quote
EBS_freak Posted March 21 Author Posted March 21 I remember this one being born - such a beautiful top! Love it. 1 Quote
HeadlessBassist Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I'm a late-comer to the GB family, but had a long term loan of one of the early Goodfellow Standards back in the early 90's while my Status neck was being repaired. Acquired this early model 1988 Spitfire a couple of weeks ago in a trade at Bass Bros. I think I got the better end of the deal. The tonal punch is anvil-like and it's such a lovely thing to play and hear. Definitely my kind of bass. Quote
