Sheldon you don't often get a word of critisicm from me on any of your work but I have looked at the way these Super P headstocks are going and... I can't take it anymore!! :D

I have to say your original design (no matter how expensive or time consuming it is to achieve) was the best in my views, you rendered a very arty solution, now you are taking it back form us with corner cutting options that are imho not worthy of the original.

Exhibits A / B / C

How can anything be better than that, I ask...

The second variant which appeared on Dave Swift's headstock (which is the inlay without the scalloped section) I can just about see it fitting within the design

But this I am not a fan of:

People of Basschat, support please! :)

Which one do you think looks better?

1) original scooped / etched

or

2) Modern plastic plate.

100% the simple engraved version.

The problem is that the engraving is too subtle. From a distance it disappears.

...and I personally reckon it looks much nicer for it!

Leaks into the wood Nd looks messy. Silk screen would work but might look cheap.

My 2p: Have the 'D' logo bigger and in place of the 'Super P' and have 'Super P' smaller and on a plastic disc where the 'D' logo is! Which is more important? :D
