Shuker Satinline SOLD

now this bass is bloody gorgeous & yes i think i am mad to even consider moving it on but that's just me :)
construction is second to none & being the original pre-production item it is actually a full on hand crafted Shuker custom build bass (i.e. no pre made parts assembled)
the body is swap ash finished in "Tiger Amber" which is a satin transparent amber laquer over black grain fill, it's bloody lovely too & has a much nicer grain than the production models seem to have.
the neck is the usual maple with maple fretboard, both woodwork & fretwork are absolute perfection.
hardware is slightly different to a standard one with light weight Schaller machine heads instead of the stock clover leaf items (i think they suit the bass better) & the bridge is also different, although i confess to having no idea as to what it is.
the pickups look like the usual Jazz bass single coils's but are infact Shuker custom stacked humbuckers & sweet sounding they are too.
also the bass has being marked with a pre-production serial number by mr Shuker to proove it is what it is.
overall the bass is very light weight at only 7 lbs on my bathroom scales(much lighter than my U.S Fender P) plays & sounds very nicely indeed.
setup is mega, curretly with Ernie Ball flatwounds but i'll happily fit the rounds that came on it if you prefer.

the only reason for me moving it on are that i nearly always use my P bass as it just fits my current band better (i.e. old farts playing old farts music).

ok i'm not wanting trades anymore i'm afraid as my keen GAS radar has locked onto another "must buy" item,so i'm in cash raising mode.
straight sale price is now
£650.00 for the bass alone
or
£700.00 with a new Hiscox hard case

cheers.
p.s. i'd rather not post it if at all possible but will meet up somewhere.

EDIT: Shuker Satinline info'
the Satinline basses are the result of a collaboration between Jon Shuker & high end bass retailer BassGear.
they are produced in batches & sold through BassGear only as "off the shelf" i.e. ready built & in stock.
as stated this bass is the pre-production prototype, the very first one ever built & has the correct serial number marked to proove the fact.
cheers for reading
Neil.

I'm still very interested but need to sell my Fender Jazz USA first. Sounds just what I'm looking for.

i agree it's a very important factor with any instrument & this little beauty feels incredible to me,much nicer than my USA P bass to be honest.
it really is worth the drive up,i could always meet you on the motorway somewhere.
Torn between this and a Marcus Miller Jazz

I think I had a play on this when I bought a purple chili cab from Bassgear a few months ago.
hi,i'm pretty shure it was this bass,i bought it march or april (old age can't bloody remember,it all blurs you know) so if it was before then it certainly was this 'ere bass.
i have to say it plays much much better now i've set it up properly,i thought the setup was bloody awful when it tried it there.
you're more than welcome to have a try on it now.
cheers.

p.s. Marcus who ? :)
