Just look at that headstock, it doesn't look right to me...

Woa..the custom body decal is way to close to the name, could this be a factory error? or someone's foolish attempt at applying a decal? *shrugs*

Would have fooled me, I never buy Fender's off ebay..I can't trust them, so probs...but others make up from squiers.

I'm no expert on the Fender bit but it doesn't look too bad, I've seen enough crappy copies to think it isn't a screamer. WoT or some other Fender head could probably give pointers or Beedster has owned enough Fenders to have an idea At least the guy is giving his phone number etc and offering to let the buyer collect... all good points. If you were interested and lived local I'd suggest a quick call and make a daft cash offer!

Looks a perfectly good Jap re issue to me, trust me, ive seen plenty. The "contour body" decal was put [u]very[/u] close on the Jap re issues.




It moved to the end of the stock around 1964. This looks a lovely Jap re issue, I would have no reservations is bidding.

Warwickhunt is quite right, the bidder is giving every flexibility in collection so that indicates to me he has nothing to hide.

If in doubt, ask him to email you a pic of the neck heel, where it should say "Crafted in Japan" along with a SN.

All in all, not a scam in my opinion.

First one looks absolutely fine to me. Good example of Japanese reissue. Last one 'looks' fine again, for a Mexican, but I agree with Tauzero in that a few more pics would help the sale.

Actually, there IS something that he doesn't mention - Pic one shows a toggle switch and pic 4 shows different knobs that could indicate fitting of a preamp (pics are too small to make out). Just surprised it doesn't feature in the text....
