I know where you are coming from:lol: Comodores have frets on the bass in the video - of course that might not be what was used on the recording. Yes you are correct, Pino Pallidino did the recording though I did not see him in the video... he seemed to be on everything in the 80's. ..but an octaver, reverb and chorus you think? If so I guess they are up to OC-7 by now ... is it like the delays units, some of the older OC are different sounding to later versions? Kiwi Posted October 26, 2010 Share Posted October 26, 2010 It sounds to me like a bass set on the bridge pickup but the bridge pickup is very close to the bridge. It also has a hard fingerboard of some description and super low action with the pickups set close to the strings. That set up in combination would give the prominent mid range. Effects wise - heavy compression, a little analogue chorus and some selective eq on the treble with a parametric equaliser to take out the string noise. But its mostly the bass. There's some delay used but its very selective according to sections of the song and would be difficult to emulate on stage unless you were standing with your foot on the select button and could guarantee you could make the delay to the tempo played by your band. Recently walked into a (fairly) local music shop looking for an analogue chorus and a mate of the guy who was working there had an OC2 for sale. I think it's an accurate description of the transaction to say that I bit his hand off. Simply the BEST chorus pedal I've ever use. Ever. Not letting this one go. The mode button on the far RH side of the OC-3 has an OCT 2 position that sticks the whole thing into OC-2 mode.
