*** BASS IS NOW SOLD ***

With much regret, it is time to sell my Fender CIJ 62 Reissue Precision Bass.

I bought this back in October 2009 from Basschat member Simon (Oldgit) - I think it is a 1993-94 model from the Guitar Dater Project website.

I wasn't happy with the light basswood body so I replaced it with a Fender USA 62 Reissue 2008 alder body which although slightly heavier, added a certain clarity to notes. The body is as new & unmarked except for a small dimple near the front horn strap button as highlighted in last pic below.

Fender USA 62 Reissue 2008 alder body

Badass II bridge

Nordstrand NP4 Pickup

Hipshot D-Tuner

CTS solid shaft pots, Switchcraft jack socket and Sprague Orange Drop .047mf capacitor.

Gotoh vintage reverse wind machine heads

Original Fender chunky 3 ply Tortoiseshell Pickguard

Pickup and control cavity screened with copper tape and vintage braided cable used.

Weight: 9lbs 6oz

I added the new Fender pickguard as I wasn't that keen on the original pinky coloured thin version. Whilst doing this I also screened the pickup and control cavity with copper shielding tape. Straplocks fitted and strap fittings included in sale.

So probably well over £500 of refinements made!

More information and lots of pics HERE

Bass plays and sounds great just as it should, very growly and typical thick fat Precision woody tones. Medium action and the neck is beautifully comfortable with a nice dark rosewood fretboard.

Small amount of mojo on the headstock. The laquer cracked slightly when fitting the D-Tuner as shown in the second to last pic.

Will come with with brand new Elite Bass strings 45-105 and gig bag plus the remaining spare Gotoh machine head for the E string.

I am based near Horsham, West Sussex which is about 25 minutes away from Gatwick Airport.

Looking for £475.00 plus £25.00 shipping within Mainland UK.

No Trades.

Is there a B or C neck on that beauty?

Hi - from my limited knowledge I'd say it is a B neck - if that is the less chunky one!

Fairly narrow at the nut @ 42mm and feels flatter than my 76 Jazz neck in depth. Just roughly measured neck depth at the 8th fret and it is approximately 20mm deep. My Jazz looks about 22m deep at the same point.

I was chuffed when I got it as being a P bass I thought the neck would be too chunky for me but is less chunky than my favourite Jazz.

Hope this helps!
