1. Could we see some pictures with the nut visible please??!!
2. I have a 15" cab from the legendary walkabout combo that I'm looking to sell. To clarify, this is the actual combo with the head removed, not an extension cab or anything like that. It's been used but it's in pretty decent condition, see photos below. The leather on the bottom of the handle is split (this can be seen in the photo), but this does not effect the strength of the handle as the top part, which has a metal strip reinforcing it, is the bit which takes the weight. Mesa cover included. I don't really need to say much else do I? If you're reading this, then you know what this is. And these things really are as good as they say! I'm looking for about £400. I'm based in Lincoln, and cash on collection would be ideal, you can even try it out (and compare it to my 12" combo if you're interested). If you really want me to post it, then I suppose I can, but would rather not! Sorry, I'm not going to do anything international. Cash or paypal only. Thanks for looking. 4. Is this still here? That must be a record for one of these!! Someone please buy it. I've only recently bought the 15 version, and it's so good I'm considering buying this as well!! Please remove the temptation! And don't let the handles put you off, I'm seriously considering doing the same to mine. GLWTS and all that.
5. Was running it through an aguilar GS112NT or a barefaced super 12 (2x12) when I used it. Even just through the 1 12, it's loud enough for me; but then, although our drummer makes some serious noise, I'm always telling our guitarist to turn his amp up (unusual, I know, but he's not your average guitarist!!).
6. Hi Jack I can't imagine it would be huge amount, depends if you wanted insurance etc. It weighs about 3kg so you're welcome to look up quotes and that. I'm sure 10 or 20 quid would cover it. Alternatively, I've got people coming over, early november, from both Bath and Chester, so they could take it back with them and you could collect it from there if that works?
7. Thanks Peter. This one is now ON HOLD.
8. Little Mark II Amp head. Great little workhorse head, bought on here a few years ago, but mainly used as a spare. Has been totally reliable and never given the slightest trouble when I've used it for gigs or practices. I accidentally bought a walkabout combo, so probably need to sell this. It's in good condition, a couple of cosmetic scratches etc. Specs etc here if you need them: http://www.markbass....etail.php?id=69 Can be collected from Lincoln, but it may be possible to persuade me to post it at your cost and risk. 9. I have a GS112NT cab for sale. This is the no tweeter version, 8 ohm, 300 watt. I bought it on here from Richardd, almost exactly 2 years ago, and it's served me well, but I've just bought a walkabout combo so it has to go!! Beautiful sound, with a focus on the lows. Good condition. Can be collected from Lincoln.
10. That is nice! Is the neck normal unlined fretless styley, i.e. fret dots on the side at the fret positions (i.e. not between frets like a fretted neck)? I'm sure I could have put that more clearly!
11.
If you click on the seller's profile, you'll see the location ('east mids' in this case...). Hope this helps...
Not really!!! Where in the East Midlands are you?!
12. By way of an update and in case anyone else is researching this in the future, I received some very helpful advice from Jon at JP Guitars - see email below. I've gone with Jon's recommendation of the 'pure bass' pup. Excellent customer service from Jon. Dear Rob Yes, this would certainly be an option if you want an externally mounted pickup. It has a pretty even response across a wide frequency range. As it is fitted under the feet of the bridge, it is loaded by the string pressure which means that it produces pretty much the maximum gain for a passive system – and it can be driven to relatively high levels before feedback. It’s pretty thin, so doesn’t make much difference to string action. If you want a less obtrusive system, though, K&K also have a specialist acoustic bass system, called the Pure Bass: http://www.jp-guitars.co.uk/sales/pickups_and_amplification/kandk_bass_pickups.htm#Pure_Bass_acoustic_4-string_bass_tenor This mounts inside the guitar, and uses a Switchcraft strapjack mounted through the endblock. This can be more reliable for gigging than an externally mounted jack socket, and is also more precisely tailored to the demands of a bass (though it is also used on tenor guitars, where it can tame an excessively bright top end). Best wishes Jon
