1. Hi All, I have a Warwick Rockbass Streamer Standard V, in Translucent Red. Near mint condition, paid over £300.00 for it, but being a newbie bass player I can just about manage 4 strings let alone 5. And for some reason I expected it to be a high C as opposed to a low B, and just cant get on with it. So in short it’s of no use to me whatsoever. Reduced to £180.00 ono Cheers
2. Hi OB, I got mine off of ebay from this guy in the USA, thomasldh copy his name and paste it into ebay. I first saw these about 18 months ago and had to have one!! for the look alone.... I should point out that I am not really a bassist and I only started playing 2 years ago (wife said it was a mid life crisis) so anything I put round my neck feels like a scaffold board!!! but for looks I would rather have the Aerodyne round my neck than my USA Precision. Would be happy for you to have a bash on it if your ever in Watford.
3. More to the point if you did have a spare £250K for a guitar......... would you really be looking on the Bay to but it?
4.
MB1. Good Job! you didnt ask him for the shirt off his back then!
One too many beers that night..... only just able to stand when I asked him for it......lol I was convinced I was getting the Fender at the end of the gig though when he came over to us............... and then handed me the plectrum. Really enjoyed from the jam the other night, but there was something lacking................ Weller!!!
5. It looks like the same P bass he used whilst he was with SLF.........off to see them at the forum on the 19th which is where he gave me his plectrum after I asked him for His Fender....
6. Hi All, I am in the market for a Fender Jazz, should all the MIA's have strung through bodies? Cheers
7. If it has made its way to the ebay links, and it is something you are specifically after, the chances are you have already seen it on ebay. I check the for sale section quite often, if for nothing else just to browse at what other BC’ers are selling. I always look at the ebay link, just to see what is on offer, but I have never thought “oh wow look at that bargain I am going to buy it for the sake that its cheap”. And I doubt that there are many people that would, unless it was a little old lady selling her husbands all original 1962 MIA P Bass for £25.00… However if it is something specific like a MIJ Jazz that you are after the chances are you have already entered Fender Jazz or Fender Jazz Bass into the search bar of ebay and have already seen whats on offer. As several members have stated “BC is a community” so as a community if I see a bargain Ampeg V4B with 2 hours to go at £100.00 should I keep it to myself just on the off chance another BC member has also spotted it and wants to bag a bargain? Or as a member of that same community should I pass on said bargain to other members?
8. and whats worse is that in a few months it will be back on there as an original Fender with a buy it now of £1200.00
9. I think we should all bid on it and get it upto about £10,000 he will think christmas has come early......

12.
I think BFM has probably covered that one.
BFM?
13.
Both pulled, they are on the ball for some things at least.
I sent the bay an email saying that the same one that sold in US last week was being sold again by 2 seperate people???? and that perhaps they should look into it
14. And here we have yet another, looks like Leo must have had a stash of these that someone has found and decided to flog the lot on the bay...... 15. Looks like that buyer collects MM Subs..... check his last 2 buys
16. Just to add my bit....... I do not think this was a shill bid... Bidder 9 was actually the leading bidder untill 30 minutes of the auction ending. and the guy who won the item bid again with 30 minutes to go, just my opinion on this one...... Oh and insult to injury......... it sold on the bay tonight for £409.89............... I'll pluck an example out at random http://offer.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?V...=STRK:MEWA:BIDN Here's a private listing/hidden ID sale that ended today. Please note that bidder #9 places a bid at just below certain thresholds, now ask yourself this! If you 'genuinely' wanted to buy that bass (which I would have had I an account) then would you place a bid £1 or £10 below a given threshold? Be honest if you did want it you'd at least bid a straight £800 and the wise ebayer would stick a £ or two onto that. Decidedly odd to say the least that bidder #9 actually bid a measly couple of quid (euro) less than amounts that you or I would identify as crucial amounts... or am I just a little jaded? Who knows
17. So can someone answer why my ampeg svt3 pro has only 1 speakon output but 2 1/4" jacks???
18. Why would you want to buy anything from there in the first place, unless you have more money than you know what to do with?
19. Hey Sparky, if you want new stuff, try here http://www.thomann.de/gb/2x10_bass_cabinets.html
20. HI Ob, So would the ashly pre-amp give any benefit being attached to the Ampeg, or am I better off just sticking with the Ampeg on it own? Cheers Gary
21. my mate has a 20+ year old hiscox that was held together with 1 hinge and 1 clasp, so went to the Hiscox factory with his case and they went to town on it a gave it back as good as new. Lifetime warranty honoured....... send yours back to them..
my fender moulded logo case has lasted 4 years now and is good as new. my hiscox case lasted about a year and fell apart. both did the same tours and shows in that year. however, the hiscox provides a lot more protection (when its in one piece).
22. Hi OB, Yes it is a twin channel, but for the purpose of testing it I was just using one channel (it is connected to the ashly via the ashly crossover which is 1 high and 1 low) but i did alternate between the 2. both amps were going to a Trace 4 x 10 300w 8ohm cab. Errrrr bridged mode???? will pass on that one(psssst whats bridged mode?) what is more amazing than anything else though, is when I read back this reply to myself, it makes me sound like I know what I am talking about (apart from the bridge mode bit) where as in reality even though I have written it, it makes as much sense to me as the bridge mode bit. I should have also said I bought the whole trace rig (cabs, amp and preamp) from a friend who left it set up for me so that I just had to plug the bass in and play. he even wrote on the XLR's for me so I knew which lead to plug into the 2 x 10 and which to plug into the 4 x 10
Firstly how are you operating the Trace power amp. I believe it's a 2-channel device. - Are you just using just one channel? - Do you have each channel connected to separate speaker cabinet and if so what impedance are they? - Are you running it in bridged mode and if so what cab are you driving and what impedance is it? A pre-amplifier provides the inital amplification stages to raise the instrument output (a few millivolts) up to a voltage level suitable for driving a power amplifier - in your case the Trace RA-300. Pre-amps also have tone shaping circuits and sometimes a compressor, a direct output stage for sending a balanced line signal to a mixing desk, etc. The Ampeg is a complete system and includes a pre-amp and a power amp. You could use the Ashly with the Ampeg power-amp stage by connecting it into the effects return jack. You might be able to connect it to the input of the Ampeg as long as you set the levels accordingly. Controls are not linear and half way up on one piece of equipment is not necessarily half way up on another so your comparison is not really valid As previously said the Ashly is a pre-amp and only serves to increase the signal level. It has no effect on output power. The only true comparison is to run both amps into the same dummy load, monitor the outpout on an oscilloscope and measure the voltage at the point where the signal starts to clip. That would give you a comparison of output power. Any other differences are down to settings and internal levels in the two amps being different.
