1. Hi All, [AL] is a great bloke to deal with, Very friendly and would recommend anyone to deal with him. Nice meeting you Al Cheers Gary (Im sure the wife would never notice a six foot high stack in the lounge! and if she does just tell her its a coat rack )
 2. Might see this go up for sale again, buyer has a very low feedback score..
 3. On a serious note, Could the guy you deal with at Wal service not give you a ball park figure of its value?
 4.
I remember I paid £250 in 1989 though (was two weeks wages then!)
If we say depreciation @£10.00 per year, 20 x £10.00 = £200.00 so if I give you £50.00 for the bass and £20.00 for the case I’ll collect tomorrow? (worth a try!!!)
 5. Should have started this in the Bass PORN section, and charged everyone 50p to veiw the thread, would have made nearly £1300.00 so far
 6.
then presumably you simply wouldn't buy or be interested in a ticket Mr Pedantic. Or perhaps it *is* your desire to single handedly scupper any gentlemanly attempt to get around the legal issues? Personally I thought Bass Chat forum members were above that.
I think he might have been having a little Joke!
 7. Why cant you have a Prize Draw? you get your 100 people to pay a tenner, set a question on the forum, those 100 people give thier answer, put all names and correct answers into the hat, and pick one at random. and the prize for the correct answer is........ your warwick? thats not a Lottery or a Raffle
 8.
Most of the legends are "also rans" Ed Poole anyone?
I Know Ed very well, top bloke, great bass player
 9. And this is mine which I purchased ooooh way back when 198? from Hammonds in Watford, a guy named Ed Poole worked in the guitar dept and convinced me to buy it (20 years before I could even play) I hold him totally Responsible for my never ending gas!!! Mine is near mint having spent most of the past 20ish years in a hard case!
 10.
Nice woofers! How heavy is the 2x10, and how is it as a standalone cab?
Will get the scales out later and tell you, but as with all trace gear its gonna be heavy compared to other cabs. It has never been used as a standalone (by me anyway) because it is a stereo amp I use the 2 x 10 with either the 1 x 15 or the 4 x 10 cheers
 11. Just for you MB But dont show no one else!
MB1. With or without Pammy?
12. Well despite my best efforts of luring you in with the Pammy pics, I have had lots of views but little interest. So anyone know roughly what would be a realistic price for this little lot on e-bay? Thanks Gary
 13.
If the price for the 15 on its own is good, I'd probably be quite interested ... only if you'd be prepared to courier it though. Rich
Not even sure where to begin with couriers. But would have thought it would cost a few quid! where abouts are you?
 14.
Speaking of price, How much are these puppies?
Not really sure to be honest, which is why I was asking what they are worth. But was thinking along the lines of £550.00ish?
 15. Hi Dave, Yes these are still for sale. I would rather try to sell them both together if I can, But might consider a split if the price is right! Give us a shout back if your interested. Cheers Gary
Hi there, are these items still for sale, if so, would you consider splitting them? I'd be interested in the Head. Thanks DC
16.
MB1. Im actually looking for a bigger Top!
17.
Back on the subject of the 2x10 I've checked through all the brochures dating back to the MkV and there's no mention of it. The XLR sockets also look like the pre-amps and amps of the Mk4 era. So it's either pre-1987 cab or a later custom made one. I'd probably guess at the former though.
Hi Trace, Yep got an email from Trace, and they said it would have been about mid 80's for the 2 x 10, and between 89-93 for the 4 x 10
 18. Lets see if this new pic adds any interest
 19. Does this qualify??? And how do I get the picture full screen rather than thumbnail size like the rest of you? [attachment=15476:Picture_002.jpg
 20. Just had an email back from Trace Elliot. They told me that the 1048 were made between 1989 and 1993, and the 1028 would have been around mid 80's. And here is a pic of the whole rig
 21. I have done a bit of searching and come up with this link http://www.trace-elliot.co.uk/support_3.ph...g=GB&lan=UK go down to the Discontinued Product Catalogues bit and have a look at the heading "speaker cabinets" the 1048 cab says 1992. The guy I brought the rig from said he brought it new about mid 90's. Maybe he meant early 90's? Maybe I should edit the date untill someone can confirm what year they would be from?
Thanks for that. Maybe it was one of the first 2x10s they did? (- ah, doubtful; mid 90s) Very interesting either way.
22. And replied. cheers
PM'd!
23. It is half the size of the 4 x 10, 300w 8ohm circa mid 90's. It is an original cab made by Trace, and not a cut down 4 x 10, I have inc a pic of the rear showing serial and model number, also inc one showing the flight case for it. Not sure what else I can tell you other than that though, I am sure there is a Trace boffin out there that can give us more info.
That 2x10 looks a very interesting little beast; I've not seen one that size/spec before. Could you give more details? Looks more like half a 4x10 than any Trace 2x10 I've ever seen. FWIW I love the old pre-Kevlar Trace cabs; I've yet to pay anything I like as much. If only someone would reproduce them in a 45lb package!
24. Hi All, After getting the news that we have our visa for Australia, its feeler time for some bass bits. I am after a bit of advice on their worth to start with, (to save transporting them half way around the world) 1 x Ampeg svt3 pro 450w Flight cased 1 x SVT 15EN 1 x 15 cab both St Louis made. Apart from the scratch under the graphic, (see pic)the head is mint. The cab has battle scars, but they do not affect it's performance. Again looking for advice on their value, before I decide what to do. Cheers Gary
 25. Hi All, After getting the news that we have our visa for Australia, its feeler time for some bass bits. I am after a bit of advice on their worth to start with, (to save transporting them half way around the world) so if any one is up to date-ish on what 2nd hand Trace gear goes for, I would appreciate any advice. Trace rig comprising of the following. 1 x Trace Elliot RA300 stereo power amp 1 x Ashley BP41 pre amp Both the above are in a heavy duty 3u flight case 1 x Trace 1048 (4 x 10)300w cab 1 x Trace 1028 (2 x 10)300w cab with heavy duty flight case ( you can just see the top of the flight case in the pic) 1 x Trace 1518 (1 x 15)300w cab The 1048 was made between 1989-1993 the 1028 would have been mid 80's According to those nice people at Trace (you know the ones with the red stripes and tolex type material) All with battle scars, (but these do not affect their performance in any way) = 1 Very loud rig....... cheers Gary NEW PICS ADDED TO GENERATE A BIT MORE INTEREST!!! (PAMMY NOT INCLUDED)
