1. It's really quite embarassing when it's one of your own originals....
 2. I have straps from 1978 that are still useable.
 3.
this has been done before several times, here's one http://basschat.co.u..._hl__stranglers has anybody heard him getting THE sound live? always sounded too trebley to me compared to the 1st album
Lack of studio compression.

 5.
I've got the duo it makes some really gnarly sounds.
Especially if you feed it through a ring modulator and half a dozen overdrive pedals...
 6. I'm a great fan of the Monotrons, less so the Duo,but it's fair to say my electronic output is not exactly musical...BTW,if you're paying £40 you're paying too much,£34 seems to be the going rate now.I've spent far too long trying to get all singing all dancing mega complex synths to go bleep, something simple is far more creative.
 7. So,never in 22 years is ok then?
 8.
I'd leave it the f*** alone then if I were you. No point in making work for yourself, is there?
Wise.
 9.
Might be worth changing the strings too.
But they haven't broken yet.
 10. Just a thought, but after 22 years, would it be time to aaply some lemon oil then?
 11.
Any excuse to show my newest member of the family.
Any excuse to show my newest member of the family.

Tell me more.
 12. I have a Precision Special, and use it in preference (well,sometimes...) to my 78 Fender Precision. Can't fault the build quality or finish, the neck profile is nice. The pickups would benefit from an upgrade, that aside,it's a quality instrument.
 13.
The only steels I've had issue with fret wear is the rotosound's, no problem with prosteels or the dean markley steels. To me steels sound brighter and keep the brightness longer than nickels.
Why I despise Rotosounds. I have some hefty fret wear on both my '78 Fender Precisions which is why I use nickels on them, steelys on all my others.
 14.
I use steel. Nickel isn't healthy for your skin.
Some people are allergic to nickel, but I'm unaware of any general health issues.
 15. He's a bit exciteable...
 16. I think they wandered in by mistake.
 17.
They definately made them in the 60s and 70s, as custom order instruments - i've seen lefty EB0, EB3 and IIRC an EB2/Rivoli.
Sorry, meant to say Tbirds and Explorers, there's definately a few EB types around.
 18. This is me explaining we don't do AC/DC covers, although with hindsight I'm sure we could have bluffed it..
 19. Yaaaay another leftie! Quite a few of us here.
 20.
I'd have it myself but the missus'll do her nut, i couldn't hide a red one
You should be impressed she notices the difference...
 21.
What sounds bad?
Asking if the truss rod nuts are supposed to come off...
 22. That sounds bad.....Angela is worth contacting. She makes truss rods.
 23. Is tha the Fender? Contact Angela at guitarangel.co.uk.
 24.
They're the same gits that steal everyone's plectrums I bet!
No,that's me.
 25.
The more I read threads like this the more I realise that playing in a covers band seems mostly a thankless task, and makes me grateful for the fact that my covers band is a bit of fun that does a handful of gigs playing mainly to friends and family of the other band members, leaving me with plenty of time to concentrate to writing and playing with my originals band whose audience appreciates what we do and shows it.
Pretty much my view.
