1. The MD-2 Mega distortion takes the bottom-heavy distortion sounds heard in today's new-school metal and pushes it to the extreme. The secret is a special dual-stage distortion circuit with an added gain boost-plus new Bottom and Tone controls--for crushing distortion with massive low end. Take your distortion into the future with the MD-2. This pedal has a few dinks but it's in full working order and sounds great. Adhering to 'one in one out' pedal policy so this has to go! 2. This is a great pedal in new condition. Apparently used by Mastodon to trigger samples during their shows.
 3. Sweet, I'm sure it's item 8 on the list, I will also try Schecter's UK distributor which is Westside distribution. Thanks everybody for the great tips and advice :-)
 4. Hey all I'm wondering if someone can tell me what the little black risers are that the string sits on? (attached) I've tried to search for saddles but can't seem to find these little bad boys. They are so easy to lose if a string comes off during a gig... I'm trying to buy some new ones. Many thanks

 7. Thanks for your interest dude but I need the sale. Still available at reduced price!
 8. The time has come to sell this beast (no trades please) due to the acquisition of a pricey 5 string. This bass is a joy to play and is great in the studio - I can send you some recordings if you'd like to hear. It packs very strong tone with a sturdy and consistent feel across the fretboard. It is solid and chunky with great sustain thanks to the neck-through construction and mahogany body. It sounds every bit as good as it looks, and is able to compete easily with basses twice its price. This bass has a couple of dings near the input jack as pictured. Last year I replaced the PCB due to a dry joint on the old one; apparently it's easier to replace them instead of fixing them so I bought it from Westside Distribution in Glasgow and had it fitted in Denmark St by Kevin in Wunjo guitarts. I was very happy spending the cash on servicing this bass as I really missed not having it for that week. On another occasion I lost a saddle mount and Oreste from Westside kindly shipped me one free of charge! I'm looking for a sale in London ideally as I'm not selling with a case. We can arrange for you to try it out where I practice on the Victoria line. I'm still not 100% sure I want to sell but I can't really afford more than one bass right now. Features

Neck-thru construction
Multilaminate maple and walnut neck with rosewood fingerboard
35" scale
Mahogany body with bubinga top
24 jumbo frets
Offset dot position markers
EMG-Hz pickiups
Master volume and blend controls
3-band EQ
Diamond Custom bridge
Grover tuners
Satin gold hardware

 9. Hi all Up for sale (no trades please) is my Ibanez 5-string with a black (kind of metallic) finish. I bought this second hand 2 months ago from Wunjo Guitar's Bass Centre on Denmark Street - I needed it for a gig that night as my main 6 string was in for last minute repair. I expected to sell it on the next week but I grew to like its light weight and easy-to-play fretboard. Subsequently played it since then but I have just upgraded to a Dingwall and need to save those pennies. This is a great entry-level 5 string that sounds above its price and is great for carrying around town. Check out some reviews http://www.musicians...ing-bass-guitar The condition is very good for a second-hand instrument, with everything working as it should. There are some scuff marks on the rear of the body which you can see in one of the pics. I'm looking for a sale in London in person as I can't think how I would post it safely without a proper case. Please get in touch with any questions. Features

5-piece SR5 maple/rosewood neck
Agathis body
Medium frets
B105 bridge
EXF-5 neck pickup
EXF-5 bridge pickup
Style Sweeper EQ

10. Loving my new Dingwall Combustion: great range of tones available and the consistency across the strings is superb and unlike anything I've experienced before. Mine is giving me lots of harmonics when I'm muting in-between notes - is this the strings or maybe bad technique on my part due to inexperience with a high end 'resonant' bass?
 11. I bought what must have been Loris's Dingwall Combustion from Ben. As people say above, great comms, sent promptly, product arrived exactly as described/depicted. Also thanks for taking such care with the packaging - really appreciated!
 12. Can anyone vouch for a good Octave VST? Distortion-wise I'm loving TSE B.O.D. (free) and Mokafix Baboon (not free)
 13. I highly recommend the Zoom H4n, perhaps second-hand. I suppose you have to ask yourself how often you're doing video, and if it's not that often then a friend with a Digital SLR camera could help you out. This scenario would give you better all-round quality but the zoom Q2HD looks pretty cool although I haven't tried it
 14.
So you should remember that Flea actually DID a weather talk
I never remember a conversation about the weather... Even Flea can't pull that one off!

 16.
Never played to any audience, but I'd certainly talk to them if I had a chance. Being quite shy at first, probably I'd start with something cheesy like a weather talk, but it always could turn into a nice laugh, right? I'd try to say something funny, in general. Not a big absorbing stopper, but just a few seconds of giggle. I also love the idea of sign along, especially when the songs are not the band's, but rather they're something widely popular (or maybe even anthems; Flea did that on RHCP's concert at Slane Castle in Ireland, 2003; after the anthem, he talked to audience about his grandmother, who was Irish).
COULD being the operative word I was at that RHCP gig... they aren't a very serious band so it works nicely.
If it were done when 'tis done, then 'twere well it were done quickly.
It helps if you're Macbeth
 17.
anyone who is on bass chat at 12:27 during a weekday has got the balance wrong
Not if you're getting paid for it surely I can't practice my bass in the office!
 18.
Steel Panther are my favorites right now for this.
HAHA!
 19. (@crez5150) "You guys ready for some more HOT SAUCE???!!!!" Sorry couldn't resist... Your bass looks wicked.... I bet you guys are as funky as a wet sock
