1. Ah I see. Thanks for your feedback on this, you've been loads of help I look forward to the vid!
2. Ah cool. I like to get my slightly overdriven sound by pushing a preamp with a boost or using a hint of OD. I'll see how I get on with it stock and then look at changing the tubes (thinking about some JAN Philips 5751s as I'm after a clean sound.) Are the preamp tubes a pair of ECC83s or an ECC82 and ECC83? I've seen two different specs online and as far as I know 82s and 83s are actually spec'd differently. Did you replace yours with ECC83s?
3. Thanks for the response! Okay, I'm practically sold on this head now. Funnily enough I've been looking at various 12ax7s/ECC83s for a while now so I have a few ideas of what could go in the pre. What didn't you like about the stock tubes and what did you replace them with?
4. Also, are you running your Spyder into a 2x12"?
5. Thanks very much Gareth. From your words I think this amp may have to be ordered lol. I noticed you said that it's naturally warmer than the ABM; to me that's a good thing but is it warmer to the point of having far less clarity overall in comparison to the ABM? I didn't mention it but I run my amp practically flat with a slight boost across everything (essentially 13:00 on all EQ, some valve dialled in for warmth.) I've never been a big fan of extreme EQ-ing (I EQ to the room usually) and I like to think my tone comes from the hands. So long as the flat frequency response is similar to the ABM I should get on with it. What do you reckon to its sound flat? I'll probably end up ordering it from somewhere with a 14-day returns policy or something. Either way, I'll be keeping the trusty ABM as a backup. Cheers, Bob.
6. Out of curiosity, has anyone compared this to the ABM series?
7. Ah that's good to hear; I'm not after loads of grind but just a touch of warmth with a clean-ish sound.
8. Any feedback guys? Really itching to pull the trigger on one of these
9. I've been using a DB 112 for almost two years now for rehearsals and gigs. Currently waiting on a second one to arrive from the US to complete my live setup.
10. Hi guys, I'm really curious about this amp. I've been using an ABM evo II for years but I never really use its fancy bells and whistles and I've had the valve itch for a good while. Are these amps pretty clean until you start to push the preamp hard? That youtube link makes it mighty tempting I must say!
11. Thanks guys. Yeah, the bedspread is f***in' awful but unfortunately, I have no say in it
12. Here's my current flock: Fender MIJ 62 Pbass body loaded with Nordstrand PJs and Status neck (the body came from my first ever bass.) Strung with DR Sunbeams (40-100.) Just picked this up from my local tech today and I'm rather impressed. Warmoth Thunderbird body (mahogany with cocobolo top with matching knobs) loaded with EMG PJX set (wired 18v) with Fender MIJ 62 Pbass neck (originally from the black body above.) Strung with DR Sunbeams (45-105.) Rickenbacker 4003, Blueburst. Stock save for the treble bezel. Strung with DR Hi-beams (40-100.) Fender American Deluxe Pbass V with Aguilar OBP-3 preamp. Strung with DR Sunbeams (45-130.) Fender Mark Hoppus sig with Fralin pickup, stacked volume/tone control, deluxe Fender bridge and F-stamp neck plate. Strung with Chromes (45-100.) I'm a pretty happy chappy right now
13. Really enjoying the Chroma Chorus which arrived today. It's a very "clean" sounding chorus, and is subtle which is great for me as I don't like my effects to overly saturate my tone with their own character I do love the Analogman chorus (kept one for my guitar board) but I prefer the clarity of the Neunaber.
14. I agree regarding the Deep Impact; I found while its tracking was decent enough all of the sounds I got out of it were pretty cheesy. I was pretty disappointed. If I remember correctly I sold it on to Higgie
15. Bought a pedal from Gaz this week. Easy, quick, flawless transaction. I'd definitely do business again with this top bloke!
16. Bump with added demo video of pure awesome! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMe2Sfe8c9A]width=500
17.
which boost pedal would people recommend?
Wren and Cuff Phat Phuk B.
18. A pleasure to deal with; great comms and prompt payment. I would definitely do business with again.
19. I agree with you on Apple's advertisement of their "advanced" integrated cameras; my Iphone's camera is far worse than my trust old Sony Ericsson. I have found that using an aftermarket camera app helps a lot with it (I think I'm using one called Camera+ atm.) Tasty looking board btw dude
20. The stock setting is at 50% (which is twelve o'clock on the mix knob.) I like a bit more clean signal to come through so I ran it at about 35-40%.
21. SOLD. Hi guys, This pedal is less than a fortnight old. I took it to its only gig last night and decided that it's not needed in my band so it's going up for sale. Here's a pic of it on my pedalboard: This pedal is basically brand new save for velcro on the bottom (but I know most of you guys would put velcro on it anyway.) I paid £160 for this (not including about £30 shipping) so the minimum I can let it go for would be SOLD!(P&P included.) I'm also open to trades if you have anything I may want so feel free to PM me any offers. Payment via Paypal or bank transfer. Cheers, Bob.
22. Mike bought a wah from me. Fast payment, a smooth and easy transaction. Would do business with again
23. Okay, I've sold three pedals via this thread so I've updated it to include the Xotic X-Blender
24. I sold the Pickle Pie and replaced it with an Analogman Chorus as I'm getting back into my fretless playing
25. Ivan bought two pedals off me recently. Excellent comms throughout, VERY fast payment and was a pleasure to deal with. I'd gladly do business with him again
