  1. You also need Motorhead police and Umlaut Police. As predictive text split the word and gods knows how to do umlauts.
  2. Not instrument snobbery but musical snobbery. I went to a Jazz Fusion jam night in Manchester in the mid noughties. I was wearing a motor head T shirt. I got up with a guitarist mate to jam and the drummer said in a derisory tone " you're wearing the wrong t shirt for here mate". I said " just play you're f*##ing drums and try to keep up" We dragged em all over the place, musically speaking.
  3. I've just applied the first coat of the wudtone colourless base coat. It seem to take better in some places than others. Having never done an oil finish before I'm not sure if this normal. I'm assuming I haven't sanded it as well in some places. It seems to have taken everywhere though and it's all on the back so not too bothered. I'll see how it dries. Still got two more base coats and then three top coats to do.
  4. Name burnt into the headstock. Gonna use the wudtone neck finish over the next few days. Once that is done its will just be a case of sanding and staining the body. Then attaching all the bits to it. Hopefully I'll have it done by the end of the month.
  5. Nevermind selling things, they are just time wasters in general. Currently putting a band together for a one off gig. A pretty big gig. Supporting named acts at a festival. A guy said he do it one week, quit before the first rehearsal a week later. Saying didn't have time.
  6. Without hearing the music its hard to comment on who's right and even then it's subjective. As for being focused on notes, never focus on notes. In fact best not to play any!
  7. It's camouflaged. Look!😄 Plus I've had it about 30 years and it just lies around the front room. It's taken for granted the poor thing.
  8. Didn't realise another bass was on the couch 😆. Next job is to sand neck with 240 grit to get ready for the wudtone finish. Burn my name into the headstock, the finish with the aforementioned wudtone oil.
  9. The world's slowest build continues. Neck attached and headstock drilled for tuners.
  10. Fair bit of Zappa and Vai in there too....and Megadeth.
  11. I loved the first few DT albums, then kind if got bored with then around falling into infinity. (I did enjoy train of thought tho) Never really got into Myung though. He could clearly play but it never really turned me on. Didn't like his sound either, great player tho. Didn't listen to the for about 15 years but started listening to the first 2 albums again recently and they are cracking. Immense prog.
  12. I saw them 3 times between the falling into infinity and scene from a memory album years ago. I guess between 98 and 2002. They were always excellent. They seem enthused too. Hung out with em once. All cool guys.
  13. The neck doesn't fit in the pocket. It did at first, just, now it doesn't. So I've made a little sanding block out of a mini jenga block and sand paper. I'm gonna lightly sand one side of the pocket til the neck fits.
  14. I bought a babicz bridge for it. Think that has its own Screws.
  15. As in the screws you attach to the headstock with? And, kinky as I am, what's the candle wax for?
  16. Starting to get on with this. First up, a mistake I made. I bought all the stuff roughly at the same time, Including the Wudtone finish. Today I realised it only has a 3 month shelf life. So it's gone off. Total waste of money.😆 Anyway, the plan is to have the neck done by the middle of April. So I'm looking for a bit of advice. Should I buy some Schaller tuning pegs for it or stick with the Chinese ones that came with it? They seem quite sturdy and have been told that the difference will be minimal. I don't want to have to change down the line and have excess holes in the back of the headstock.
  17. I legitimately used it a lot😅 I miss doing the theatre work. Had to give it up for family reasons. And since covid I don't even play in regular bands. Sad times really 😄
