1. SOLD Pedaltrain 2 effects board with soft case You all know what these are and that they are the high quality industry standard in effects pedal boards. This one comes with the soft case; which is durable and a lot lighter to deal with than the hard case for them. This unit will easily hold a wah and a dozen standard sized stomp boxes. now SOLD £75 cash on collection from Nottingham preferred; but shipping (£13.79 in mainland UK) and electronic bank transfer could be arranged at your cost. I would be interested in trades for a Pedaltrain Junior with Hard or Soft Case and cash either way as necessary.
2. high time my freakin' lottery numbers came up
3. Hi Jeff Yes the base is rigid; but not like steel. It does flex a bit, but it is strong and stable; I don't know what is inside it though. It sits well on the floor and doesn't slide about. I have used it without worrying that it will break, be dangerous or unreliable. I particularly liked that you can simply unzip the top part, plug in the power supply & instrument cables and get playing.....all in under a minute!.....and that it weighs so little, which would be one advantage of not having a steel board inside it.
4. EHX effects pedal board and carry case. This is a very clever design of pedal board and carry case combined as one. It is made by Electro Harmonix (EHX) and is ideal for housing your EHX pedals; but it would work fine for pedals made by other manufacturers too. The top (with handles) is completely detachable from the bottom (or board). The top has a pouch with zip, which can carry a power supply and leads. The board (or bottom) has Velcro strips built in for fixing your pedals and the dividers are detachable and fix wherever you want them with Velcro. The board also has holes with covers (with Velcro to close) at either end, so you can run your leads straight in to your pedals. £15 cash on collection from Nottingham preferred; but shipping at your cost and electronic payment can be arranged.
5. Pedals and cables are now sold. Case still available and new ad will be posted shortly
6. Sold a crazy box of mischief (CoPilotFX Antdroid) to Gerben; so he can mess with the minds of the whole of the Netherlands. It was a pleasure to do business with him; his communications were great and the whole transaction went through as smooth as could be. Thanks, Gerben, you're a stellar basschatting dude!
7. 2 x 12” Burman guitar speakers XP5012 50w 15ohm dual-concentric. Revised price of £300.......£375 felt too high, whatever the experts say they are worth! Up for sale is a pair of very rare and high quality speakers indeed, custom made by Goodmans for the legendary Burman amplifiers. If you don’t know about Burman amps, it is worth reading about these here: http://www.burmanamp.co.uk/ and here http://www.burmanamp...ews/pro501.html Burmans are probably the best British guitar amps ever made. They are very high spec indeed and Greg Burman always designed and built them without compromises of any sort…and this extended to the speakers he used too. The regular and excellent Goodmans speakers you could get back in the 70s weren’t good enough for him; so he got them to custom-design these Burman XP5012 speakers for him and they are as over-engineered as everything else Greg designed. The black label Burman speakers were made by MacKenzie and are therefore probably less sought after than the red-label Burmans, made by Goodmans. Being dual-concentric, these speakers offer incredible extended tonal range and clarity and can handle everything a Burman amp can throw at them….and that is a very great deal indeed. Even though these speakers are rated at 50w I reckon they would easily handle 75w or more. The tone that the speakers can produce is just wonderful, with clear full bass and highly detailed treble and mids, whether being driven clean or with the huge and extraordinary three-stage gain of a Burman amp. These speakers are not made any more and are very rare indeed. So grab them while you have the chance; as you probably won’t see a pair again for years, especially not in such good working order as these. I have tested them in a 2 x 12 cab and the extended range is SO deep and full, it is hard to believe what you are hearing. The cones are in excellent condition, as are the rubber gators and there is no rubbing of the cones/voice-coil. They work just as they should. The terminals are a bit scabby with old solder, but they work fine. One of the speakers is missing its label; but they are clearly a matched pair, everything about them is identical. I have it on good authority that a good pair of these speakers can go for about £600, on the rare occasions that they turn up; but that seems like an awful lot for a pair of guitar speaker, even if these are the best speakers I have ever heard and I've tried quite a lot. So I am asking considerably less for the pair, given too that one is missing its label and the terminals are a bit scabby on both (the terminals work fine though). £300 cash on collection from Nottingham preferred; but shipping and electronic bank transfer could be arranged at your cost.
8. PEDALS NOW SOLD as a collection This bunch of groovy classic steel-case pedals comes with an EHX board/carry case and cables to run them off a standard 9v Boss-style power supply. Many say these old EHX pedals have a lot more warmth and headroom than the galvanised-case pedals that EHX produce these days; they're getting rarer now too and are excellent on bass, keys or guitar. The Mini Q-Tron is one of the all-time classic envelope filter / auto-wah effects pedals. It was based on the mega-rare and ultra-expensive MuTron III filter, used by Bootsy Collins and many other effects-pedal pioneers back in the 70s. Both pedals were designed by the great Mike Biegel; so no surprise they sound so similar. You can select the band-width you want to effect, using the three-position Mode control. Set the drive or dirt level and how much Q (or funky quack) you want with the other two rotary controls. £45 The Bass Balls produces a beautiful and quite unique vocal sound with a touch of quack. The distortion is switchable; so you can keep it clean and vocal or add in some growl for a more pronounced effect. You can max the Sensitivity to trip out in hyperspace too. On guitar the Bass Balls gives a great lead tune, that is very vocal indeed and unlike anything else you are likely to find elsewhere in any one pedal. £35 The Small Clone is a classic chorus pedal as used by Kurt Cobain, Bootsy Collins and many others. It is a design still copied by many of today’s boutique pedal makers, such as Analogman. It produces beautiful, rich chorus effects, ranging from warm & liquid to wild & spacey. The Deep switch is a very handy option too. £35 The Small Stone produces phasing effects that are very full and range from deep and warbly to quick pulsing spacey sounds. The Colour switch is a nice option too. £35 The EHX power cables are very hard to find. They let you run these old EHX pedals off a standard 9v Boss power supply and I'm throwing them in with each pedal, absolutely free. All four pedals can run off 9v batteries too (batteries not included though). The EHX pedal-board/carry-case. £15 SOLD for £134 for pedals and cables only. Cash on collection from Nottingham preferred; but shipping at your cost and electronic payment can be arranged.
9. I once played through an Accoustic stack with head. It was the best sound I have ever heard. I think there was a 1x18, a 4x10, then the head and a triple-horn on top. It was so good, I nearly pooped myself and that was 30 years ago. Now I am a bit older, I nearly pooped myself again, just thinking about it!
10. This is a very sweet guitar speaker that can handle up to about 50w; it starts to break up nicely around 35w. It is an 8ohm speaker. I do not know what brand it is; but it is clearly high quality. It has a cast aluminium frame and a very heavy magnet, which I suspect is Alnico; but I don’t know this for sure. Like Alnico magnets, it is taller than usual flat shape of ceramic magnets and the sound is that sweet detailed tone that all guitarists love that only really comes from an Alnico magnet. The cone is paper with no ribs and the dust cap is paper too. The speaker is in excellent condition and is a great value buy for anyone after classic guitar tones of the 70s. £35 cash on collection from Nottingham preferred; but shipping and electronic bank transfer could be arranged at your cost. More photos available; just PM me your email address. Sorry, but no trades please; I am raising cash to cover a guitar purchase.
11. This is one of the best envelope filter / touch-wah effects pedals and this is the old-school classic analogue version of the QTron in the big old steel sheet case. Some say these have more funk and quack in them than the smaller pedals that EHX now produce. This does sound absolutely filthy!! The QTron was designed by the great Mike Biegel who designed the mega-rare and ultra-expensive MuTron III filter, used by Bootsy and many other pioneers back in the 70s. The Q-Tron produces a very good impression of a Mu-Tron....as suggested by the name! These pedals are getting increasingly rare and are excellent on both bass and guitar. You can select the band-width you want to effect, using the three-position Mode control, set the drive or dirt level and control how much Q (or funky quack) you want. This pedal can run off a 9v battery or you can get a small converter cable to run off a standard 9v Boss power supply. £45 cash on collection from Nottingham preferred; but shipping and electronic bank transfer could be arranged at your cost. Sorry, but no trades, please. I need to raise cash to cover a guitar purchase.
12. This pedal models that classic gritty Ampeg sound for either bass or guitar. It gives a bass rig that fire-breathing Ampeg tone and it produces great Keef tones for guitar and other great tones. You can produce anything from just a touch of hair to full on overdrive to your sound. The pedal can run at voltages between 9v-18v, through a standard Boss power input, to give more headroom. This ability to run at different voltages is truly wonderful and well-worth investing in a suitable switching power supply. The pedal is very amp like; it has Gain and Volume and Treble and Bass controls. £90 cash on collection from Nottingham preferred; but shipping and electronic bank transfer could be arranged at your cost. Sorry, but I am not looking for trades, as I need to raise cash to cover a guitar purchase. NB. This pedal is now sold and will be going to Finland
13. I would use this order: wah, compressor, distortion, chorus, delay only cos I like to have option of untamed and tamed wah, and because compression works well in front of dirt pedals to keep it focussed. modulation stuff is usually best last in chain, because using wah or distortion on an already modulated signal can get a bit messy. however, if there are any rules, they're there to be broken....so I say juggle your set up and find what works best for you.
14. yup, no word of a lie..... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/231092518107?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 I couldn't believe it and I agree this isn't really a good thing. Up to £400 seems a very fair and nice price for a 501.
15. Bump for a v tasty bass....only wish I had enough cash
16. 2EQ Black Ernie Ball USA Musicman Stingray with rosewood neck You know how good these are! Bass is in Derby/Nottingham and you are welcome to try before you buy. It has been set up by Xperience Guitars in Nottingham in November 2013 and plays beautifully. There is a chip on the back of the body, but it's not huge and not visible from front; otherwise the guitar is in excellent condition and full working order. The bass comes with a hard case, but it's not an original MM case. Ideally would like to trade this for a Sandberg JM4. Cash sale of the MusicMan considered too. Collection only from Derby or Nottingham; though if trading a meet in the middle may be possible. Photos to follow......
17. Now sold to Cloff, who intends to alienate The Netherlands with this dangerous box of madness. Sanity can now resume in my household and dear old England will be able sleep safely at night again!
18. I love Fender tone and still use a Silverface Bassman 135 for bass. I have a Blues Junior Tweed, with some v nice vintage tubes in it and swapped the horrible reissue Jensen C12N speaker out for an Emminence Cannabis Rex - the amp sounds quite nice now for guitar. I am not blown away by this amp though. Best guitar amp for Fender tone I have found so far is my MusicMan RD112sixtyfive. I upgraded the speaker to an OEM EV12ML, which is the same upgrade you could get from factory when new and this amp has come alive - it is wonderfully clean with all that sparkle. It takes pedals really well too.
