they have a nice little selection of musicmans, from what i remember they had the bongo HH, stingray 2eq, stingray 3eq, stingray 5 H, stingray 4 HH. i tried the 3eq stingray about a month back, the red/black one, and it was sh*te tbh, although it could have been the ashdown amp... i dont remember soundcontrol ever having lots of different types, although they did have a few warwicks and spectors
Well I was quite dissapointed with the selection so thats why I thought "Ahhh f**k it, I'll try that jazz", and for the price it's going at I would sincerely tell anybody to avoid it. Bad thing is, the Musicmans always look they should sound good but look lifeless, unfrotunatley from trying them they sound as dull as they look, that was quite a let down.

I saw it in there the other day as well Kev, I was tempted to try one again but I thought I'd try a mex Reissue Jazz, the black one with block inlays, and it was f**cking awful, dare I say it, the USA P Bass my friend was banging out Blink 182 songs on sounded alot better, and played better, I still wouldn't have on if it were thrown at me. Compared to when I last went there, bass wise it was packed with all of them, and now all there is is a wall of Musicmans and a bigger wall of Fenders, and then a left handed Corvette FNA and a left handed Spector rebop, and some odd ones on the 2 pillars.
Hi everyone!! Have recently exchanged my EBS head for an Eden WT 550, so now i have a small head for the first time, its still heavier than most markbass heads mind. Not had a chance to use it in anger yet, but it has a lovely warm sound with enough clarity to cut through when needed. oh and takes up much less room in the car, so i can take the EUB. The mini rig Eden WT 550 & Accugroove tri 110 ( I have two of these cabs so i can get 550 watts at 4ohms, the head can go to 750 watts at 2ohms so ive extra power should i need it) Also both accugroove cabs together, ridiculously light, and sound massive, bit big compared to most neo 10,s as it has a 6" mid driver, but the overall sound isnt far off that of a 2X10. dont have any pics of the eden and both cabs so here,s an old one. keep rockin and heres to no chiropractor bills- LEE ps I cant seem to take any photos of my gear without my cats joining in, but as we all know 8 out of 10 cats prefer bass cabs.
I see your cat approves of the rig Lee
Yeah i know what you mean, sound to die for though, the days of the big rigs are numbered (thank god)
2 2x10's are really all I need, and I prefer playing through the 2x10 itself instead of having the Eden plugged in as well, it just sounds so focused.
Hi josh check out the lightweight, compact amp thread, its there!!, also check out the EBS proline 4x10 for sale i n the amps thread, highly recommended if your back can handle it, it,ll go great with your 2x10 ( thats what i wanted to do) keep groovin mate- lee Nice stuff mayyyyte! Though where are some pics of your amp Lee
Ian offered it to me but it would be just as heavy as the Eden so it's not a good idea.
Ah......I see....... Maybe you could get a good friend/family member to help you out on that front. In my experience, you'll get much better service if you go see Bernie in person.
Hence the hesitation, Bass Ferret kindly suggested it as well, but I doubt I could ever convince any family member to drive me out that far for something so "Little".
Mine was a 600+ miles trip in one day..... I left Manchester early morning, got to his place in Brighton around noon, spent about 4 hours there trying out all sorts of cabs, and came away with my two Neo cabs. I got home around 8/9pm. One hell of a long day, but like I said, definitely worth the long drive.
Now if only I could drive also.
Definitely go direct to Bernie. I did a round trip in a day from Manchester and it was most definitely worth it.
Unfortunatley I'm not close enough to pay him a visit in person, but he should be able to deliver down to here.
Have recently bought a ThumbBO to complete my 4 string Thumb collection. Bought this from Benwhiteuk and have given it a full wax refinish. Fun to see how they differ when lined up. The BO's body is longer to accomodate the neck pocket. The BO has the friendlier balance of the two and is lighter (and brighter) to play. The NT is much more "hardcore" - those with fragile spinal columns would do well to stay away.
Just looking at that pic reassures me why I prefer a NT Thumb over a BO, it just looks amazing

Alright I'll give Bernie a call, thanks guys .

Are The Bass Centre a good choice also?

I think even his harshest critics would agree that he is such a nice guy though.

I'm a bit stuck on where to order my last Proline 2x10 from, I've been told GB is probally the best, but also The Gallery are worth a try. Just wondering where you guys got yours from. Josh.

I've been struggling to get on with this bass latetly, I'm just too use to my 535 that the SSII has become surplus for what I want, and for the last 2 months it's been getting little use so now I think someone else deserves a spell with it. Pics: There a few minor dings and some light scrathes by the controls, but other than that, for a 1998 model, she's in a good used condition and the electronics work perfectly, also the gold hardware is a bit worn. Molan has seen this bass in the flesh, so hopefully he can vouch for the condition. Price wise I'm thinking £650-£700, which includes the Warwick flightcase which is also in good condition, but I'm afraid the buyer has to sort out the postage, or alternatively if someone wishes to collect from quite a distance, I'll pay for the petrol. I'm looking more to sell than trade, but if you have something of similar value then theres no harm in trying, but definetly NO P-BASSES . Josh.

Coincidence, it's definetly the first one I've seen for a long time on Ebay, and a it's a pretty good price IMO: Attitude LTD II
Do you know how much i should be asking for it?
Hmmmm I'd say you could probally get between £80-£100, maybe a little more.

I remember seeing those around on Ebay a good few years ago, to me they are basically a copy of the Vintage V800-V950 series, well the body is anyways, which is modelled on the Bass Collection, I think.
2x10s here. The ultimate cab in sound and portability. Just keep adding 2x10 cabs and you can't go wrong.
That's the plan man, 2 2x10's is all I need, although one 2x10 with my TD650 is more than enough for a small to medium size gig.
-
My 2x10 Proline alone is amazing, everythings there I could want tonally, the bass is very prominent but doesn't dominate the overal sound and it just has such a nice punchy feel to the tone as well. Coupled with my 4x10 it is a lot louder but I still prefer the 2x10 by itself.
sounds good
I'd happily agree!
