It's so baffling how Yamaha release colours.

Only on 2 ranges out of 4. And on one of the ranges it's on both the 4 and 5 string, but only the 4 string ln the 400 series 😂

So, I'll admit I probably haven't been taking very good care of this bass recently. Been through a fair amount of temperatur changes but never directly next to a heater.

But I picked it up today to clean it and noticed basically full length cracking along the back and a good bit on the front too.

Anything I can do to prevent further issues or maintain it as is? I know it's all mojo at this point but if I could avoid a large section of paint just falling off that would be great 

Those new ones seem to solve the two biggest issues with the Bronco. Lack of bridge adjustment and tin foil tuners.

I always think the Panther looks like a bass made to play funk and slap on.

Probably does everything in between nicely too.

I know, 2 relatively understated colours to choose from - whilst nice - aren't exactly eye catching when compared with the early 2000s range. And I wouldn't want to strip one to refinish as they are nice...

I think all I need to finish my P bass project is pickups and knobs. Oh and a nice tort pickguard...will keep an eye on this and see what appears 

Had a quick noodle on a Central 5 in GuitarGuitar earlier, really impressed (as always) with Sandberg. Just extremely comfortable, well made basses.

Good range of tones available from the single pickup too, not sure I would take it over a VM5 but the simplicity is always tempting. They also had a very tasty looking heavy relic red Lionel that the guy says was his favourite bass in the shop currently but didn't have time to try it today.

I know you went in with mods in mind - but it just seems off that a £1000 bass (currently on offer online it seems) needs that amount of fettering to get it sorted.

Even the basic ones are really very good. All the build features of the more expensive ones which is nice.

Thanks all, definitely food for thought as configurator comes out about £400ish more than you see similar models retail for so just wanted to get collective input.

Question about the configurator - for those who have custom ordered is the price on the configurator the same price you got if you went through a dealer (Bass Direct or Classic and Cool)

I had an Electra VS4 which I picked up for £400 and then sold it to Johnny Dibble (if you watch his reviews on YouTube)

Stupidly good bass for the money and probably should have kept it as they now seem to have crept up in price, even pre-owned.
