1. fenders arn't going to get younger so they probably will still go up in value as they become rarer. I think the difficulty is to find something thats both iconic, not mass produced and cheep. Wal's arn't incredibly iconic as an instrument, i think Alembic's and Fodera's are already to expensive. I would invest in pre CBS fender personally, but as a collectable it could do with being all original
2. Does this mean kids are gonna be pickin up bass at a young age? because i cant handle the competition
3. I will trade you £690
4. Elites feel and sound like la bella's but cost much less. Also keep away from rotosound, they'l break your fingers
5. save yourself and get the fender MIM classic 70's reissue. Its the best bass fender do for under 1K that iv played, and iv played most of the newer models. An early 80's MIJ reissue would be great but are harder to come by and are very pricey
6. The Nord-Strand?
7. unfortunately 2gb its as upgradable as it can get. I think i may just run garageband for now. My PC had sonar and thats to a similar spec but sonar destroyed it and every project crashed.
8. Hi, not sure where to post this so this will do. I have an Imac G5 with 2GHZ processor and 2GB RAM. But it won't run snow leopard as it doesn't have an Intel prosessor. Does this mean it will also not run Logic Pro 9?
9. fender jazz bass pre '79. Probs a '78. I'l see whats here in January
10. How is he allowed to keep bumping up the price? £1500 now! in 2 days it will be £3000
11. Phil Mulford does the X factor tracks
12.
It's true isn't it?
yes
13. these songs are very easy to learn by ear. Don't stop til you get enough is virtually 2 notes, A and B. Working all day and night is a riff in E minor, i think beat it is a riff in Eb minor, billie jean is a riff in F# minor, thrillier is a riff in C# minor i think. Or their around those shapes, so it should be easy to pick up by ear
14. a blues driver of some sort would help
15. I play mostly pop/funk/disco/soul and i really like the "dead" bass boomers tone on my stingray. And it took them only a week to go dead
16.
PM'd
and sold
17. Should be getting mine on saturday. I was a bit worried at first that the 300w cab wont take my lh500 but after reading here it seems like it would be cool
18.
"Bass Guitar" The single oddest thing about this is that the listing doesn't say "Fender". Anywhere. Anyway, I am no Fender expert, but I know my copies, & would like to think I could spot a shonky fake-up. However, this looks kosher to me - are my eyes playing tricks? Jon.
+1, i reckon the guy just doesn't know ebay and possibly just wants what he paid for it. It looks all good except the difference in coating from the front headstock to the rear. I havn't seen that on a fender before. Otherwise i wish i had the funds for it
19. Boss ODB-3 is the most common and most used bass specific distortion pedal on the market. It has a huge aray of fat, to crunchy to pure dirty sounds. Im selling this boxed and in near mint condition for £32 + P&P (£2 something 2nd class) PM or email [email protected]
20.
We all love bass direct, but why is he stating CBS when its not....?
it is cbs era, cbs took over in '65, anything before that is known as pre cbs. Its in great condition and is an earlyish model when you think late 70's models fetch near £2000 and anything before '67 will get nearer £4000
21. I think one thing people seem to miss is the difference between players price and dealers price. Dealers can afford to hold on to instruments longer as they have other sales generating income. So they wait until they can get a good return on what they spent. I think if advertised in a classifieds or ebay or here you would be looking to get a little less than what a dealer would sell them for. From examples over the last few years i would say £2500- £2700 for the p bass and £3000-£4000 for the jazz bass. I think the best thing to do would be to find a good shop in london that would do a commission deal as they seem to sell for more than they do north of the midlands. You just need to make sure its a deal that would get you more than selling privately.
22.
Detest them. I find them hideously embarrassing to watch. I probably have some sort of self-loathing issue that makes me feel this way.
as for watching them, never have never will.
23. at the moment its my career ambition, i love the dramatic music, like film scores kinda thing. Just need to get good and be a reading master
24. great shop too! but yeh too far for me
25.
what a great wake up morning band. Not sure on Tokyo as a song though, i prefer the outrageously cheesey first album
Oh and tone wise, just a picked p bass through an orange stack.
