1. I have to put this beauty up for sale. It’s a BT5 Custom from early 1988 with beautiful quilted curly maple top and back, mahogany core, 5 piece maple/mahogany neck with graphite carbon fiber inlaid on both sides of the truss rod. It has the rare 2band preamp with 3 knobs and the black headstock. Comes in its original teardrop case, with original Smith strap, Paperwork documenting the quality queck, delivery date and serial number, and [s]three new sets[/s] two new sets of Ken Smith strings (40-58-80-102-120) - I did restring the bass today, so the third set is on the bass. Man, it sounds great with fresh strings ! It’s the complete package, so to speak. The bass sounds incredible and has very low action. It’s just a dream to play. Over the decades, it has seen some playing. The bass has quite some mojo, there are dings and dongs here and there, buckle rash and some wear a bass gets while being played for 27 years, but everything works fine of course. Specs: - quilted curly maple top and back - mahogany core - 5 piece maple / mahogany neck with carbon reinforcement - ebony fingerboard - 9V 2band preamp (3 knob layout) - gold hardware - including paperwork, original teardrop case, original strap, 3 sets of Ken Smith strings - weight: only 4.0 kg / 8.9 lbs !!! The price I'm asking is £ 2600 or 3500 €. Picking the bass up in Germany is no problem either. By the way: no trades. Sorry for that. If there are any questions or price quotes, just drop me a message.
2. you may want to hurry up then. you're not the only one being tempted... ;-)
3. Hi. Have to sell my Custom Sandberg Ken Taylor. I talked to Sandberg: this is a custom shop model from 2008. It has a maple body (regular Ken Taylor basses have alder or swamp ash bodies), and features an original Sandberg Preamp. Also, the finish is custom, since there are no regular Ken Taylor basses featuring this color. It has lots of low-mid growl and is really light weight (just 3.9kg !!!). The Ken Taylor bass has a lot of amazing tones, since there is a coil tap switch, allowing for single coil / serial mode humbucking. The bass has seen some playing and has some mojo. There are dings and dongs, the matte finish has polished spots here and there (for example the spot where the fingers dig in when slapping), but everything works just fine. There are no faults whatsoever, just optical stuff. The tones of this monster are amazing. Have a listen here: https://youtu.be/eyR1tyUpLlU Here come the specs: - maple body - maple neck w/ rosewood fingerboard - Sandberg MM style pickups (serial / single coil mode) - Glockenklang 3band EQ (9V) - Schaller security locks - weight: only 3.9kg / 8.6lbs - string spacing @ bridge: 18.5mm which is 0.728 inches The price I'm asking is £ 620 or 860 €. (No trades, sorry for that.) If there are any questions or price quotes, just drop me a message.

5. thanks. the bass really has an awesome tone. and switching between bridge and neck PU and changing right hand position you can dial a lot of different tones. and thats before the EQ comes into play...

9. Hi. Gotta put this beauty up for sale. It's vintage Human Base Max 5 from the early days of the company, built in 1996, S/N is 134. Human Base builds terrific instruments. Back in the days, they were all made of maple, and have such a huge punch and growl, it cuts through everything. Now, this Max 5 is completely made of maple: maple body with flamed maple top, birdseye maple neck with birdseye maple fingerboard. It's a bold-on neck which is a speciality of Human Base, since they use a very deep neck pocket design, which gives the stability and sustain of neck-through necks, but the attack of a regular bolt-on neck. And it feels like a neck-through when playing in the higher registers. It features Basstec soapbar pickups and Glockenklang 2EQ electronics. Later on, Human Base switched to Delano pickups, but in the early years, Basstec PUs were used. Of course, the bass has a few dings and dongs, since it's a 19 years old bass that's been played, but it's in very good condition. This bass comes in the original Human Base gigbag. It's a dream to play, the neck is so comfortable. And well, it sounds incredible as you can imagine. Human Base built a true gem here. Have a listen here: https://youtu.be/YmKhsFAeerk Here come the specs: - maple with thick flamed maple top - birdseye maple neck & birdseye maple fingerboard w/ zero fret and wooden nut - matching headstock - Basstec hum cancelling soapbar pickups - Glockenklang preamp (2band, 9V) - custom made pickup ramp (completely removable without residues) - Schaller security locks - weight: only 3.9kg - string spacing @ bridge: 18.2mm which is 0.716 inches The price I'm asking is £ 1030 or 1400 € including shipping. 10. very nice bass. does this have an extremely small body ? although the string spacing at the bridge is "just" 17mm, it looks huge. that must be due to the body size, right ? had a tune myself, really nice instruments, and this one looks premium class
11. sold my bogart bass to him and it was a pleasure. straightworward transaction, very friendly guy. what can i say: i wouldn't hesitate to deal again. thanks. greetings from germany (don't forget to let me know when you're around, ;-))
12. Thanks Ray. The string spacing really is very comfortable. I'm not into narrow spacings myself, while too wide isn't comfortable either. This seems to be the perfect spacing to make it feel comfortable, at least for me...
13. You're welcome, Dazed. The control plate is covering the electronic compartment. That's the way it was on the very early Bogart models. Shortly after that, cavity was changed, so there was access from the back, while the plate on the front was omitted.
