Hi, Ive checked the post about hums and buzzing but not found an answer to my issue. Basically I keep getting a low hum from my speaker cab at various venues. We are a 5 piece band of 2 guitars, electronic kit, vox and bass who use a backline set up so dont DI or go through a PA. I've eliminated it being leads as I've changed them for new, Ive tried other amp heads and basses both active and passive but the hum still appears now and again. All my gear is relatively new (Markbass amp & cab, basses include Musicman, Fender and 2 Ibanez. Klotz leads and Speakon cables from obmm. We always use RCD's and check wiring wiring is ok by using a mains socket tester before plugging in. Its not wall lights/dimmers etc as in some places where its happening there are none. Someone suggested a power conditioner but Ive since been told this wont necessarily resolve the issue. Could it be a grounding problem and if so will it harm my gear? How do I eliminate it without putting myself in danger by switching on the groundlift? Appreciate any help. Thanks.

We've just auditoned for a replacement guitarist and this is what we expect: First of all: Be on time or early! Be well prepared with songs & learn more than they asked you to! Nothing worse for a band who's paid for studio hire than having someone turn up and waste their time with a half hearted attempt. Be organised with gear. Ask to do a quick soundcheck so you are not too loud or quiet. Dont fiddle in between songs or play with head down; look like you are willing to communicate when playing. Don't brag or seem desperate. Ask questions about expectations of the band commitment, contribution, bookings who does what and dont mention fees til the end or they will think you are only in it for the cash.

Hi, just upgraded from LM11 to the 800 (not tube) and on the rear panel I have pre and post EQ buttons that are set in the out position. Are these functions purely for DI ing? I only play with backline set up so dont go through any mixer or PA. Do I leave them in the out position? Also the groundlift is set in the out position. Is this correct for UK? Cheers
