I'd love to keep this bass in my collection but, unfortunately, it would just sit there with an occasional play and that's a shame for such a wonderful bass. I originally bought this bass for an acoustic project. I wanted something with a fairly shallow body as anything too deep aggravates an existing neck problem. The Ovation is shallow with hollowed chambers to produce an acoustic sound. However, I must point out that it is not a loud acoustic, particularly strung with black tape wound strings! I tried some Nexus black coated strings which, whilst producing a louder acoustic sound, tended to lose something of the lovely deep bass sound - almost verging on double bass territory
The bass is in mint condition for a 1996 model. It is a beautiful red burst with the leaf design making it look almost autumnal The pre amp has three sliders and a rotary knob for volume (the volume knob can be pressed down so that it sits flush with the body). The bass comes with its original embossed Ovation hard case, which is also in mint condition.

These basses are very rare (you know, hen's teeth, rocking horse poo, politicians with a social conscience etc). I'm now only looking to trade - possibly a 4/5 string to use as a back-up for gigs. Fairly open to a variety of basses, try me!
