  1. Hi guys, please check out my channel’s new video on the Ray Ross saddle-less bridge, use HD + headphones and please let me know what you think
  2. Plastic covers were definitely removable on my Sire - not sure if they’ve changed that in the second edition, I doubt it. In mark 1 it’s definitely not “all in one piece”, they come apart the minute you take them off lol...
  3. Appreciated it man, will do my best to keep it different but interesting.
  4. Thanks a lot man! Will try to keep the videos coming.
  5. As much as it pains me to do this, Covid forces another sale... Here’s my lovely MTD that I bought at the start of this year from here. It is an amazing bass, super versatile, super comfortable, light, great palette of sounds, however I just can’t afford to keep it... Makore body, Birdseye maple neck. Comes with an MTD hard case and fresh set of Elixir nickel strings. Collection from west London, or I’m happy to deliver for fuel costs within 100-150 miles... Bass can be heard here - or here at 1’40” - Edit: I thought “Covid forces sale” was pretty self-explanatory but I keep getting messages with trade offers so I’ll spell it out - I’m not interested in any trades, thanks. If I could afford not to take full price, I wouldn’t have been selling it in a first place.
  6. Can’t believe I’m doing this but Covid seems quite comfortable to stick around so... price drop bump - £700.
  7. Hi guys, I've recently started my own bass related channel on youtube. Being a full time musician since '99, my life has significantly changed this year with covid, going from 5-6 gigs a week to zero since April... That gave me a lot of free time and I decided to try and share some of my experience on youtube. The channel is still in the works and only has a few videos, but I intend to keep them coming, especially if there is interest, so this post is as much advertising as it is asking you guys to give me a hand and spend a few minutes watching some of the videos on there - that will help me grow the channel and create more content. I am open to ideas and suggestions too. Before the whole pandemic thing I was playing for the UK based American band Odyssey, Eban Brown - former lead singer of the Stylistics, Kym Mazelle - former Soul 2 Soul, past credits include Ray Lewis (The Drifters), MD-ing for Coree Richards (Damage), I've played for Michelle John (long time Eric Clapton backing singer), The London Community Gospel Choir, Time 2 Shine (gospel TV show), to name but a few. I also was in 4-5 very active covers bands to fill up the weekly gig quota and done many studio sessions... I am a Bartolini artist, EICH artist, soon to be a Ray Ross saddles bridge artist, and by the end of the year on the artist list of a great UK bass guitar company too... To summarise I won't be showing scales, Scott's bass lessons does that pretty well already. My idea is to share whatever I might have (or haven't) learned all these years on the road and stages from 50 to 5000 (not counting festivals), in terms of playing, sound, preparation, attitude, gear, everything that is included in the playing for a living thing, from positive to negative experiences, my little wins and losses too. Monitoring my channel's statistics, I've noticed that most of my external traffic comes from BassChat, and that is only from 2-3 videos I've posted when selling basses to demonstrate the sound, so I thought it might be a good idea to put the channel on here too. After all, it is a bass channel and this is basschat :). So here it is, my appeal for a boost from you, to help me develop this channel, and maybe you'll find something interesting there too, or with your ideas or suggestions I'll be able to create more videos, hopefully useful for people out there and for myself. Please give it a like, subscribe if you feel like it, comment and so on... I'd really appreciate it Link to the channel - https://www.youtube.com/user/StefanMarinov Link to the channel introduction video - Link to the first video - Link to a slap bass comparison I made some time ago - Thank you, Steff
  8. Thanks for the notes man, yes you’ve got a point. As far as #1 goes, I’ve always looked at basses from a full time gigging bassist perspective and never really cared about keeping it super original (unless it’s a £3-4k worth bass) as long as the mods bring practicality. Unfortunately I’ve ran out of cases to give out after selling a few basses lately that came in without cases. I’m just thinking though a second hand case is around £20-25, that surely isn’t a massive problem...? #3 I don’t get as a major issue really cos for the price of postage I can deliver within half length of the UK, I’ve mentioned it but probably people haven’t looked into it that way. Hopefully there’s someone out there for me... oh wait that’s for another site. Hopefully there’s someone out there who isn’t bothered much by these points cos I really need it gone soon...
  9. I have one in my ‘99 Stingray5 and got to say, they’re superb. Really recreates that early stingray sound.
  10. Man it puzzles me too... it’s a rare bass and just the upgrades are worth £200. Bump!
  11. Sorry just seen this - there you go You can also hear the bridge pickup soloed here at 1:13 -
  12. I need this gone, down to stupid cheap £750.

  14. Hi Sonny, it is rosewood as seen in the photos.
  15. Bump! Will consider reasonable offers on this one.
  16. Not interested in any trades, thanks.
  17. According to the chap I bought it from, it is NJ5SE, split coil hum cancelling one.
  18. I’m not sure about this - maybe have a google and see what people have said? Regardless, as they say, nothing would sound exactly like a Fender P but a Fender P.
  19. Hi guys, Selling my mint condition Indonesian built Lakland 55-65. This one has been professionally routed for the extra J pickup by the previous owner, luthier has done an outstanding job - it looks like a factory one. Wiring and second added correct pot for V V T made professionally too. Upgraded with Nordstrand pickups and strung with flats, sounds and plays amazing. Don’t see any dents or scratches on it. Weight is 4.55 kg. Reason for selling is that I’m having a custom order one built and I need to fund it. No trades. Don’t have a case for it unfortunately so it’ll have to be a collection or delivery by me if you aren’t too far from London.
  20. I do sometimes mate but now with this lockdown all my gigs have been cancelled/postponed... Not sure for how long now. Here's a little youtube video I put together quickly Really not sure why audio is out of sync - must be an iMovie thing...
  21. No but I can record some tomorrow mate. Anything in particular in terms of preamp/pickups settings?
