  1. I think someone did post on items wanted section that he’s looking for a short scale bass. I’d say it doesn’t get any better than this, and the price is really not representing what gems these are. I tried a few Marleaux basses at the bass show last month and I was amazed with the playability and their preamps, I’ve had a lot of different basses throughout 20 years of playing for a living and nothing has ever felt better than these. Bump!
  2. Hi guys, thinning out my collection as there’s a Ken Smith I want to buy and I need the cash. This is my upgraded MTD Kingston heir. The bass is in a great shape apart from the dent on the headstock that can be seen on the photo and another scratch that I’ll fotograph if anyone is interested. Upgrades Bartolini pickups Bartolini Preamp Series - parallel - single coil switch Fret job done by Bernie Goodfellow, allowing for very low strings action. Its an an amazing bass that I would love to keep if I didn’t have to raise £5k for a Smith. Based in west london but i travel often for gigs. No postage. Price drop to £750 Steff
  3. Hi guys, putting my beloved Sanberg for sale as there’s a Ken Smith I really want to buy but I’m short on cash. Its a great bass with a lovely neck allowing for a very low setup (as all of my basses). Sound is very authoritive and you’ll never be lost in the mix with this one. It has a few minor scratches but nothing too bad. I do have the truss rod cover but I’ve lost the screws - that should be easily acquired at any hardware shop. £1000, no trades (unless it’s a Ken Smith and cash your way) Based in West London but I travel often. Steff Just to add add a bit more info I believe the piece of tape over the “a” letter has been out there because the letter has come off - easy fix with a drop of super glue. I’ve added a new photo of a bit of cracking around the strap lock insert - had forgotten about that because since it’s under the strap, I never see it. Price drop to £900 and I can assure you it’s a lot of bass for the money...
  4. A tribute Tobias with the same John East preamp I’ve put in and Bartolini pickups mate. It’s just a bit lighter and being lower value, I’d prefer to keep it as I can trade the overwater for something more upmarket.
  5. Hi guys, recently acquired this lovely example in a trade, but I realised it’s got very similar feel and sound to another bass that I already own so this one will have to go. 33” scale, flat fretboard - it’s by far the fastest neck I’ve ever played. Action is ridiculously low (can easily be set higher if you prefer). I played a couple of gigs with it and imho it’s the easiest bass to play due to the shorter scale, my hands were thanking me after Can be strung either C to E or G to B, I have it to B at the moment and it’s one of the tightest B’s I’ve ever heard. Very punchy, really nice low mid growl. I believe the string spacing at the bridge is 16.5 mm It has the John East 5 knob preamp fitted which is one of the most versatile preamps out there. Correct me if I’m wrong but looking at Overwater’s website, this one would cost over £3200 to build at the moment. As as far as I can see there’s no marks or dents on it. I’d be interested in trades for other 5 sting basses - Lakland, Dingwall, Zon, and I would pay extra £’s for a Ken Smith or anything interesting with higher value. I would be extremely interested in a trade for a Scott Ambush bass but I know that’s a long shot - these are rarer than a hen’s teeth. I’m based in West London but I travel often for gigs, and I would drive for the right trade. Here’s a link to Scott playing and reviewing it himself. Thanks, Steff
  6. Thanks for the info mate, unfortunately I bought the neck unloaded and have no idea what tuners were on it originally. The only thing I know for sure is that the tuners from my original ‘76 rosewood neck did fit perfectly, and the screw holes were matching.
  7. Have absolutely no idea mate. My old original tuners did fit on this one, if that’s any clue..?
  8. Hi guys, I’ve sold my jazz bass and have this neck left. Bought it off here used last year for £200 and that’s what I’m after. Hardly ever played by me and it has been checked by a luthier. It is unloaded - as I bought it Attaching photos to show the screw holes. I think it’s originally been drilled for a 4 bolt neck, but I had it on my 3 bolt micro tilt bass with no issues at all and my luthier confirmed it’s rock solid. On my one the tilt system couldn’t be used in that case but might work on a different socket. Based in west London, collection or I could drop it off on some of my travels.
  9. Bump! Id be interested in trading these for some soap-bars (102mm), not set on a brand as it’s for a project bass. Or trade them for another set of Jazz pups but smaller as these don’t fit - will take measurements later today. For another project bass
  10. Yes mate, bought it off here about an year or so ago for £200. Lovely neck.
  11. Bump! This bass deserves to be played. Price drop to £1300

  15. I didn’t realise they’re all gone after the site’s face lift...
  16. Hi guys, had this his in my old Jazz but I’ve restored it to original passive pre so I don’t need this one anymore. It’s a drop in replacement, no additional routing required (at least on my ‘76 Fender it didn’t). Battery fits in the cavity - again it did on my bass but it’s designed in such a way that should fit in any bass without need of drilling and digging the precious wood. Audere preamps, to my experience, are very transparent but provide the flexibility of having an onboard EQ. If you want to hear the real voice of your instrument, but with added neutral, non timber changing boost - that’s the pre for it. Based in West London but I travel for gigs or I would post if I have to. Thanks Stefan
