  1. As far as I know all 5str KSD basses are 35” scale mate. Weight is about 4.6 kg on my scales which is light for a KSD - my other one is 5.2kg 😲
  2. Bump! Will consider trades for a 5str Lakland P or PJ.

  4. Guys - sorry not doing a cheeky bump - only to answer a couple of questions from the messages I got the bass is 4.40 kg Made in Korea July 2002 according to the serial Bartolini pickups and preamp i prefer to personally deliver for petrol money if it’s not too far off London, or collection. Unfortunately don’t have the time nor the packaging materials for shipping.
  5. Hi guys, Another one of my basses going for sale - this one is a lovely Lakland 55-02. The bass isn't in perfect condition, it has been played and there's some cosmetic wear but otherwise in great condition. Set to very low and comfortable action, strung with Elixir 45-130 with plenty of life in them. I love this bass and I am only selling because I've just pulled the trigger on a 55-94. I'm based in West London, I'd rather not ship but I travel often for gigs and delivery/meet up should be easily arranged.
  6. Hi guys, Selling my KSD ProtoJ5 due to buying another one in natural finish which I prefer. If you know these - then you know how rare and sought after they are, especially for gospel music and it has a slap tone to die for. If you don’t - google them 🙂. I brought this one to Charlie Chandler’s guitars earlier this year to have a PLEK done (for those who don’t know it is a computer controlled machine that levels the frets down to a micron) worth £140 - I believe I still have the receipt for that. I’ve also installed Aguilar 5J-HC pickups (£300 retail price) but I will supply the original ones too. The bass is in a very good condition, couple of small marks. I also had to route the pickup beds to accommodate the slightly larger AG’s. This is visible if you look for it, in other words if you hang it on your bedroom wall you’ll see it, if you are playing it - you won’t. Here’s a video of the great LA session bassist Melvin Davis playing one of these on the Lee Ritenour tour https://youtu.be/4ceQ0VypjS8 Here’s a video of this particular bass played by me - https://instagram.com/p/BeqzCLfAvdT/ The strings action is very low and comfortable, neck feels like butter. I am based in west London but I often travel for gigs around the U.K. so meeting shouldn’t be a problem. Will consider trades for a 5str Lakland P or PJ.
  7. Hi guys, Further thinning my bass collection - I have a lovely example of a maple neck OLP Tony Levin with upgraded electronics. The bass plays and sounds awesome, I’m only selling because I recently acquired a maple neck for my Stingray and this one doesn’t get played. A couple of minor marks, overall in a great shape. These are amazing basses and aren’t in production anymore which makes them very hard to find. Only the Bartolini preamp an pickup would set you back as much as the asking price so grab yourself a bargain. I am based in West London but I often travel for gigs so meeting could be arranged easily.
  8. I’m gonna withdraw this for the time being. Played a couple of gigs with it this weekend and realised I don’t really want to sell it :)...
  9. Last reduction - £1500 for a £3200 rrp bass. It is a lot of bass for the money!
  10. I’ve made the mistake of putting these in one of my other basses and I loved the combination so much that I’m keeping these. For now
  11. Bump for a trade option added - I will now consider a full or a partial trade with cash either way for a super jazz type 5 string basses. Like Fender Marcus Miller or even something more exotic, even with humbuckers, that does the fat slap sound 😏

  13. Bump! Will consider sensible offers. Played it on a couple of gig and it’s the punchiest bass I’ve ever owned. Harmonics ring like bells, really easy to play!
  14. Bump! Will consider sensible offers. These basses aren’t that common so to describe it in short - think StingRay with added warmth and lovely highs, slightly wider neck and extremely comfortable to play. Nails that Flea sound but can also get soft, or purr and growl when pushed.
