1. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...;hl=Trevthebass . I heard that that the cheque this guy sent may have been cashed by Trevor and is now currently trying to get the money back..NOT 100% sure on this. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=76259 . This thread also sounds about right, along the same lines as mine. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Marcus-Miller-Vintag...=item335a1e64e8 . An eBay auction for my bass, using my original images AGAIN (like on Basschat) and adapted text from my original listing. I have reported this to eBay and will repeat to do so until something is done. I have made ped aware of these new developments via PM.
  2. I have a slightly worrying addition to make to Trevthebass' feedback...he text messaged me this evening with this: "You f***ed me up on b chat and sold me a bass with f***ed jack and pots you little p****." I have NO clue what he his talking about with the jack, and the pots we have already discussed. I sent him a message back saying: "That will go on your basschat feedback thread. Please dont make it any worse with bad language, trying to guilt me or anything else of the sort! A lot of people are not happy with you!" I then got this as a response... "Like who you silly c*** you tried makin it like i wernt going to pay £20 wrong. I have sold loads of stuff on bass chat you got no respect where do you live about ive f***ed people over" I told him that if he does not retract his statement, that I will report him to the police for harassment. This is COMPLETELY unacceptable, and I have found yet more threads today of him very recently messing people around. I suggest this thread to be used to build up all of the bad stories possible, so that a complete picture can be made here, as I have seen others today of quite a recent nature. I will post what I find.

  4. I completely agree with you that it is a feedback thread, and not 'dirt dishing' - the thing is fundamentally quite a bit of the transaction was sound and if there hadn't been the silly little niggles that had happened then it would have been just as smooth an experience as yours. Interestingly enough, I found him no problem to get hold of even when the sale started getting a little controversial. Is that your racing green/creme Alleva-Coppola in your display picture by the way? Such a unique looking bass...
I speak as I find and its a real shame that you had a problem when dealing with Trevor. However since this is a feedback thread for Trevor I should just like to state that I swapped basses with Trevor with some cash my way about 12 months ago and I had no problem whatsoever and found him pleasant and easy to deal with although occasionally a little hard to get hold of. Other people may have other experiences and I appreciate that but mine was not bad at all. Steve
5. Hi all, After owning a Marcus Miller for years and years, I (rather acrimoniously as some of you know) managed to move it on and I have bought myself instead a Lakland 44-01 - am VERY impressed with it already even though I am still finding my feet with it. Was just wondering if there were any other owners out there who could offer any tips/tricks? With a bit of research, I found that unfortunately it may have been in the shop for a little over a year or so, as the E and G strings are a bit too high for my tastes which might also be due to the trussrod - a shame really as I have heard how good the Skylines are set up from the shop! P.S Should also be writing a review of it soon
  6.
Sorry to hear this mate - it seems several people have had trouble with this member, and after the language he used in contact with a moderator I am going to put his posts on moderator approval for the time being. ped
Thank you very much - duly appreciated as mentioned, I intend to post more prolifically soon as it's a great forum.
  7. Hi all! Trevor bought my Fender Marcus Miller Jazz bass off me a little under a week ago - unfortunately, I feel that the transaction could have gone smoother and I will avail to explain why. On the phone, he seemed very kind and we agreed the selling price which I knocked down by 10 pounds to compensate for his petrol and, true to his word, he came and on time and with money. However, he had brought with him 20 pounds short of the price we agreed as he said he had a problem with drawing out so much cash on one go. I then told him that he must transfer to me the extra 20 pounds via PayPal within 24 hours (which I wasn't 100% oomfortable with) and he said he would do as agreed. The next day, he sent me a text saying that the neck volume was crackling a little and that he asked 'what I thought about it'. As sympathetic as I was, I told him that it was (truthfully) fine when it left my hands and I didn't hear such a thing when I checked the bass over before sale. It *had* been crackling a few months earlier, but when I went to my local guitar shop in Worthing the tech guy popped the scratchplate open for 10 mins and got a bit of WD40 round there, which fixed the problem straight away. This was my no.1 bass for years, and it hardly ever sat being used, which is why I'm surprised there is some pot crackle, especially after I tested it thoroughly. I firmly said to him he still needed to transfer me the extra 20 pounds that same day, as I felt this kind of thing was a no cost repair. Much later in the evening, he called me to finally say that he would be transferring the 20 pounds that evening and again, true to his word, I got an e-mail from PayPal to authorize the transaction which is on its way into my account as I type. As you can appreciate, I am sorry if has found a problem and I can appreciate that sometimes something like pot crackle is intermittent BUT I was not aware of anything beforehand (I tried the instrument on a few different amps), and I did not appreciate the fact that he was using this to suggest witholding the extra 20 pounds. Today, a few days after the sale, I discovered an advert for my bass on Basschat (about 90% copied from my advert WITHOUT permission INCLUDING pictures) offering more money than I sold it for. By itself, I don't have a problem with that kind of thing at all, if that was what he intending to do, but I wasn't happy that he had also included small fabrications I knew were untrue, such as the fact he justified the higher price with having to pay for petrol in the original sale which I had discounted him in the first place!!! Needless for say the advert is now taken down. He even sent me a text saying he specifically wouldn't have paid me the 20 pounds if he'd known there was pot crackle because he couldn't get rid of it, which is ludicrous as the price we agreed on was VERY good and, even if there were a problem, and it costs NOTHING to clean a pot, let alone 20 pounds! This is not intended as a 'dirt dishing' exercise, but I just wanted to put down in writing that although he did end up giving me all of my money, he did not act completely truthfully (he said on the phone he 'wasn't a reseller' ) and it felt like he was using dishonesty to get my bass for a lesser price so he could maximise on profit. I had that Fender for nearly 5 years, and it was quite a difficult bass to sell as my heart was still in it a little when I let it go, so I was disappointed with Trevor that he was trying to use petty reasons to short change me out of petty money for a bass I was very sad to let go. P.S I hope to be able to post on Basschat a lot more, and not with such negative postings as this!
  8. I have just bought a 44-01, and can attest to these being a VERY fearsome force to be reckoned with. Just one of those basses that..is very hard not to like Just a slightly off topic question actually, if you don't mind me asking. How easy was it to change out the knobs on yours? I have an all black 44-01 which although looks very classy, I'm thinking some equally classy knobs could really compete the look such as yours.
  9. Although....wait..I did send you a message about your trade offer? I just checked my sent items and nothing sent! I wasn't looking for trades and I definitely sent that. again, sorry!
I have never used Basschat before and although I do understand what MB1 is, I had SO many messages it was insanity! I am sorry anyway!
10.
MB1. ...Seems First Refusal means Sweet F.A these Days!
I have never used Basschat before and although I do understand what MB1 is, I had SO many messages it was insanity! I am sorry anyway!
  11. Right, here are some images for current PM'ers and possibly other interested parties! I also found amongst the parts a Seymour Duncan 1/4" jazz bass bridge pickup, so just for the hell of it I can throw that in with the standard pickups too.
  12. As of now I am not open to any more offers! Currently dealing with the PM's I've already received, but if all of them fall through then this will be back open to offers, Cheers!
  13.
I used to have one of these, it was one of my (and my cat Spoetnik) favourite basses.... good luck with the sale (you won't have trouble selling it)
Lovely cat! Yeah, I have had it since 2005 and it has been my No. 1 bass - it has lived with me, and as I've said to some of the PM'ers I just fancy a change and to move onto something else. I will post a proper detailed account of the bass with pictures soon (time has escaped me lately) but for now, here is a picture I could muster from my FB (sorry about my gormless expression), http://img192.imageshack.us/img192/1932/19...46025506956.jpg I am right this second replying to PM's, Mike
  14. Hi all, I am brand new to the forums here but I very much look forward to contributing in the future. I have a Marcus Miller jazz bass in moderately used but good condition which, apart from creme DiMarzio Model J's (I still have the originals also), a Gotoh 201B and Hipshot vintage machine heads is original - the only thing really you would probably want to change back due to personal preference are the pickups, as the Badass II that came with standard with it became a pain in the butt and so did the machine heads! The 'cowbell' pickup cover is not attached but again would also be included I will be putting up pictures soon, but just for a ballpark figure to start off, I was looking for something like £460 O.N.O? It is a very striking looking bass as will be shown when I get round to taking some snaps! Thanks for reading anybody possibly interested? Any questions also, then please don't hesitate to ask.
