1. If you still can't see them I can email you with pics
2. Sorry to see this go, but a new baby equals bass sales so I'm freeing some of the flock. Limelight Precision I had made by Mark last year, very non-standard, a bit of a departure from his regular line. Features: Twin humbuckers Jazz profile neck Painted headstock Passive electronics Reverse headstock Beautifully aged Come with brand new Thomann hard case, never been used as I use a Mono Dual for all gigs. No trades unless you have a Bianchi Oltre XR4 55cm
3. Sadowsky MV4 - £1500 (typed in the wrong price in the header and now it won't change it, definitely £1500) Sorry to see this go, but a new baby equals bass sales so I'm freeing some of the flock. Sadowsky MV4 with a stunning maple neck and fretboard. Immaculate black finish. Comes with a spare tortoiseshell scratchplate in case you don't fancy the black one. Come with Sadowsky semi-hard case. No trades unless you have a Bianchi Oltre XR4 55cm I'd prefer collection, I just don't trust the mail service anymore.
4. This one above that I'm using weighs next to nothing and still has the tonal variety of the heavy monsters.
5.
But that's the best bit!
haha!
6. All built up and sounding huge. Sansamp runs direct into the Peavey IPR1600. The GK is a separate as a backup. All wired up to a tidy harness on the back to save fumbling around in the dark on stage.
7.
The JBS i bought from you is still kickin' ass.
Awesome. Its a killer bass!
8. Here's my Warmoth Jazz whiteout
9.
There's nowhere to put your thumb on a Ray.... Just sayin'....
10. Although its not the bass he's most known for, I'm surprised fender haven't cashed in with a signature model yet...
11.
Its a tricky riff but slow it down with a metronome and you can get it fingerstyle without too much bother. I have just about got it, and get a reasonable facsimile of the bernard tone with the bridge pickup on my roscoe beck with the tone almost or fully off. I have had a few compliments that it sounds like the record. I tried doing it using bernards 'finger plectrum' technique and its very awkward and painful, to be honest unless your doing it for personal reasons to nail it 100% i doubt anyone at a gig would ever hear the difference. I cant find a video where Jerry Barnes the current chic bass player plays that riff at all, they re-arrange it live. Perhaps even Jerry cant do it justice.
He's pretty much got it down... https://www.instagram.com/p/BJ_EjWLhKjD/
12. Brilliant!
13.
I bought a set of cream covers on EBay for my Precision and simply fitted them over the pickup that I had and liked. I'd looked at DiMarzio but this seemed the easiest sensible option. It cost me just a few quid.
Good plan! It does seem the only way to get a white musicman pickup is to buy a cheapo off ebay and just use the cover.
14.
Try Herrick pickups, I`m sure Martin will be able to sort something.
Lozz, have you used any of their pickups? Just asking as I've never heard of them before...
15. They seem to do great jazz in cream but no humbuckers/soapbars/musicman pickups sadly.
16. So I'm building a new bass. I'm looking for a jazz and a musicman pickup in white or cream. The jazz is easy enough as there's loads of replacement covers available, but does anyone know of a company who make great jazz and humbuckers in white or cream? Thx
17. I reckon that's the best bet. Cheap pickup, whip off the cover! S
18. I tried Ernie Ball, and no joy. They refuse to sell spares without me supplying the original serial from the bass. I gave them the serial for my Stingray and they wont sell me two white covers as my bass is a 4H, not a 4HH. (I wasn't planning on putting them on my Ray, but didn't tell them that).
19. Resurrecting this thread, has anyone found anywhere that sells them?
20. I know the feeling, at first I thought the GK MB500F was as good, then I plugged back into a GK1001RB and oh...
21. I've been all over the spectrum of amps, from the amazing but ridiculous Ampeg SVT Skunkworks which took 2 of us to lift it onto the 810, to the god awful GenzBenz Shuttle which needed repair after 2 months and sounded like cr*p for its entire life in my hands. I miss my GK 2001RB and the Skunkworks still, monster amps, but better when someone else is carrying it for you. Now settled with an Ampeg SVT-II non pro for the big gigs, Ampeg SVT-III non pro for everyday pub gigs, and a Sansamp RBI + Peavey IPR1600 for when we're limited on space in the cars or I have to carry it a long way. Oh, and there's a GK MB500 Fusion in the cupboard too just for fun.
22. Thanks mate!!
23. Thank you EBS Freak! Now to find someone who can solder for me....
