1. Hi Guys, We've managed to secure the bulk of the first UK shipment of Bass Whammy. These are now in stock. I won't post details here in case in breaches forum guidelines but we've put an offer for Basschat members in the Affiliates Forum here: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/233738-new-digitech-bass-whammy-in-stock-with-basschat-offer/ I hope that helps. Richard
2. It's not quite the same thing but it's a fair bit cheaper...the Boss PH-3 has a step phase mode which will get close. Not strictly an arpeggiator.
3. We have no end of testimonials from customers who have used this power supply with no noise: http://www.effectpowersupplies.com/9v-dc-regulated-power-supply-with-integrated-6-way-daisy-chain-2-p.asp
4. I don't know where in the country you are but, if it's any help, we have a lovely Blueburst Tribute M2000 in stock: http://www.effectpowersupplies.com/gl-tribute-m2000-bass-guitar-blueburst-3945-p.asp
5.
Will you be getting the 1U rack version?
Yes we will, but it's not out just yet.
6. Just wanted to remind you that today is the last day for ordering with the Basschat discount. The code expires at midnight tonight.
7. Hi All, Thanks for your replies. I am delighted to let you know that, for the sake of simplicity, we have set up a discount code on our website for the VT Bass DI. In line with forum rules, I cannot post it here, but you can take a look in the affiliates forum here: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/215150-basschat-special-offer-tech-21-vt-bass-di/ The discount code is valid until the end of August. Thanks. Richard
8.
Apparently effectspowersupplies have them http://www.effectpow...s-di-3989-p.asp
Yes, we certainly do have them in stock. Is there any appetite for us to do a Basschat offer? If we could get a minimum of 10 units then we would be able to work out a deal. I don't want to breach Basschat guidelines so this is not an explicit offer, merely gauging interest. Details of any offer would be posted in the Affiliates Forum. With regards to UK pricing versus US, this comes up a lot. As a UK retailer, we buy from the UK distributors. Our prices, as with everyone else's in the UK, includes VAT at 20%. The differences between UK and US prices come down to: 1) VAT at 20% which is included in the UK price whereas US prices are shown before any sales tax is added 2) Shipping and customs duty will have been paid on any importation into the UK 3) UK retailers will buy from the UK distributor (as opposed to directly from Tech 21) which adds another link to the supply chain and will need to be paid. The distributor adds value to the supply chain by upholding the warranty on the equipment (which will not be the case if something has been purchased from abroad), by marketing the brand in the UK, by managing the relationship with retailers to ensure the product is readily available for demonstration and sale, by offering technical support and by investing their money to make sure product is available at short notice. Any personal import into the UK is liable for: VAT, Customs Duty and the carrier's own Handling Charge. To under-declare values is illegal for both sender and recipient. Sure, some people have got away with it. But others haven't been so lucky. And then those that have got away with it may find out later that the pedal would not be covered by a UK warranty was not worth the saving.... We won't be able to match the US price but we are willing to offer the Basschat community something which I think will be attractive. If you could post your interest here, we'll monitor it and, if enough people want us to, we'll come up with an offer.
9. Feel free to give us a call to discuss your requirements. We're certainly not short of power supply options!
10. I'd recommend the Line 6 M6 as well. The quality of the effects is fantastic for a multi - many are comparable to single stompboxes. It's incredibly simple to use - by far the easiest interface of any multi. It's literally the DL4, MM4, FM4, DM4 and Verbzilla in one box (£900 of pedals) and we reduced the price of it last week to a ludicrously low price (I won't post it here in case it's against forum rules). It has to be one of the best bargains around right now.
11. Just to confirm, we now have the Deluxe Bass Big Muff in stock.
12. We're expecting ours next Monday 17th December. So, no guarantees, but it's looking good we'll be able to get any pre-orders out in time for Christmas!
13.
leftys??
Sadly no left handers at this time. Though with the incredibly positive reaction the Subs have received so far, I would have thought there will be some coming soon! Just a guess but it would certainly make commercial sense.
14.
There does seem (quite rightly, I suppose) to be a fair bit of interest in these basses. In view of that, I have set up a discount code on our website for Basschat members. Simply order any of the SBMM Sub basses online in the normal way here: http://www.effectpow...icman-194-c.asp At checkout, input discount code 'BCSUB' and you will qualify for a 5% discount as well as free UK delivery (excluding Highlands and Islands where there is a small surcharge). This will bring the price down to £284.05 for the 4-string and £312.55 for the 5-string. Note: there are a couple of people who have ordered already. Assuming they are on Basschat, if they can e-mail us quoting their order number, we will refund 5% back to their cards so that they have bought at the same price. We will let this offer run for the duration of July.
Hi guys, Just a quick reminder that our Basschat discount for the Sterling by Musicman Sub Basses will be coming to an end at Midnight on Tuesday.
15. We've sold quite a few of these now. Any feedback?
16.
any idea how light ? my daughter is wanting one and are you open on saturday i may come down pick it up hopefully with the bass chat discount
The shop is closed as I'm typing this so I'm not in a position to weigh the bass. Suffice to say that it's easily the lightest bass we have in stock. It's probably on a par with an Ibanez SR or similar so I'd guess at somewhere around the 7lbs mark. Yes, we're open on Saturday and we can offer you the Basschat discount in-store.
17.
Went back to see the basses and the walnut type top is going for £319 which seems to be the going rate.
Just £284.05 delivered if you use our discount code: BCSUB.
18.
Any idea what the 5 string nut width is? I can see the 38mm nut being a big selling point, a lot of folks ask about options for a Stingray with a narrower nut on here.
The nut width of the 5-string is 45mm according to our ruler!
19.
The walnut stain is really cool, Is the 5 string really only 38mm at the nut or is that a typo regarding the 4 string model? If I could get the 5 in the walnut with a 2 band EQ and the normal body/pickguard shape I would be all over this
The Walnut Stain is only available on the 4-string in Europe. 38mm nut width refers to the 4-string. That's the biggest difference between the Ray 34 and the Ray 4 in terms of feel in that the Ray 4 has the equivalent of the SLO neck (more like a Jazz bass while the Ray 34 is nearer to a Precision neck).

21. Well we got ours today. First impressions? Unbelievably good. It's very rare for me to say that, particularly at the lower end of the market, but I genuinely think that these are, for the sake of SBMM's more expensive models, too good! The guitars are great, but I'll focus on the Ray. First things first, this sounds and feels like a Stingray. Despite OLP's being great basses, I never felt they had the true Stingray sound, where the Sub has it in abundance. Likewise, we sell the Vintage EST96 which is another Stingray copy at a similar price and, while it sounds good, it's not really a Stingray sound. I've compared the Sub directly against the (twice as expensive) SBMM Ray34 and there is very, very little in it. That's comparing a 2-band (Sub) against 3-band eq (Ray34) but the basic tonality is virtually identical. The neck is a delight to play. And, unexpectedly for a Stingray, the bass is exceptionally light, no doubt due to the new tone woods they've used. Feel free to fire any questions at me. Anyone interested in trying one out, feel free to come in to the shop, or you can order over the phone as well as online: http://www.effectpowersupplies.com/sterling-by-musicman-194-c.asp
22. We're expecting to receive ours from the first shipment this week.
23. Our guitar tech used to work for Wal and even built basses for Justin Chancellor! He's also worked for Warwick basses, been on tour with various bands as a tech and is currently doing most of the tech work for the West End theatres. You're more than welcome to bring your bass to us.
