1. For what its worth no gap on my L2000.
2. I think I may have been the previous owner ... just to say the sound you can get out of this beast are amazing - if you can tame it. Although I never used it, I also think the dongle is a 9V converter.
3. Reviving an old thread here ... trying to get close as possible to the sound as this number is all about the effect (as many Muse basslines are). Having viewed threads here and on Talkbass, watched many YouTube clips I am guessing either a Digitech Synth Wah or EHX Bassballs is required. I have never ventured into the world of the envelope filter so any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Note I cannot afford an Akai Deep Impact even if I wanted to look for one!
4. Closed out a purchase of a Boss OC-2 from Shep last night - smoothest deal you could ask for - top 'chatter.... but you all knew that already!
5. I've put all the bits of advice together and got quite a list of things to look at .... all makes very good sense
6. Only had good experiences buying and selling on here - that said anything of significant cost (+ £100) I would normally do collection only as I want to see the goods ... which tends to reduce options - most things that interest me seem to be in Scotland!.
7. I'm a pretty average player. Got a good sense of rhythm, understand some theory and can learn average difficulty bass lines from tabs. Improvisation isn't really my thing. I don't have the time or application these days to go back to the basics and build from there - I just want to continue play live within the scope of may abilities. I love looking at basses in shops but have a bit of a challenge when I want to try one out - I know I am the man paying the money, but feel a bit inadequate that I cannot just pick up an instrument and play something that sounds sufficiently impressive to make the seller think I am a player ... I worry that I don't come across as a serious buyer and am dismissed as a time waster. Same applies when or trying out before buying off a fellow 'Chatter - I bought a Ric a couple of years ago and knew the seller was a top notch player (I had seen his clips on You Tube) ... after playing a few pentatonic runs I handed the bass to him to show me what it could do. Anybody got any suggestions how I can address my concerns? Who knows - if I get more confident I may be a buyer for your bass one day!
8. It has been said many times before in this thread but +1 for Gaf. Have no hesitation in dealing with him. Bought his Art Powermix - great bit of kit in A1 condition and sent promptly.
9. Bought a Yamaha RBX364 from Geoff. Closed the deal out Sunday, got the bass on Wednesday via a courier. The bass is exactly as described and came very well packaged (Geoff arranged the courier). As a buyer I could not wish for a better seller. Have no hesitation in dealing with Geoff.
10.
This guy is from this Forum , using the nickname obbm he has made many of us here high quality hand soldered cables for a good price. The main thing is he can make you whatever type of jack and whatever type of lead, at whatever length you specify. (whatever!) I have bought a few cables from him and both are still going strong. I dont know him to speak to, however usually when he is mentioned he gets dozens of people saying how good his stuff is, so he must be pretty ok at what he does.
+1 for obbm ... although I guess this would run to +100+ very quickly if he received the number of endorsements he is due from this forum. I just wish I had found this forum before I got my first bass ... advice like this is like golddust. For my part, buy used kit from the marketplace - it just gives great value for money.

13. If you don't mind a drive to the West Midlands I would recommend http://www.prioryrecordingstudios.com/
14. Got a couple of possibilities - guess I am finding out the downside of owning a G& L
15.
Just did a search but can't find it now. You could try asking here http://www.bassesbyl...forum/index.php
Yes thanks - I registered for this forum today plus a couple of other feelers
16. Where, when and why I have no idea BUT I looked at my beloved G&L L2000 today and noticed that two components on the bridge - a screw and spring that mount into the saddle - are missing I do not normally fiddle with bass components other than change strings - they were there when I last did a swop - so can anyone point me to where I can get proper replacement parts? Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

18. OMG - this is gorgeous ... and fortunately way out of my price league.
19. Dan bought my MXR Blow Torch. He is a model Basschatter - have no fears about dealing with him ... great comms, prompt payment. I could not have asked for a smoother transaction.
20.
Bump for a great pedal. I've just been using batteries with mine. Where did you get the 18v adapter?
Got it in the deal when I bought it a while ago. These things look pretty rare.
