1. Hi all. The first frets on my Warwick are buzzing like mad. I've played with the trussrod a bit and have gone with the idea the truss rod is shot. Of course I will take it to be looked at professionally before doing any work to it, but I'm just brainstorming (sorry, mind-mapping ) at the moment. I've seen a few guides to removing fretboards on the net, and feel I have a grasp of how to do it, plus I feel confident in it working out okay, however, how difficult is the removal and replacing of the truss rod for a new one? Do I have to get a genuine Warwick one? My next idea was to make a fretless maple fingerboard. Could I buy a maple fingerboard blank and use the old one to get a 'trace' for the new one? This might be the ramblings of a noob DIY'er, but I'm not sure how much the cost of having a professional doing it would be. Thanks guys Will
2. The Tele would be lovely if it was without that bridge pickup.

11. Probass Vintage Modified I bought this bass with the intention of modifying it, putting an MM pickup in the bridge and so forth, but lost interest. The tuners and control plate have been swapped out for black ones, but I can easily switch them back if desired? In any case, they'll be provided in the sale. These basses are from the same person who imports the Retrovibe RV4s, which prove to be very popular on these forums. Its a nice bass, would make a good bass for starting out, or as a backup, and really looks the part. It hasnt left my house since arrival, and is in great condition. Official specs are Model: Probass JB-VM Body Colour: Black Scratchplate: White Control Plate: Chrome Controls: 2 x Volume, 1 x Tone, 1 x Series/Parallel switch Bridge: 4-string chrome, top-load Pickups: 2 x Jazz Bass Neck: Maple Fretboard: Rosewood Frets: 22 Width at nut: 37mm Width at heel: 63mm Markers: Applied mother-of-pearl block markers Tuners: Chromed open-gear type Looking for £70 + postage Trades for an acoustic bass or bass combo? 12. Any chance of getting the dimentions of the neck at the heel? Thanks!
13. Strung it up and its a little better. When I roll the tone right off it disappears, but with it on its buzzing like hell. Also, when I have both pickups on, it sounds really honky, not rich like how I was used to. Have I wired it out of phase?

15. One string, I only put it on to try it out. I haven't soldered the ground to the bridge, I didn't realise I had to, it certainly didnt come like that.
16. So I've followed the diagram above, but I've come stuck with the bridge ground wire? I've soldered it to the bridge vol control with the ground from the bridge pickup, but it's still buzzing. Have I done something terribe? or is it to do with the black control plate not having shielding? Thanks!
17. Awesome, thanks a lot guys I'll have a play later
18. Awesome, thank you ou7shined, much appreciated. What about pickup wires? Unfortunately they arent they usual red and black
19. Would anyone be able to give me some advice on wiring up my jazz? I need help as to where to wire the pickups, including a series/parallel switch. I'm also a bit new with this, so not sure which wires from the pickups are + and -, but I have photos which if you'd be kind enough to have a look at, hopefully will shed some light on it. Controls are volume/switch/volume/tone. Thanks alot guys! rapscallion
20. I'd love to know what happened to the RD I sold to brycebites, last I saw he'd re-made the pickguard (it was warped to buggery) and swapped the P and J's for Darkstars. Real shame I let that bass go, even in its butchered state
21. Can anyone suggest a reliable tech in the Chichester area? I'd like to have the neck on my Warwick looked at to see if its a goner or not. Thanks guys!
22. I second a yellow bass thread, as soon as I'm home I'm getting hold of a TV Yellow Jazz. It's going to be beautiful
