1. Nice playing and nice recording! I must get out and see Russ next time he's local...
 2.
It did annoy me quite a bit as it questions my ability and i just feel that if they wanted a pick player they should have auditoned that fact and not taken a fingerstyle bassist. Dave
Try not to think of it like that. Everyone has that certain "sound" in their head on a certain track. It's even worse when it's in a covers band scenario. Yes, you are the bass player. But you are also a band member. How many times have you bitten your tongue at the way the singer phrases a particular line? Or the sound that the keyboard player selects? Of the volume of the guitarist? In the same way, they might all have different ideas about what the bass should be playing or how it "should" sound. They are entitled to their opinions, but equally that doesn't make them right! What's to be lost by giving the pick a try? At least it shows that they are listening to the bass part in the first place!! I'm predominantly a fingers player, but in a cover band there are certain tracks that you need a pick for. IMO of course.
 3.
pm'd
And replied!
 4.
Darn!! i really want this guitar but i dont have money untill payday!!!
Tell me about it! Mrs C was recently made redundant, so unless we can sell a few superfluous items its going to be a pretty modest Christmas... No pressure guys!
 5.
interested in a trade for an explorer electric?
I was looking at that! Cool shape, but unfortunately I am trying to sell two guitars to raise some cash for Christmas!
 6. Bump for the addition of pictures.
 7.
Any pix yet, Conan?
Hopefully this evening... But I'm no longer interested in your pickups. Sorry!
 8.
pictures please
Sorry about that! Will take some this evening. Please note though that I have plenty of positive feedback on here and the lack of pictures should not be taken as me attempting to hide anything. Condition is exactly as described.
 9. I've not bought strings from them (yet!), but I did buy a hard case several months ago. Delivery time was much longer than I have grown to expect - but I guess it was not ridiculously slow - about two weeks.
 10. Bought two years ago from NJE on here. Original thread: http://basschat.co.u...__1#entry711085 This lovely guitar has served my teenage daughter well, but she has decided to concentrate on her keyboard playing. Condition is still as described in NJE's thread (except that the plastic knob on the pick-up selector is missing - can be replaced for coppers), but the guitar stand is no longer part of the deal as I'm keeping it! Lovely action. Lovely tone and very 'playable' - even for a fat-fingers like myself. An ideal intermediate instrument and a great potential Christmas present! Comes with a gigbag and a fitted DiMarzio locking strap. I'm happy to package it up if the buyer arranges their own courier, but would prefer local collection or meet-up if possible. I have plenty of positive feedback, so buy with confidence! Thanks.
 11.
For a tiny but disproportionately destabilising minority, it might be a badge of honour.
The BassChat ASBO?! I like it already!
 12.
Show me the Squier, Conan? Anything wrong with it?
Nothing wrong with it other than the fact that it has two too many strings and plays high notes! Bought it for my son in the summer... It's red with a maple board, through-body stringing. Nice looker and player. He wants some stupid pointy "rock" guitar instead... His loss. Will take some pix this afternoon.
 13. Would you be interested in swapping the pickups and a tenner for my Squier Telecaster? I can deliver as I will be passing through East Lothian on friday (probably).
 14. You don't fancy swapping the Hammers for a Squier Telecaster I suppose? Shy bairns get nowt...
 15.
couple of weeks, let me know if its still available waiting for wages!!
I'm hoping it will be gone by then, but with the market being the way it currently is it could well still be here at the beginning of December!
 16.
Is it a maple board?
It is indeed! Body is red. Through-body stringing. Quite heavy but not unwieldy...
 17.
Mine is KT Tunstall - Suddenly I See. Anyone else think this song has one of the best recorded bass sounds ever? So....anyone else got any songs that they just love to listen to because of the bass tone?
Dunno if it's one of the best ever (if such a thing exists when tone is such a subjective quality), but I've been listening to that album a lot recently and I love that sound too! In fact it was used on Nigel Slater's Simple Suppers programme last saturday morning (repeated tonight at 7:30!). I really like John Giblin's sound - especially on Cliche by Fish from the Vigil album. Geddy Lee's tone on Fly by Night is nice too. Chris Squire on Roundabout (goes without saying!). Marcus Miller on David Sanborn's Run for Cover. Jeff Berlin on Bill Bruford's Either end of August. Hmmm. You got me thinking now!
 18. I bought this guitar on here a few months ago for my 14 year old son. He has now decided that he doesn't like Teles. Typical teenager! I'm no expert on six strings, but this guitar looks good and plays very well. Nice action and tone - typical telecaster in fact! Comes with a cheap gigbag for protection and portability. Original sale thread here - http://basschat.co.u...aster-for-sale/ Great condition. Will post if necessary but would prefer local pick up. Thanks for looking! Will get some pix up when I get home this evening, but you all know what these things look like. 19. Crikey! That amp must be HUGE!! THey look as though they were made for each other
 20. Jon drove up from Leeds to collect my big ol' Trace Elliot cab last night. A lovely lad and the comms were a pleasure. He paid cash and was a delight to deal with. Thoroughly recommended - even though he is a newbie! Trade with confidence!
 21.
Damn it... I was hoping you'd give up and sell it to me for £20!!! Bugger...
You were next on the list!
