IMO there is question around whether it's reasonable to advertise it as such, without being open about how the figure is arrived at.
Yeah, I see that too.
Line6 POD X3 LIVE. Because real amps and cabs are a pain in the arse (heavy, expensive, limited sounds), and because I can get almost any sound I want from the POD, loads of amp, cab and mic sims in a tiny box
But only if you play in venues with good PA systems, or you take your own. But real PA amps and cabs are a pain in the.... see above!

I prefer to judge an amp by the way it sounds and the features it has, rather than some arbitrary value like its (supposed or otherwise) power output.
Nice one Martin.......thinking about dismantelling this beauty and selling everything seperately....Neck,pups,body,emg's, hiscox case and baddass bridge....shame, but would probably get more that way.....
Shame indeed! If only I could shift my Spector...
What is hohner in relation to steinberger? Is it a fender squier scenario or is it just a range that steinberger do?
Two completely different companies. Some of the Hohner headless basses are well thought of - especially the "Jack bass" which is modelled on a Status series II (kind of). £350 is probably about right, but then again it is a buyer's market at the moment!
Hartke LH500 and a BF Compact.
Snap! Good innit?
if you start getting third parties like Visa involved then it's only going to complicate matters.

Definitely give visa a ring. let Visa know whats going down.

I wuold not give up contacting Visa
Basschat advice at it's consistent best! -
Sure it's a Steinberger and not just "Steinberger system" or some similar wording? Pictures would help...
It seems I own an amp that's the holy grail of bass amps but not much interest in it. .
The market is very depressed at the moment, and the Valve Trace stuff is rather a niche product. Not a good combination if you are a seller
The volume control, on mine at least, isn't at all linear. The volume really takes off from about 6 upwards. Below that there's lots of control at lower volume. From what I've read, they're all like that, but don't take my word for it...
I would agree 100% on that!
I am a bit dubious about changing pickups on any O.K - sounding bass. Swapping a set that are absolutely crap for some decent ones will make a big improvement , but swapping one fairly respectable - sounding pickup for another supposedly superior upmarket one can all to often end up being a sideways move
Now that we do agree on! A lot of people try to convince us that their Nordstrands, Lollars et al are a massive step up tonally, but I can't help wondering if they are trying to convince themselves after shelling out such a lot of money? -
there's a Spector 6 with a quilt maple top in my local Cash Converters (London). I have no idea if it's fairly priced, but it seemed a reasonable price for any kind of 6 to me.
Depends where it was made, and what they are asking. In the photo it looks like £425? Bargain of the century if it is a US or a Euro (highly unlikely!!). If it is one of the various far east incarnations, it varies from a good deal to a fair price. More info needed!
Just keep at it...slow it down...get it right slow, then speed up. Trust me, this applies to virtually all of us on here I think.
Absolutely! I remember learning Muse's Hysteria for an audition a few years ago. Took me ages until I slowed it down. Once I Had the notes I could gradually speed it up again. Now I can play it faster than necessary, which is, of course, unnecessary.
Spending a lot of money on some replacement pickups for a budget bass is unlikely to make it sound that much better or even hugely different , in my experience. Anyway, if you were going to start swapping parts on that bass , I would look at upgrading the bridge at the same time as I would the pickups .
Interesting! My experiences are completely the opposite! Doesn't make yours wrong of course (or mine) but just shows how differently people perceive things. I've found that a new (and decent) set of strings makes the biggest difference. Then pickups (which don't have to be all that expensive, but it is worth doing your research first). Tuners can be a cheap but worthwhile improvement. IME, "upgrading" the bridge makes little or no difference to the sound or playability of the instrument. YMMV, caveat emptor, IME, IMO, etc!! -
All my BC purchases have been agreed by PM but I've then always swapped mobile phone numbers so that any changes to agreed arrangements can be easily communicated.
Yep, me too. Good advice though!
