2. Boss TU2 in great condition with box, manual and Boss leaflet. My new combo has a built in tuner and im using a mini headstock tuner for live stuff. Works exactly as it should. £40 collected from Bolton or can deliver locally (if youre quick im off to the Villa game on Saturday, could drop off in Brum) £45 if you want it posted in UK
3. Im seriously considering switching my Ampeg SVT and 410HLF for an Orange AD200 and 410! Good luck with the sale
4. I did try the CTM range being a big ashdown fan. Didnt like them at all, a bit lifeless and stetile. Loved the DP200 tho!
5. Toying with the idea of swapping out my Ampeg SVT & 410 HLF for an Orange AD200 and OBC410 (toying in the very earliest stages of the sense, I just LOVE my ampeg). Weight isnt an issue for me, ive been playing all valve rigs for a while and NEVER had that tone from anything else (emulators, pedals, digital thingymabobs, modellers) its just I don’t need a full 300w valve power for what im doing nowadays. I have toyed with the idead of the V4BH that’s on here at the moment but think Id need more than 100w as i like a reasonably clean valve tone, certainly not full on fuzz/distortion but a tiny bit of breakup is good hence me looking at smaller wattage valve heads. There are plenty of Orange AD200 Vs Ampeg SVT threads on talkbass but some over there are so Ampeg biased I don’t feel im getting a true experienced opinion Has anyone here had both of these amps and can shed some light on their differences other than power and earlier break-up of the AD200? I play 99% of the time with a flats loaded P bass. I love old school thump with a nice warm valve tone and the slightest hint of break-up on the lower register. Price wise I would hop that my fully re-valved ampeg would cover me for the AD200 but would need to 'top up' as it were for the matching OCB410
6. Ive never had a problem with their service or products - just their prices!
7. I got a set from Lord Of Strings website last week. First time ive used this company but they were really good. Only place i could find with any stock of them
8. Anyone got one of these all-valve combos? Joined a new band that is playing much smaller places and so im considering selling the SVT rig for something more modest. Only stipulation that it has to be all valve – no emulators/pedals or any of that stuff, proper all-valve. My current valve combo is a WEM that dispite having a marvellous tone just doesn’t quite have the balls against 2 x Marshal 80w valvestates and a reasonably loud drummer. I think I could realistically get around £900 for the SVT rig and ive seen some second hand TV 15’s around £500. Im playing indie/mellow rock with a flats loaded P bass, flats loaded telebass and depending on how mch I have left over from the downgrade a Gibson midtown. Anyone have any experience of them? What valves do they take? Clean headroom?
9. Probably my 4th or 5th plate from the doc. Fits perfectly as usual!
10. for me its a 1962 P Bass, Ric 4005, 1957 P Bass and a Gibson EB2
11. In short - No. All these emulaters, modellers and pedals - im yet to use or hear anything that comes remotely close to THAT all valve sound
12. 6550’s and 2 x 12AX7’s gone
13. mmmmmm priddy glass
14. I spent a good few hours A/Bing this cab and their CL-610 with a Spyder 550 head. This cab was streets ahead of the CL one. Much tighter, deeper, defined etc etc. Was really impressed with it (not at all impressed with the CL cab tho, very average).
15. Ill keep an eye out Cheers. Not really looking to sell as i guess they will only increase in value the longer i keep them, just intrigued really
16. Sorted through my old box of goodies (mainly valves) and i came across a set of 1976 precision bass pups that i bought as back-up years ago. Did a google search and cant find much on them price wise. Any of our vintage Fender crew have any ideas as to what these could fetch? All original apart from the leads which were replaced with cloth covered vintage looking wire
17. SVT through an 810e. With my flats loaded P bass - just pure sex!
18. Mmmmmmmm Ampeg valves, that's amp porn right there. Congrats on the amp, im sure you'll love it!
19. +1 for Roland, does all my valve stuff
20. Yup. Epiphone Rivoli. Gassed for years, got one, went within 2 months
21. I used to be a massive Ashdown fan, still love the tone but the thing that got me was their power ratings. They just never seemed to have the juice they claimed. I used an ABM500 through a 414T cab and it was OK, i replaced the head with a Hartke HA3500 and it seemed 10 times as loud!
