  1. PS the old Super 12 from Gen 2 had the option of without tweeter (Super 12) or with tweeter (Super 12T)
  2. Not quite. The Super Twin is the Gen 3 2x12, no tweeter included. The Big Twin 2 is a Gen 3 behemoth, the cab for the 12s is tuned lower (I think) and it has a compression driver. It’s designed to be a reasonably FRFR option in a passive cab.
  3. In my experience I found the Gen 2 drivers more harsh/brittle sounding. The more customised drivers they have in Gen 3 sounded “rounder” and smoother if that makes sense?
  4. Just been involved with @petecarlton’s first transaction on Basschat (I bought a cab off him) and it was sublime. Excellent, quick comms and information all along the process, excellent packaging and item bang on. Deal with confidence
  5. New year, new cab for my ABM for all these gigs I’ve got coming up 😂 ... 😢
  6. Lockdown video #6492756 or something. This is a play thru of the song “Nobody” by Winterville. I removed the bass using one of those AI things and then stuck my own poor-man’s version of the bassline on instead. It’s really been done to show off the Ashdown OriginAL pedal because I think it sounds ace, it’s responsive to the dynamics of my (ham-fisted) playing and ultimately sounds (to me) like a valve amp at full tilt. EDIT: I’m case you care, the bass is my ACG Skelf 32”. Limba body, ash neck, rosewood board. Two reverse P pickups and P retro preamp. For this I just used the neck pickup and set the bass to passive with the tone about 3/4 up. Enjoy. Or don’t. 😄
  7. I chuckled at that. Almost like they don't quite understand what they're talking about
  8. I’m not sure anyone’s ever written a song about sex.
  9. If I were in a band that was going to be doing loads of gigs post-lockdown... sigh. What a fantastic rig! GLWTS
  10. @richardd is selling one right now! #helping
  11. Here we go, as influenced by @Stofferson
  12. Another cracking rig It's a good point about the amp being light - the beauty of the original RM800 and the EVO models is they are heavier at around 5kg so they have more holding them down on the cab. Maybe that's enough reason for me to not get over excited about an EVO ii
  13. No good angle for me 🤣
  14. I love this pic. I need to do a family shot again too, will get on it later. Too much shiny chrome on my amps though s you'll see my ugly mug in the reflection
  15. Nice! I love the new look of the black fascia and silver housing. The tart in me would actually swap my chrome-fronted one for one of these if the opportunity arose
  16. Yep I start with all flat. Shape In or Out depends on what I'm playing and who with. Quiet home practice etc it tends to be in, but as I get louder and need to cut through the mix more I take it out. A little bit of drive and compression, crank to ear-bleeding level, grin from ear to ear.
  17. This. if you like the sound with one speaker, get a second identical speaker and it’ll be more of the same great sound. Adding different sized drivers into the mix can be quite unpredictable.
  18. An ACG Finn not too far off this beauty; that’s a holly top and is just gorgeous
  19. Here’s my RM800 EVO, atop a Barefaced One10. This was December, it actually made it out of the house for four shows over a weekend. Great amp, one of 3 Ashdown heads I own. @Reggaebass and I clearly have similar taste because one of my other heads is a Little Bastard
  20. The passive input is higher impedance than the active, whilst there’s also a -20dB reduction in gain on the active input. I never use the active input on any of my amps!
  21. My company has two Polish factories, and they’ve had at least one day’s national holiday this week. They often then bridge that to the weekend (because they never, ever fall on a Monday like here!) - you may find that they’re just a bit thin in the ground and will be up to full staff compliment and speed again next week. Fingers crossed for a good resolution
  22. Eden were screwed over by US Music Group in the early 2000s (who also had Washburn amongst others) - it has been Marshall who's brought them back from the brink and introduced new lines. IIRC US Music did to Eden similar to what Gibson had done to Trace, i.e. buy cheaper components and outsource manufacture so quality dipped. Add that to no new product launches for years... WRT to Korg/Aguilar, I can see potential for a catastrophe or a shrewd win for both parties.. Hopefully the latter if, as has been mentioned already, Korg use their muscle to get Aguilar in more places than they already are and use their far bigger financial clout to support them through these tough times.
  23. Classy, understated. Nice! Get it over on the Show Your Rig thread too
  24. That's a shame, I was about to buy a new one - I have the older design with only a front opening. The dual front/rear openings to allow the amp to stay in the bag is a much better idea!
  25. The bag is well worth it, I dropped my RM800 out of a car last year and it landed on its corner. The bag has a hole in it now where the chassis pierced it but that was it. Amp is absolutely fine
