1. With your budget buying second hand would be my preference - much more for your money
2. How did it go?
3. Sounds like it's one of the new TE combos so they'll be 200W Celestion drivers I think, and in my (albeit limited) experience their new cabs are better than the mid 90s stuff.
4. The Ashdown Touring/Spyder amps were designed to be clean valve preamps, not dirty
5. I believe Eude and Doddy both run them so hopefully one will pop along soon with some words
6. I played thru a Series 5 4x10 combo at a local festival last week, it sounded great with everything set flat. Great amp, probably their finest hour along with the Series 6 and V-Type stuff! Struggling with my conscience at the moment wrt the V-Type head in the FS section at the moment....
7. Bought a Hartke cab for a friend, Cliff was an absolute pleasure to deal with, thanks
8. Damn I was driving past Wimborne earlier, should have made a pit stop!! Great amp, still my favourite SS head ever (ok it has the valve in the pre...) GLWTS
9. Here's my all valve baby (and some other bits and bobs!) No longer own the ACG but there's a new one in the early stages of being built
10. If I didn't have an all valve head it would be this or the MB fusion, and this is a silly price for such an amp. It can't last the week surely? GLWTS
11. Free for anyone who wants to collect it from Reigate! Bit dusty and a touch tagged around the edges but perfectly good still
12. A lot of the Compact/Midget pairs are the Gen 2 cabs, I'm not aware of anyone running the Gen 3 Compact and Gen 3 Midget together I'n afraid. I run two Super Compacts with my Ashdown CTM100 valve head and it's heavenly Never liked tweeters tho...
13. I'll have the Fusion back if you're selling....
14. Sold Tony a GK MB200, absolute gent and a pleasure to deal with - thanks!
15. Bump for a top chap to deal with and some silly-priced cabs
16. Looks great! This sort of thread makes me more and more excited about my custom Finn which is in its infancy
17. Oh my
18.
I've been looking at these enviously for a while now, seem too good to be true for the price. Might be a bit much for bedroom rock though!
Buy mine.....
19. I have two of these at the mo, one for sale as two is a bit daft when I also have an Ashdown CTM100 and ABM500 at my disposal! Cracking amp though, will always have one in my arsenal
20.
As far as I'm concerned this basically comes down to one thing....Practice. If you are thinking and worrying about what to play next, while playing music that you regularly play, then you probably don't know the material well enough. Likewise, if you've learnt a cool lick or line and you try to force it into a song, chances are you haven't practiced it enough because if you had it would become a part of your playing without having to think about it and force it. Minds wander and mistakes happen but when they do, you know what you need to practice. This brings me to another point....If you're thinking about your own playing, you're not listening. If you're not listening, you probably aren't grooving. When you're on the bandstand you should be listening and reacting to the music and the other musicians. Leave the conscious thinking in the practice room
Spot on. I know I don't practice enough and that's precisely why I sometimes overthink things and they don't come off. Whenever I'm just letting the music flow and grooving with the band without trying anything extra-clever it is all grand Basically I need to practice more, something I am now able to address after many years of excuses why I can't!
