    digitech?

been looking out for a distortion pedal for a while, and i think i have found it!the digitech overdrive/distortion.tried one out in a shop but not live.had a quick search through the search but but just want other peoples opinions on them.how do they compare sound wise to the mxr m80 and blowtorch?i found the digitech much fuller sounding than the boss.
  5. Thanks for that. I really like the american standard fender jazzes, but build is usually better with the g and l's.there has been some concern made about the g and l pickups not being jazzy ebough, so i will look into this further. do you know what sort of money they go for?the sb2 and also the jb2?thanks,tim
  6. Right then, whilst I was trying to sell my G & L, even though it did not, it turns out there are loads of G and L fans out there from all the interest I had. I have now decided not to sell, turns out it will be coming in pretty handy soon enough. Anyway, as far as their Jazz basses go,how do they compare to the Fender jazzes? and even the lakland/sadowsky jazzes? Any info would be great, tim
  7. Keeping the G and L so it will be coming too.
  8. I will be there if thats cool. Nothing exciting to bring though. If my G and L aint sold I will bring that. T
  9. anyone here use reverb pedals bass wise? also looking into a really good bass distortion pedal.bass heavy buy really adaptable too.any ideas would be greatful.t
  10. A few that I have picked up,and some of my friends finds.... I had a Warwick Thumb 5, new, on finance.there was a mistake with the finance company,I ended up paying £250. About ten years ago. I recently picked up a Mesa Boogie 2x15 diesel cab for £150. My mate was fitting a P.A system in a church in the area a few years back,as he was feeding leads under te stage floor,he hit his elbow. Put his torch on and saw the word" MARSHALL" looking back at him. It was one of those plexi heads from the 70's. They told him he could have it,they didnt know it was there. He put £50 into their kitty. My builder mate was converting some guys garage, when he went to give a quote, he noticed some amps. They got talking and the guy didnt play any more and told him he could have the lot. Most of it was crap but there was a mint custom Carlsbro 50 top in there, and it sounds amazing. And attic guitars do exist.....I think the crack convertor bargains are a myth though. I check all the time but nothing!

    Software?

Just purchased myself an m audio fast track pro interface and an m audio oxygen 8 midi board.what i need now is some software!i have reason, and fruit loops. i am looking for something that can make industrial sounding drum tracks, something pretty heavy/nasty sounding.any help would be great as this is all new to me.t
  16. One of the newer boogie combos possibly? If not, cab wise i suggest you look for the aguilar 12's.awesome,big sound.t
  17. The newer stuff seems to be ok then? It still does not stop my gas for an old M2000 though! Does anyone know how the old boogie cabs compare to the newer ones?
  18. Why are there so many bad reviews on the Boogie Bass heads? Apart from the 400 obviously. I have always wanted an old M2000, and am thinking about the M9 head but they seem to be very unreliable. Whats everyone elses opinions on them?
  19. Not me either. This thread is great. Complete bollocks but great. Keep it up guys.T
  20. did anyone hear own one/try one? just want some info on them please.liked a few players that used them .t
  21. only ever been to denmark street a couple of times.i found the old guy in the bass cellar to be ok.but.... after about twenty minutes of talking to him some girl walked in and he went bezerk. he hit the roof with her.called her all sorts.looked like there was an argument between him and some other shop and she was seeing one of the guys in the other shop.she went out in tears,he turned round and carried on as normal.but was nice to me.i heard he passed away notlong after,in the shop too i think?anyone know anything about this?t
  22. Defo up for this. How big a place do you think we would need?T
  23. Endorsements are not always what they seem. My mate was in with ampeg for a while and it was more hassle than it was worth. They did an Euro tour and he was having to pick up a new amp from a different store every few days. He was not allowed to keep one for the two months, it seemed to be a pain. Im in negotiations at the moment, will keep you posted.T
  24. Right then... MTD 435, Spector Rebop 4, G & L l2000. Amp Wise really happy with what I have so.. Mesa Boogie 2x15, Top end qsc power amp, get Peavey to Custom Build a New Max Bass Pre Amp for me.
  25. I have a spector legend 4 string.its got the emg hz pickups and I love everything about the bass. but, the tone knobs dont do anything.anyone else had this problem? and the volume controls aint really that sensitive.they are basically either on or off.the whole inside could do with a tidy up so where do i start? never done anything like this before so help please?t
