  1. Used in the studio twice.Used in a few rehearsals. Awesome pedal. £50 posted. Tim
  2. Thanks for that. What are the best DR's for rock type stuff. They have got too much choice!!!! T
  3. Looking to try out some new strings on my L2500. Thinking about a 40.60.80.100.120 set! At the moment im using 45.65.85.105.125. How much difference can the extra.5 make? Less bottom end? Any tips before I order some strings would be good, thanks. T.
  4. Have been using BEADG for years but been playing with a pick loads lately and it would be nice to have the open e ring out on top!also to drop it to d for punk/rock/hardcore pick playing This tenor tuning thing may work out for me as it goes.maybe some big overdriven chord work to fill stuff out.pretty excited about it,will give it a go and see how i get on!thanks all,t
  5. Hi all. Does anybody here tune their 5 string E A D G ( is it high C)?I want the traditional EADG tunings but on this bass if that makes sense! Any info would be cool. Also if you can think of any pro players that do this kind of thing so I could check it out somewhere! Thanks, T
  6. Hi, does anybody know where I can check out some sounds clips of one of these in action please? Cant find any anywhere. thanks, T
  7. Damn. I could really see this working for me, seriously. For my solo bits and stuff. Anyone got an idea on price. I like the look of it too.....
  8. My list. My mother grew up with John Cale! Were good friends. John Rhys Davies is my cousin (Gimley off Lord of the Rings). I met Dave Benson Philips when he stayed in my brother house about 15 years ago, that was weird. Really nice guy though. I bumped into Tim Curry at Paddington station, he had a massive head and face. Argued with the drummer from Catatonia and got dragged off him by my mate. Hywel and Alun Bennett are from my village and come back every now and again to prop the local bars up, nice guys.
  9. Cheers guys. Meeting up with their drummer this week to go over their stuff. This program looks like it could be used to good effect though. Its pretty funny, the stuff they sent me on this guitar pro business sounds like old Sega sound samples.
  10. Will be trying out for a new band this week. They are awesome! Really want it to work out. They will be sending me their stuff and told me to use guitar pro. Can someone please explain this to me as I have never heard of it. Im guessing its a tabbing program by the looks of it! Any help would be great though. Thanks in advance, Tim.
  11. Right then. My Spector Rebop Dlx 4 Trans Black is on order. The only other bass on my list is an MTD 435! I have never tried one but by looks alone it is the only other Bass I am gassing for, and have for about 6 years. There was an Aguilar advert with the guy from Hoobastank crouched in front of a massive Aguilar rig holding an MTD 535 with a Zebrawood finish. I hate to admit that an advert made me want something, but the whold set up worked for me. Anyway, how similar would an MTD sound to a Spector Bolt on? Anybody A/B'd them? I think I will have many options available sound wise between my G & L and the Rebop, but I "Want" the MTD! Someone put me out of my misery and tell me they are crap! Please. T
  12. Try both, But buy the G & L!!!! Seriously though, My G & L has always been great. I have lent it to people for recording stuff from Jazz to Thrash and results have always been outstanding. A friend who owns a Music Man often borrows it. But like others say, If your really into that Ray you have tried, buy it or you will regret it forever. Like I do when I didnt buy a Wal fretless for £500 a few years back........ Still upsets me. T

    Spector!

It looks like I will be going for a Rebop! Trans black dlx four string! Will let you all know how I get on. I love My korean one that I got defretted, so if these are a bit of a step up it should be sweet!!!!

    Spector!

Looking into a new four string. Its either going to be a Korean legend, or one of the Re bop bolt ons from Europe. Just a gigging stage bass really. As far as I know both hese basses have exactly the same hardware and pickups/pre amps! Are the woods the same? Any opinions greatfully received. T

    Pedal order!

Bit of a follow on from my last post regarding power supplies. If i did get hold of a Korg pitchblack could I power my boss oc2 and digitech bass distortion from it? That would mean that I would not need my maplin power supply. And which order should they go in? Thanks, T.
  16. I have been using a multi pedal power supply from maplins for the last 6 years or so. Cost me about 20 quid. Is there any difference between one of these and say the mxr or voodoo labs units? apart from about 100 quid difference?tim
  17. I gigged a db 680 for a few years and thought it was great.I will need a new high powered head in the not too distant future and it I will be going for either the 750 or 751 me thinks!thanks for all the info guys.T
  18. Anyone got one? How much do they differ from the 750? And can they do the Orange/Matamp drive business?T
  19. GET A G & L. Sorted. The Warwicks are good, but I think the Music Man will give you more.
  20. Sold this man a Peavey Max Bass Pre Amp. Really good to deal with, no issues whatsoever! Thanks for an easy transaction.T
  21. The other day I tried out a Sandberg Ken Taylor 5 string in City Music, Birmingham. Through a Mark Bass combo. I have never even thought of trying one before. Dont like the idea of them, dont like the look of them. But what happened next was ridiculous. It ripped my face off! It was as loud as anything. Clear as hell and articulate. Im not sure what model it was. It had one speaker. Maybe a 12? I asked to try the Sandberg out with another amp to see how much of it was the guitar/amp. It was definately the amp. So sorry for dissing you Mark Bass users in the past.It wont happen again. Fair play to the guys in City Music too. Top blokes indeed!!!!
  22. I have a two unit head in a four unit flightcase. I want to keep my pedals on their board in the empty space. Anybody know where I can get a flightcase mounted pedal board from? Seen loads of touring bands use these type of things. T

  24. are the line 6 dl4 and echo park any good basswise? seem to have good features.
  25. Here we go! Aggie 4x12's are awesome. Best Live cab I ever owned. Kills every other cab I ever owned Live. Most of my time these days is spent recording/writing. The boogie I find is more suited to me for this. Easier to get about and sounds deeper. To me! If Aguilar brought out a 2x15 I would be there! I would probably get two! Any signs of them making one? Or has the Mark Bass Brigade put an end to such things!
