1. There are some posts on the site about using the Acoustic foam stands to reduce boom etc. grammys? Being a little broke but feeling interested in this i invested £4.99 on a garden kneeling pad from homebase. I used this underneath my Reidmar and two EBS Classic 1*12 cabs last night. This was in a room where every amp i have ever used has suffered from some uncomfortable boom. Hey presto - no boom and a much tighter sound. I'm sure this does not really compare to the Auralax products but then again it cost a fiver instead of £50. Also the pad ways nothing and can be stored in the same case as the amp. For those suffering a lack of cash at this time this may be an option.
2. Where are you based if i want to have a look at this? This would be with a view to buying not exchange
3. This is owned by a guitarist i play with and I said i would put it on here before he tries the dreaded ebay. This will be buyer to collect The bass is from 1971 as borne out by the date on the neck and the serial number. It looks good in the pictures but is not perfect as it was fitted with a precision type pick-up, the scratchplate changed and the paint stripped. I sourced a repro pick-up and scratchplate from the States and had it re-sprayed in the original black but, sadly, it is possible to see the repaired area where the precision pick-up was outside the area the scratchplate covers. The neck is straight, there's little fret wear and it plays nicely. No case - just a cheapo gig bag. 5. Let me know if you change your mind. Cannot run to the sort of price you want but will negotiate if the fretless jazz is in part exchange
6. Would a trade on a musicman stingray be of any interest? E22714...4 May 2001. Black with Maple. 3EQ. your Black/maple StingRay was completed on May 4, 2001, and was originally shipped to GC Hollywood Or a fretless jazz C025935 1985 Black Fender Jazz fretless MIJ Your guitar was made at the Fuji-gen Plant (for Fender Japan), Japan in the Year 1985
7. I'm not in the same league as Linus 27 and JakeBrownBass in that most of my gigs are pubs and clubs where the PA is only really for the vocals. The Reidmar continues to behave really well with no volume issues and plenty of great tones. Having difficulty deciding which to use of the 2 classic 112 or a Neo 112 and a Neo 110. At the moment i think the Neo's are probably winning. Anyone else tried the amp with the Neo cabs?
8. [sub]Thomastik Jazz flats - simply the best strings i have ever used[/sub]
9. I used to love HH. HAb an old 100w head and a 2 x 15 cab with a wooden cover. It weighed a ton and i carried up three flights of stairs when i got home. Hope the new ones work out ok
10. 4 or 8 ohms? Can i come and see it? I am in T Wells
11. I have a 1977 natural wood maple neck preciision which was made at the fullerton plant. I bought this new in the April of 1977, (birthday money). This bass is seriously heavy but whilst i have various others, a couple of CIJ jazz, 2 musicman stingrays, GB rumour, 1965 framus star bass, the precision is the one i turn to whenever i record anything. It just has an amazing and totally consistent sound. Maybe it is just one sound but i cannot fault it. I know that there is some criticism of the 70's fenders but it seems no matter how many other basses i try i always come back to the fact that the first serious bass i purchased is the best. Before the precision it was various copies and a Hayman 4040 if anyone remembers them. If i had to have only one then there would be no competition. Could be interested in aquiring another but would need to try it out. Shame this one is so far away in South Wales!

Octave Pedal

Is there such a thing as an octave pedal that goes an octave up rather than below?
13. Just seen the sad news that Graham lost his wife to cancer in January. I don't know him and have never had the pleasure of meeting him but believe him to be one of the best bass players i have ever heard. I hope he and his family manage to get through what must be a very difficult time. Jeff
14. Interested in the Neo 112. Is there a cover? Could probably run to £325 -
15. Would like to try it out - where are you based?I already have a GB rumour and a spitfire would be a nice addition
16. Don't forget that the neo line 110 & 112 are 8 ohms so you can use 2 of these or mix and match with the classic 110,112
17. All this talk of Vikings I guess that you guys will all be wearing helmets and going in for a bit of raping and pilaging at future gigs. Should attract larger audiences
18. There was a guy who used to go to the local jams around Tunbridge Wells. He had a Rickenbacker. Might be worth asking at any jams that are on. I saw him several times in the prince of wales on camden road. He stood in for me once at a gig when i was away but i can't find his number.
19. I agree the flap was a real unexpected bonus. Well done Roqsolid!
20. A quick report back from last nights gig with the belly dance band. The Reidmar and one classic 12 cab worked really well. The band only consists of one keyboard, two percussionists, (both miked up), one dancer and me so it was never going to be a loud gig. i used the GB Rumour bass with the amp set to 11 o'clock on the gain volume and 8 o'clock, or 2 depending how you prefer to think about it (i.e. hardly on), on the output volume. This was easily enough volume. Missed having the 2nd cab just to have a bit more height but there was nowhere that i could place the one cab in a raised position and no useful crates to stand it on. Another bass player in the audience commented on the clarity of the bass which was really pleasing. Next time i may try the amp with one or both of the Neo 112 & 110 cabs just to compare I would reccomend this amp and cabs to anyone looking for some real quality at a very reasonable price. EBS may have a reputation for being the slap bass choice but believe me they are so much more than that. I don't play slap and use flat strings! Don't waste your money on other amp / cabs just get these. The covers from Roqsolid arrived yesterday and they are also really good!
21. Will probably just decide on the night if i'm free. Thanks for the offer. All the best jeff
22. Which band and date is it at the roundhouse? Might come along
