  1. I’ve always wanted an Audere preamp but now I’ve sold all my jazz basses 🤦‍♂️
  2. If you ever want to part with that 55/64 @pmjos just give me a shout! 🤩 haha - they’re bloody hard to find! Loved my 4 string /64
  3. Do you have the original hardware for it too? The pickups in the Stingray Specials are fantastic!
  4. Well 1 out of 3 ain’t bad - I’m definitely a bass player 😂 You don’t usually see ads for roles like this, it’s all word of mouth and referrals so I’m sure they’ll get loads of fantastic players applying
  5. Aye I love the Empress, best compressor I’ve had I think, the Lusithand Alma was also decent but the Empress can do an awful lot more and there’s options to add bits of saturation in with a mid scoop and mid bump switch that I think sounds fantastic in certain situations. It pricey but I like it a lot more than I do the Cali76 I’ve never used the little Tonex pedal but the quality of the amp and cab sounds For that money is really good value, however you really need the full fat one to take proper advantage of all the different ones available and Tonex Max with all the Amplitube captures like GK, Ampeg etc which are outstanding. Some very good Noble and Noble + Cab captures available too
  6. Sorry to hear that, I’ve lost a couple of people close to me this way and the aftermath for everyone is awful, makes everything else pale into insignificance
  7. Board I’m running at the mo for festive function stuff - Empress into Capo with Tonex in post FX loop running an Aguilar DB751 and a cab of some description, also getting chorus and extra dirt channel from the Tonex and a clean boost from B side of the Capo. I usually have an octave pedal but it’s on the blink so I’d rather not take it to a gig till it’s sorted/I inevitably bin it and buy another one Also battery charger + rechargeable batteries for IEM pack & wireless 😁 (which I stood on so currently not using) Really very impressed with the Tonex, not sure why I don’t see much Bass love for it but they’re as good as any capture I’ve ever used and much better than Stomp amp/cab sims, and there are tonnes of free user generated captures on Tone.net, also get the full suite and Amplitube to use on your computer/DAW - I’m not selling them or anything 😆 but as far as amp/cab sounds go they’re top of the tree IMO
  8. That’s an awful lot of bass for £800!
  9. Did you sell this? I know it’s an old thread but came up in the search! 😁
  10. Are they brighter flats like Daddario Chrome’s with these being chrome or are they more like Labella etc?
  11. Sold mine earlier this year and regretted it ever since, absolutely fantastic live basses - not a bad weight for one of these either!
  12. Finally finished my PJ5 following @carlsim guide - first one went awry for me too so I’m glad I’d ordered two decals! Pretty pleased with the outcome all in all, and they’re great cheapy basses
  13. These are absolutely fantastic basses, ridiculous value for money at this sort of price (and new as well tbf), these are pro instruments for sure
  14. Those polarising figures over at DemonFX have done it again - this time they have cloned the fantastic Aguilar Tone Hammer preamp, and done a pretty good job so have to say. I bought this online on a whim just because I wanted to see how close it actually is to the real thing - and it’s a very close, however once my curiosity was satisfied I really don’t have much use for it, I’ve got a Jad Freer Capo as my main preamp and although it might be decent - it’s never going to replace that 😁 9v or 18v power supply, Parametric mids, bass & treble all boost & cut, and 2nd channel with distortion that goes from very subtle to full on etc - you probably know all this, anyway it does a pretty good impression of a Tone Hammer and if you don’t want to spend Tone Hammer money then this will do a job for you Basically brand new in box, £40 inc delivery (Paid £60) I would trade for a Spectracomp or I also need an octave & a chorus pedal or owt else - try me! I can take a photo of my actual pedal if you need me too, but it’s currently far too cold for me to be getting out of bed to start taking photos! That is what it looks like though!👆
  15. @Gaucho 5 - when you say they are USA Bartolini MK1’s are they different to the MK1’s in the 55-01 etc?
  16. What have you done re: blend/pickup selection with this mod?
  17. BOSS OC2 (Made in Taiwan) Octave Pedal - £85 inc U.K. Delivery I don’t know much about the different versions of these that are available, but this is a made in Taiwan version that says “Octave” (rather than ‘Octaver’) on the front - does the whole ‘Oc2 vibe’ really well 😁 Works great, decent condition but obviously used and gigged - has some Velcro on the bottom that can be removed. I’ve been running it using a 9v battery, but can also run on your generic pedalboard 9v power supply Priced for a quick sale! - **£85 inc U.K. Delivery** PICS: 👇

  18. Lusithand Alma Compressor (v1) *£99 inc UK DELIVERY - absolute bargain - top end boutique compressor for under £100!* For sale is this awesome compressor by Lusithand, this is the 1st version that came out with the side input jacks. It’s a very highly regarded optical compressor inspired by the Diamond BCP-1 and new they cost £239+ and sits alongside other top end boutique compressors like Empress, Cali76 etc - this is a professional top end Compressor It has fantastic reviews, and has a number of features including parallel compression and the unique “EQ Tilt” feature which can brighten up a bass that is too dark/dull or tame the top end of a bass that is too bright, using a dial for the amount and a switch to choose the frequencies being attenuated. This means it can be tailored to suit multiple different basses - this is a separate feature on top of the compression, and the parallel compression - it’s pretty much impossible to get a bad tone from this pedal, it significantly improves how you sound Excellent Condition, has Velcro on the bottom which can be removed - comes in original box, which is as new, and original instruction sheet from Lusithand Priced for Quick Sale - absolute bargain: Reduced - **£99 including UK Delivery** I’ve overstretched myself this month and although I have two fantastic new basses coming in, I haven’t quite managed to make ends meet and so I have priced this pedal at a ridiculously good price (IMO!) so it goes quickly and I can keep the wolves from the door! You will never see a boutique compressor like this for under 100 quid! REVIEWS: - Chris Tromp - ‘Compressor Pedal Reviews’ https://www.compressorpedalreviews.com/post/lusithand-alma-comp-review - Bass The World: - The Bass Channel - Rumblin Man (There’s loads of YouTube videos on this compressor but I’ve just picked 3, it’s difficult to get a proper feel for the flavour of any compressor on YouTube, but you definitely get some idea!) 19. Bass Centre been around for 40 odd years I think and they’re pretty legendary as far as shops go and that’s probably why, I can’t recall ever having heard a bad word about them tbf - they know what Bass players want and they know how to look after their customers 👍
  20. I want to get the “Powerhouse” as I want to try the Sims pickups - they sounds awesome, but yeh I’ve never heard anything bad about the Bass Centre’s own brand ‘Bass Collection’ basses. If you don’t mind used and you’re after one then ‘Sell Us Your Guitar’ has some in: https://www.sellusyourguitar.co.uk/shop-bass-guitars They’ve got a ‘Speakeasy PJ4’ for £450 (similar to the Nanyo basses they used to do) if that’s your thing. They’ve got a good deal on a Bass Collection “Power Bass” (P Bass) for £315 https://www.sellusyourguitar.co.uk/product-page/bass-collection-power-bass-fresh-cream-4-string-bass-guitar and also a 4 string jazz bass the ‘Jive bass’ (basically the same as the Betsy but without the EMG’s) reduced to £288 which is really good value for money IMO https://www.sellusyourguitar.co.uk/product-page/bass-collection-jive-bass-china-white-electric-bass Im not shilling for them or anything lol, but as they’re being mentioned I thought I’d post them up as they’re great value for money
  21. Blimey - you didn’t half take your time thinking about it 🤣 Ive played a couple of the Bass Centre ‘Bass collection’ basses and they’re really good, especially for the money, I’m sure it’ll be excellent
  22. Reduced to £450 including delivery! Minus delivery you’re paying just over £400 for a Lakland Skyline 55-01 in good nick, that could easily go for twice the price - if the bass I want to buy goes then I’ll pull the listing, but I’d rather let this go super cheap than miss out on the bass I want.
  23. Wow I learnt from that book in the mid 90’s - that cover takes me back! 😁
