  1. Honestly I like it best without the clipping diodes, I use it as a drive with the gain almost all the way up.
  2. Cheers! Yeah definitely has some tone mojo, this only fell off my board for a Diamond bass comp
  3. I would argue that the bootleg of Rush live in St Louis in 1980 is better than any of their official live albums and even some of the 70s studio albums. Also, Curtis Live from 1972 is a completely different animal to the studio albums, though I couldn’t say better or worse - no strings or overdubs, just a mega tight band, groovy songs and great energy.
  4. I reckon this is the only tuner that would look proportionate:
  5. I would give a +1 about transferable skills, a career in music doesn't have to be the end result of a music degree. My partner did music at a not particularly prestigious university so the chances of having a professional music career directly resulting from the course were slim. However a great time was had and the course led them to find a job in therapy, and from that friendship group a couple have become teachers & one is now a photographer.
  6. A blend is handy to have, for sure!
  7. For sale is a DOD Milk Box compressor in very good condition. This thing is well regarded in compressor circles and adds a nice subtle bit of colour along with the compression. Unfortunately I never had its box, so that will not be included. I’m asking £85 inc. UK postage, or if you want to save a fiver you can collect from Hebden Bridge.
  8. As I have recently acquired a Bassrig, my VT Bass DI is for sale. As I’m sure we all know, this is Tech 21’s SVT alike preamp which has been gracing many a board for a decade. This has been taken care of but has a few marks which you might expect from a fair few years of gigging inc. Velcro on the back. As far as I know, everything functions perfectly. Unfortunately I’ve misplaced the tin along the way, so it will not come with that. I’m asking for £130 inc. UK postage, or if you want to save a fiver you can collect it from Hebden Bridge.
  9. That’s always a problem with do everything pedals, right? Give me a Zoom and I wouldn’t know what you do with it. Do you find that changing the impedance is affected by pedals before it, and does it affect pedals after? Like how old fuzz faces would sound terrible if they weren’t the first in the chain.
  10. How are you finding it now that the honeymoon period is over? Have to say I do like the versatility of the switchable impedance, neat idea that I’ve not seen implemented elsewhere
  11. Honourable mention to Radiohead’s Spectre theme, which they were contracted for then rejected. Would have been way better than Sam Smith.
  12. I've owned, loved and gigged this cab for a good few years now, but am getting tired of hauling it up the stairs to our rehearsal room so would like to move to a more portable solution. Great cab, not light in weight but with a suitably thick low-middy sound to match. I've taken care of it, so it's in pretty good nick - just a few marks on the sides and the cover from gigging, and one small scuff in the tolex which I've tried to capture in pictures (excuse the messy attic). Power Handling: 350 watts RMS Frequency Response: 41 Hz - 16 kHz Sensitivity: 98 dB Impedance: 8 ohms Dimensions: 16.625" (H) x 24.5" (W) x 13.125" (D) Weight: 26.8Kg I'm asking £350 or trade + money your way for 2 x DB112, collection or meetup within reasonable distance from Hebden Bridge. Ta!

  13. Manu Dibango lets everyone know about his hard pulsation:
  14. I do have an Eden WT head I’m pretty happy with. The cabs though…
  15. Somebody please buy these before temptation overwhelms me - thanks in advance.
  16. To be perfectly honest since you both have black & white pictures and yellow usernames, for a while I thought it was one user with a split personality. I think I need to get my eyes checked
  17. In all seriousness, apart from the ones already mentioned I was pleasantly surprised how good the bass tone was for that Boston song, though I probably shouldn’t have been - Tom Scholz is a great engineer as well as musician.
  18. Out of that playlist, I think I like ‘My Tesla Model 3 White Seats After 3 Years’ most - catchy tune
  19. Thanks, it is pretty tasty. Though I’m also borrowing a Bassman clone made by a local electronics guru + matching 410 which gets most play time these days! Do you have much experience with DBs? I have a 210 and am weighing up the portability of 2x112, don’t have any experience with how different the cabs sounds though.
  20. Hi all, been a member of this fair parish before (under another name) and left to avoid temptation, but the lure of shiny new boxes is too hard to resist... I play a borrowed Ric 4003 through Eden World Tour into Aguilar DB. - JML
