DI box

Im looking for a decent DI box to put in the back of my rack case as a back up for a S.H.T.F. situation with my head. I have used a behringer one for a few years and just want to upgrade to something that will give me a better tone if needs be. I have narrowed it down to a two choices- The first is that im boring and buy the sansamp bass driver which is solid compact and reliable, plus its simple so anyone would be able to work it out if I couldnt get to the amp for any reason. The second is that I try to hunt down an Ampeg SVT DI box which I dont think they make anymore, I remember trying one when they came out and being blown away but was a poor student and couldnt afford it. http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/product/1235...ced-di-box.html Its a hell of a thing but then do I really want a valve knocking about in the case in the back of my car?
5. I think im in the minority as well here. I do feel for you and its quite harsh that a mate would do that but to me a bass is a tool. It should be played and played and played until eventually it falls apart. That is its soul, thats what it exists to do. If that doesnt happen its just a plank of wood :/ Every ding and scrape in my instruments is just more life. I will gladley throw my bass around knowing that its never let me down yet and probably never will. I really hate people who have vintage or expensive instruments and dont play them or wrap them in cotton wool. That 52' Fender P you fantasise about should be played and thrown around because thats what it was born to do. Play it, trash it and then when its fianlly given up the ghost burn it and let its spirit be part of you.
6.
Here's another great pic of a Precision. And Ginger Reyes from Smashing Pumpkins...
I met her back in 2003 maybe? At Mean Fiddler Halo Friendlies were supporting No Use for a Name. I got their album signed somewhere, she is more than fine. I think I just faded out for a moment remembering her being in a sweaty punk rock band and being so hot!

My gear

I really evolved into this set up, I have owned about 6 I believe amps over the last few years never quite finding the right tone, I have used so many different combos of pedals and amps and I think I finally nailed it with this one. I do a lot of recording and engineering so TBH the EQ was bought as much for that as I find it to be an incredibly usable tool when recording. I do like a lot of low end in my sound despite playing in a pop/punk/emo band at the moment I do avoid that tinny bass sound a lot of similar artists go for. The head only has the 3 band EQ so I bought the EQ pedal to give me a bit more scope as I didnt want to use a compressor but did want to push up my low ends. Its not a pedal I turn on and off really its just on but quite mild. The settings are not fixed either I often EQ to the room im in and having the GEB7 makes that a lot easier/
8.
BTW, what do you think of the Bass Blogger? I'm considering getting one. Mark
I think its a quality pedal, I honestly bought it as somewhat of a whim in Digital Village. I was in there to pick up some new mic's, I had heard it online and thought I would just give it a try out and the whole vibe just sold me there and then. Its got a hell of a lot for a pedal with seemingly so few functions. Having the options to switch between fuzz and drive is nice (mines almost exclusively on fuzz) and the tone control really does a lot. I have a big soft spot for EH anyway so perhaps im a little biased (I used to have a Bass balls and did go through a stage of using a Big Muff for my bass until it destroyed 2 amps) Definatly test it out first, the online videos etc really dont do it justice and playing with it reveals some very neat sounds.

My gear

It actually sounds better than I expected, I viewed the LM250 as a stepping stone amp to use for about 6 months until I had funds to get something bigger (Mark Classic or LM500) I had a massive problem whereby due to lack of funds and selling some gear I was left with an Ampeg B410 and an Ashdown MAG300 which was the wrong ohmage to run it. Thanks to getting a job I invested in the MB cab and head and tbh I really dont see any need to get a more powerful one. I have more than enough volume for small/medium gigs, tbh most gigs im DI'd so its not really needed to fill the house and im currently purchasing some Ultimate Ears E11 personal IE's so on stage volume is kind of irrelevent. I know its kind of shallow but there is an image thing to consider especially if you are aiming to make it as a band even on a small scale and the Head and cab definatly looks the business and honestly it sounds it too! If you are in Kent or SE area im more than willing to invite you round put the kettle on and let you shake my windows out!
10. sorry about delay on pics I cant find the bloody thing at the moment Also im willing to swap this for an EH Nano Bass Balls
11. If it doesnt go im VERY interested. Would you consider PX for a EH bass blogger
12. This come with the rack ears? If not do you know where they are available?

My gear

As much as I love the Stringray its only recently I started picking up the P again and remembered why I fell in love with it in the first place. The neck profile is massive and the whole thing just gives off a simpler time vibe, with the thumb rest in the odd position, Duncan p/up and bridge cover with a mute under it it just feels right, although I play in a punk/emo/rock band and the look is so wrong for it
14. I use a warwick rockcase one, its a strong plastic with a velcro top, 4 9V power outs for pedals. Its decent enough and comes with a strong bag to move it in and to store picks, strings cables etc in plus its only 49 quid (there are bigger ones too) Here is a pic of mine so you can see what you can fit onto it

17. Bump im really wanting a trade for this offer me anything you dont want anymore lets make a deal!
18. Good condition (will post pix tomorrow) only gigged once and barely used other than that just left sat on my board never being turned on. Gives a great sound but a bit to crunchy for me really offers?
19. Im currently running a fairly small but nonetheless perfect for me effect set up consiting of - Boss TU2 Boss GEB7 equalizer Boss Bass Chorus Electro Harmonix Bass Blogger I picked up a behringer bass limiter for 4 quid in a pawn shop last week and had a play with it and found that it does get my sound pretty much spot on where I want it to be but I cant gig with it, its just too flimsy I really do STOMP my stomp boxes and the plastic behringer would last all of about 5 mins (its already cracked just from jamming with it) Whats closest to the behringer I know they generally copy Boss designs but to me the Boss doesnt have the same feel (dont get me wrong its better quality) but there is something else the Behringer unit is doing
20.
Not in the Throw Offs are you?
Funnily enough I was! I have a new project now thought
21.
Denmark Street.
My god man, have you been huffing that glue they use for acoustic laminate
22. Some gorgeous stuff in the for sale section giving me a bad case of G.A.S
23. Behringer pedals Dont get me wrong I run a small PA company in my part time and use a fair few Behringer rack units with my PA. But the stompboxes are just awful Plastic, Poorly made garbage
24. Just testing the water for this really. Its an older model (when mags were still made in the UK) A- condition, it has been gigging and has a few little dings and bumps I got it second hand for a good price and im really just looking to offload it to make some more space as I never use the thing since MB came along. I would even be willing to swap it for something quirky (FX pedal, combo etc etc) Any offers?
