Just picked one up! got a 3.2, 300W is more than enough for the gigs I play if something suddenly came up I am sure I could find a 5.2 as well. Something about that sound, the big open ported GB 410 and a hefty piece of amp on top!

I have gone through so many set ups with soe many brands, Markbass, Ampeg, Laney, Orange, Ashdown, 810's, 410's, 212's, 115's! Everything. Finally last night I found the tone I want. Warwick Profet into a Genz Benz 410GB. It has blown my mind. All the faffing with stuff could have been cured years ago. This is what I have always wanted.
You certainly will - and we'll probably also bump into each other at Warwick's stand, judging by your avatar
I will head over there at some point I am sure.

Will see you there Bluejay!

I would guess Encore just on the shade of blue, looks just like one of theirs. -
Is there a 'meet plan' or is it as and when?
-
I shall be in attendance, probably over both days.

how long should I wait before I start asking for moderator help?

Great news, I wonder if the mojobass is reading this? I hope he see's we were just trying to help out and not 'start a witch hunt' and that he feels welcome to come back once this is all sorted. Props (AGAIN!) to the mods, I have made it a habit that whenever a deal is slightly complicated I will bring a mod into the PM chain just to put the other parties mind at rest, they are normally happy to just stick to a quick reply in the chain then keeping their eyes on it. Top team here, it really is. -

Wasn't he the member who mentioned a divorce a few times? Could be he is under a lot of pressure right now, maybe not but lets try to hope there is a real extenuating circumstance -
As others have said, if you are lucky enough to have the cash on the hip then go for it. You will only regret it, almost bought a brand new Warwick Katana a few years ago for a hefty price, I had the money in my pocket and was in love. Convinced myself I didn't need it and have regretted it ever since. She was an ugly old heffer but my god the tone was like nothing else.

When I see a Ritter like this it makes me think of two things. First, don't these things just look incredibly in the natural finish with the incredible wood on show and allowed to shine. Second, if I bought one would I be able to go for such a beauty or would my mad child inside make me end up with a multicoloured insanity machine.. I would hope the first but reckon the second. Lovely bass.

Haha, Thanks for the reply, I will as a par for the course remove my previous post now I have more details. It doesn't look a bad bass, you are right that the pickups are probably worth what the bids are at currently! Just that one photo looks iffy. Lets just be grateful neither of us are guitarists, wars have started over less amongst those 6 string folk.

Flight Of The Conchords appreciation thread!

Just cannot find them funny, a good friend of mine was massively into them and kept playing me their songs and making watch the show and the overriding feeling was always, 'when does the funny start?' I kind of expected Spinal Tap and ended up with hipsters. -
I have been reading with some amusement, some of the smart ass remarks by the 'experts' here, I was gonna stay quiet, but the last post has pushed me into a response. I'm a member here too, and this very same bass has been up on the classifieds a few years back....in the same condition...no snide remarks then..just nice bass etc..the usual. So let me just put a few things straight....there are no cracks or delamination, it is not a friggin Chinese bass, yes the control cover is poor, yes it was built in the UK by a chap in West Yorkshire. There is nothing wrong with my memory..it was bought off ebay from the builder...and i don't know his name.... or the model of preamp he used. In actual fact the bass is a great bass..check out some of my basses..I know what a great bass is, it sounds great a looks the business. Some smart ass remarks about luthiery too...baloney. I own an Alembic amongst other basses, anyone who knows anything about multiwood type basses will tell you ...because there are several types of wood used in the construction..over the years they shrink at different rates...my alembic too. Delamination my arse. Perhaps 'throwoff' the real ale has affected your vision as well as your judgement. You lot sound like a load of old biddies bitching about another biddies make up...too much time on your hands I suspect.
Well that's quite the post! First up I am a little more than an armchair expert but I don't expect everyone to know that and my day job is not public knowledge for good reason. The bass is for sale on ebay, I have never seen it or heard it so can pass judgement only on a few photos and your description. From the photos it looks like there is a split in the wood of the neck and that 2 pieces are coming apart or as I said before delaminating. Perhaps this is a trick of the light or growth patterns in the wood but like I say all I have are your pictures. My judgement was made on the images and that alone. As for wood drying and curing I really could bore you at length about it but I am sure nobody wants to read it. It may well be a super bass, in fact it likely is as you do seem to know your instruments but going off on a mad one because of a post based on an iffy looking photo is hardly the way I would deal with this, a quick post here or PM and I would have deleted my comments happily in view of the new knowledge you provided.
