1. My wife has zero interest in any of my music or any instrument that I play. She moans that I play all evening hidden away in our utility room, but all she ever does is sit infront of the TV! Apart from that we get on great on all levels! I just wish that she could appreciate my music a tiny bit.
2. I have four kids from 3 to 11. If any of them showed the remotest interest in any instrument my money would be right there on the table. It's potentially one of the best gifts that you can ever give them and well worth a 'gamble'. If it doesn't stick there's always eBay. Despite having hoards of instruments I can't get any of them interested in ANYTHING so far - but my 7 yr old daughter did ask for a pink plectrum when we were in a store last summer.

It's crap with garageband, in my opinion. There is a standalone player now that is free, you can audition samples but I don't think that you can put stuff together.
4. And they also have them used from £4.41?!?! I was going to buy it but I won't as they don't take Paypal. I don't want to plug my credit card details into yet another site just for the sake of £3.
5. Darn it!!!!!! Not working.
6. I've never heard of them, although I'm pretty into prog, both old and new. I'll have to check them out!
7.
My 6 string Quantum has absolutely no neck dive whatsoever, it is perfectly balanced, and very comfortable to play, and I play it for up to 6 hours per day. You're welcome to try it, where about are you based ?.
Heh! you are too kind. I'm way off in Bedfordshire though, and I'd be very nervous about trying to play a bass infront of someone who actually can play well. One of the problems is that Modulus basses seem very hard to come by over here, but I keep seeing them on eBay in the US, so I've been wondering whether to just go for one - hence the question. Thanks for the offer though.
8.
Yeah, you've gotta be cute these days, I normally open another browser page, copy and paste item into google and check the item out, as you can get mugged of really easily.
Yeah, that's what I do.
9. I really fancy getting a modulus quantum - just love the look of them. Having said that, I've never actually tried one. Bearing in mind that I have been using a headless Status for some time now, am I likely to find the modulus irritatingly neck-heavy in comparison? I recall reading somewhere that they were a bit like that? I might add that I am totally unworthy of such fine basses as Status and Modulus make with my current ability, but what the hell, I have spare cash for about the first time in my life!
10. Ignorant peasant here: Why do they put the pickups so close on those basses? Why not have one nearer to the neck?
11. I'm totally not into autographed instruments. I could live with something small on the back of the headstock but that's about it. I have a bunch of autographs, and generally I just get people to sign a CD cover. So I agree with the stick it on the wall and get another ploy.
12. Funk is fine by me, and I'm a rocker at heart. Never, never will I be playing Reggae. Never.
13. If you lived a bit closer I may have come and had a look. Too bad you're too far away. I'm 90% happy with my current bass, but still maybe looking for that extra 10% bass.
14. Hmmmmn ............... Ritual humiliation, zero votes, insults to my poor technique and timing ....... I'M IN!!!!!!!!!!! Actually, I probably wouldn't. I've been in a few guitar competitions in my time, but bass seems more like a 'do a solid job' instrument rather than w*nk off to your hearts content. having said that, a few pointers on how to improve would be useful.
15. Well, it's all been said really. Your tutor is cr*p, and the other two would obviously be worthless. If I taught any instrument I wouldn't turn anyone away who had a heart for learning, regardless of age, sex etc. I just started bass seriously this year myself at the grand old age of 44, not that I'm bothering with a tutor! Oh yes, and hand size is irrelevant. There's a one armed bass player out there (Youtube!) a one handed guitarist (youtube again!) and Django only used two fretting fingers. If people like that can play then how would small hands be an issue?
16. Love that middle one! I presume that's an early status. I can't quite decide if I prefer headed or headless. I always wanted a headless bass and have one now, but I can't decide if I'd go for headed if I ordered a new one. There's something a bit un-rock n roll about no head IMO.
17. I would be really tempted, but it's such high postage and I'm too far away to collect.
18. I'm sorry, but it takes more than one pencil to make a graphite neck ......................
19. HANDS OFF!!! the next modulus available is MINE MINE MINE!! Oh, sorry, you want a 4 string. I only play 5. I too have never tried one, but I'm sure that I really want one. They don't come up all that much in the UK though do they.
20. Oooh! I really like the look of that. Too bad it doesn't have enough strings.

22. The answer's a no-brainer. I'm referring to the GF. Maybe it was ice-skating fleas?
23. I have a lot of different instruments, and it's hard to part with them. Some are cheap and not worth much but are 'special' for some reason, some are expensive and I would miss them if they went, and some are not used/not very good and I really should shift them but I can't be assed. I can't see the point in owning 8+ basses.
