  1. A search showed they were an imperial screw thread. I had a selection of short metric screws ( m4 ??? ) and the tapped holes are deeper than the rubber feet threads so my longer screws still worked. They appeared to screw in fine so the threads were a close match and after I unscrewed one to try the rubber foot again it screwed in again fine. Give my a day or so and I will check and confirm the threads I used were m4
  2. I didn’t like using Velcro and went over to 3M dual lock but that can be tough pulling pedals off ! Gone back to 2” wide velcro and this holds my Ampeg SCR-Di ( removed rubber feet screws ) and my Ampeg Opto Compressor ( rubber feet removed ) … liking the simplicity of the Velcro and it works fine
  3. I loved my RM800 EVO 2 and only sold it as I went for the ABM 600 head Very loud decent amps and mine was very quiet.
  4. Dave Green is a very helpful and knowledgeable guy
  5. Way louder than it should be
  6. +1 on the Spark Boost Mini
  7. Great bargain and you’ve been lucky The hassle regarding returns ( common these days ) puts me off using anyone outside the U.K.
  8. I’m seeing this too that the cab plays a bigger part of the sound compared to the amp in many cases Now I’m using the Ampeg Preamp pedal In front of my amp which is set flat EQ I think I could use most amps and still sound awesome!
  9. Yep loads but never post - courier I recommend DPD as the shops use them too Parcel2go is a good place to book or go direct to DPD online Make sure you add the insurance just in case Ive always kept the original boxes so that’s easier.
  10. I’m liking my Ampeg Opto Compressor Very natural sounding with a warm vintage vibe. Low price too makes it a winner in my book
  11. I would look for the Ashdown RM300 or RM500 ( better ) The RM500 at 8ohms will give you approx 250W out
  12. Decided to run the compressor in front of the pre amp ( allows easy access to the DI out ) Works well either way in fairness
  13. Ok tried the Ampeg SCR-DI and it’s very nice, I like it. Tried it with Ampeg Opto Compressor in front and after and it sounds better with compressor after especially as I use my compressor to tame the input into the ABM600 Will be fitting on to my Pedaltrain so I’ve removed the rubber feet screws and replaced with flush screws. Hadnt considered the access to the DI connection ( for occasional use perhaps ) so I will space them apart. Dual lock on its way so I can make a good job of it. The tone / EQ ( pretty much as suggested ) sounds very much like Ampeg The depth of sound with Ultra Low in sounds full and good with a pick more so than the Shape ON sound on the ABM head. I can now use both the ABM600 and my Orange LBT and still sound the same !! Highly recommended pedal and less than buying an Ampeg amp !
  14. If you speak to Dave Green at Ashdown he could post you out a new fan perhaps? Maybe the fan grille is catching ?
  15. I will give them a go 🤟
  16. Can you remember your SCR-DI settings ? Ultra low in or out ?
  17. You’re right the 16 isn’t huge but I will run the pedals off my Truetone One Spot which is how I’ve done it before and daisy chain the pedals.
  18. Will be adding both pedals to a Pedaltrain Metro 16 and later add a floor tuner too
  19. Ok folks so an update after rehearsals night. Played all songs using a pick ( Nylon Jim Dunlop 1.25mm ) The most important point I noticed was I had to back off a load of low mids in the EQ section of the ABM600 Using Shape Off ( On sounding too boomy ) and this gave the tone a perceived depth yet still punchy. High mids and treble still present for clarity and tone on PBass backed off for some songs and opened up for others ( Green Day etc ) I was back to using my Ampeg Opto Compressor and that works really well keeping a tight thumpy sound. The image shows my settings just before I turned up to band level on the master volume ( around 9/10 o clock ) Next I’ve got the Ampeg SCR-DI coming to run up front before the compressor which I think will sound good and give me the scrambler drive option. I think I’m getting close to the tone I like and that fits with the band
  20. I’m loving my Squire Classic Vibe 70’s PBass .. seems to be a decent bass with reasonable quality parts
  21. Did this earlier this year I must own every variant of pick you can buy now !! Im liking the variation I can get in different pick gauges and materials I think I’ve found the pick for me now so that part of the equation is nearly sorted. Amazing the difference in tone from using say nylon to Tortex or Delrin
  22. Looks fantastic Regarding the shape feature ( Out position on the ABM ) I am finding that the best EQ for pick playing as it adds a lot of depth to the sound. What I do though is boost the 340HZ to bring back the low mids and back off slightly the main bass ( 40hz ) so it’s not too flubby when playing the low E string etc Its not easy to mimic it with Shape IN ie off and using EQ as I’ve tried and you cannot quite get there. It’s like having your own select for pick playing button !
  23. Just ordered some 2mm Prime Grip to try 👍
  24. I agree but my guitarist isnt using a really heavy bass tone I notice the difference more with the drums tone and the bass guitar tone
  25. I’m about to start using the Shape “out” on my ABM600 as I plan to pick play instead of fingers I think the shape ( pulls mids etc) makes pick playing an easier result as you get bottom end and top clarity
