  1. Last night I was using my Orange Little Bass Thing via my Ampeg SCR-DI and TC Spectracomp pedals Nice sound At break I pulled the cable out and went direct into the amp without pedals and set my EQ and bang .. what a better sound, the weight and tone of the amp were just better and had more heft behind the notes Needless to say I’m ditching the SCR and TC and be happy with this great sounding amp and my ABM600
  2. Excellent as it is I’ve returned mine as I don’t think it was better than my analogue Ampeg Opto Compressor which is also excellent 👍
  3. I don’t use Mark Bass cabs although I believe they are very good My ABM600 goes through the Ampeg SVT212AV and it’s a superb sound
  4. That’s excellent Anyone know which parameters to change to drop the slight volume increase when ON compared to OFF
  5. I’m enjoying it, I’ve found it only needs to be on around 9 to 10 o clock max
  6. Dual lock is very strong ( in fact hard to remove items if you get 400 variant ) I did use it on small mini pedals once and it’s perfect but I’m back to trusty Velcro for ease of moving pedals etc. Mine stay put nicely but are always on so only get an occasional stomp !
  7. I use the Svt212av cab and it’s superb A great single cab for all needs I feel I’m using either my Ashdown ABM600 or my Orange Little Bass Thing
  8. Having never used pedals before with bass I’m now sporting a tuner , Compressor and then Pre amp into a flat sounding amp Mine are on the floor as I can step on the preamp drive pedal if and when required, same for tuner
  9. I’m liking the ParallelBassComp tone print ( same as the one in the video review )
  10. It’s on my board in front of my preamp and I’m liking it Simple adjustment and selection of Tone Prints makes it a versatile pedal
  11. I’m liking Orange amps I’m using the Little Bass Thing and it’s a super loud amp head The compression on it makes it sound tube like
  12. Going to use the Orange Little Bass Thing for now as it sounds good with the pre amp pedal My sale of the ABM600 is put on hold as I still really like that amp and it’s still virtually new !
  13. Nice but a bit too expensive! budget around £500
  14. That’s true but I like to l have two amps and like them to be similar in sound if possible without buying the same amp twice !
  15. MarkBass 151HR cab for sale £325
  16. Tried it today, you have to have an input connected too or the amp auto mutes. Using the Line In didn’t seem that loud compared to the normal input. My Orange Little Bass Thing head works really well with the Ampeg SCR-DI so that got me thinking of an amp in a similar neutral style
  17. Mark Bass 151HR for sale
  18. So the LM3 second hand perhaps ? or the new LM4 perhaps ?
  19. Any suggestions for a neutral sounding bass head approx 500 to 800W ? Looking to run my Ampeg SCR-DI in the front end
  20. MarkBass 151HR Cab 15” speaker plus Horn Like new condition 400w 8 ohm cab Roqsolid Cover collection from Yaxley Suffolk Or meet up within sensible distance £325 Cash NOW SOLD
  21. Yes listening to John Deacon I would say my pick tone is deeper and fatter Maybe it’s what we hear in the band when playing sounds thin but out front it’s not when in the band mix context I was trying to hear close to what I hear when I use fingers ( I have a soft to medium touch ) so maybe my pick tone isn’t too far off it already ? I keep thinking that several rock bands bassist use a pick and they sound great. I will keep working on it
  22. The full tone is more like a greater depth to the note .. you feel it more than hear it
  23. What kind of music / band ? Im finding in a single guitarist loud rock band I need a full tone
  24. I’m still chasing this pick tone !! With the band I’m finding pick playing is loud but not full sounding Finger playing is less loud but fuller and deeper which I can hear / feel How do I get closer to a full sound using a pick ( many obviously achieve this in a band ) but it’s still not happening for me so far Going to try a new compressor so maybe that will help ? Im after that softer attack ( don’t wish to use felt or rubber picks ) but a warm full tone for rock
  25. Any users of the Spectracomp can you advise if it’s a decent compressor? Looking for it to tame the boom on low notes when digging in so input to amp isn’t hammered to much Im moving on my Ampeg Opto Comp as it colours the tone slightly and want a neutral sounding compressor with simple adjustments
