  1. Which model amp was this ? ABM heads don’t rattle generally
  2. At last nights gig I played my full Ashdown rig and it sounded great. During the gig I thought to my self it may be worth exploring playing with a pick again ( I played fingers all of gig ) as compared to a smaller rehearsal room the venue room ( about 6 x larger ) you could tell that finger style thump was great but I missed the note articulation that I believe pick playing would add. It seems room size and type plays a huge part in our sound playing bass so I’m going to revert to pick playing. I stopped using the pick as at rehearsals the full depth of the tone wasn’t as good using a pick and I believe this difference in sound seems to reduce as the room size increases ? Anyone else noticed that ?
  3. I run my ABM600 without PA support for most planned gigs apart from outside events I use two ABM210H cabs and it’s a great powerful rig and if we get very large venues later on I might add a 410 cab to have 610 total I like a loud stage personally as we are a loud rock band ! Your amp is fine and so should be your cabs
  4. Anyone got one and use for gigging ? How loud do they go ? Might be in the market for one at the right price
  5. I think this is why I avoid multi fx due to time spent getting the patches to sound right live with a band Had this hassle as a guitarist using Helix, in the end went back to analogue pedals Still on the fence if I even need effects !
  6. I think some of the Ashdown signature tone also comes from the cabs
  7. We are loud but not excessive, drummer is hard hitting and Marshall Cabs and guitar valve heads are what they are .. loud !! As we are a four piece my role is to fill out the band sound at times ( guitar solos etc ) and I’ve found having a full sound keeps the band from sounding empty during solos etc. I like the added height too ( higher than my SVT212AV cab ) so I hear it better. A good result me thinks until I find something I don’t like !!! You can see my input gain and master volume as a guide to levels.
  8. This rig sounded very good and it’s my main gig rig from now on. Cabs made the difference with a deep full and punchy sound that fits well with a loud drummer and Marshall stack. ABM600 was barely ticking over so plenty of disposable power for bigger gigs. Cabs are a sensible weight and I think it looks kind of classy now.
  9. Full Ashdown rig ready for rehearsals 🤟
  10. Or did you mean swop your 115 for my 212 ?
  11. Happy with the double 210 rig !! 😉😂
  12. I too prefer my ABM600 head over the class D amps I’ve tried.
  13. Simple fix
  14. Like this
  15. My Orange Little Bass Thing being a metal cased head sits on a bar beer draining mat ( off eBay ) and it stops any vibration going through the head Nice rig 👍
  16. Ashdown abm600 is the answer
  17. The Pro Neo cabs are narrower in width and sound good, not as full and punchy as the non Neo larger cabs
  18. No I like both as they work really well with my ABM600 Tough choice but after obtaining locally a secondhand 210H it was a plan to add a second cab matching cab as an all Ashdown rig As I can’t mix the Ashdown cabs with the Ampeg ( it’s 4ohms ) I’ve decided to let it go and sell it as it would take up space Shame I never got these two cabs last year when I started off looking at Ashdown and originally had the smaller Pro Neo cabs
  19. They make a really nice rig, due to space I’ve decided to sell my lovely Ampeg Cab
  20. Decided to sell the SVT212AV cab as I haven’t got room for three bass cabs !
  21. Mines up for sale on here as I can’t keep both my Ashdown cabs and this as I haven’t got room
  22. Decided to sell this superb Ampeg Svt212av cab as I’m now using all Ashdown cabs and haven’t room to keep all of them. Purchased new in Dec 2021 so still like new condition and comes with a Roqsolid cover worth £60 The cab is a loud 212 plus tweeter 4ohm cab rated to 600w and is a great single cab solution. This is one of the best sounding Ampeg cabs and although not super light ( approx 28kg ) it’s not too bad lifting and moving around. I have original Ampeg box so can pack and allow you to arrange a suitable courier to collect from my home address or you can collect in person from Suffolk. Be sad to see it go but haven’t got room for this and my other bass gear Withdrawn from sale .. decided to keep
  23. The SVT212AV is a better cab and easier to lift !
  24. Yep mine is around 11 to 12 o clock max
  25. Just out of interest where do you set your valve drive level ?
