Wow thanks,and this makes a jazz sound a little bit more like a P? Do you just leave it on or do you turn off for Jazz bass sound then switch on for some songs when you want a fuller sound?

I’ll try getting hold of a bass eq pedal and boosting 400-800 like you say. My amp has a low mid control but it’s at 250hz

But doesn’t adding a switch to make them parallel beef the sound up and sound more like 1 pickup like a P bass? Mines just standard atm and I use neck 100% full and the bridge maybe 80% on. sounds good but to me my P basses sound better. But I want to get this Jazz sounding great and make it my #1.

Got a J bass and want to have a push pull know to switch between series and Parallel to make it sound a bit more like a P bass at times. anyone know how to do this or somewhere that does a pre-made wiring loom in UK?

Great guide thanks. aomething for me to look for is definitely the ball end as I don’t want the silk park going onto the bridge or the thinner inner bit.

Oh I thought different scales maybe benefit from different tensions or something. I just put some old Roto flats on (full scale) and they do go on but the silk parts are a lot higher so not under the string tree and the low E has no thinner bit of the string left to wrap around the tuner post. Still works but think I’ll look for a 32” set to put on there.

Won’t they have thicker parts to go in tuner pegs and maybe be different tension than a 32” scale needs? Do 32” need higher tension strings I’m unsure of the science.

What strings do you recommend for 32” scale?

I’ll join the club. Got a 32” scale Fender Aerodyne MIJ. Jazz pickups instead of PJ like most other aerodynes Mex P hanging next to it from same height to show difference

P bass is the best bass, Jazz 2nd.

Just sent £23.77 to Basstardz which I think is the total amount now sent to me and sent to him.

New bass day. Ok it’s not new but it’s new to me. a non-export fender Made In Japan Aerodyne with both jazz pickups instead of the normal PJ setup. 32” scale that I’ve been wanting to try and the body is apparently 6% smaller which is great for me as I’m a short person 😂. Pics below next to my Mexican Precision for size reference. Feels great to play and sounds good but the strings are too low tension for me so I’ll have to look into medium scale strings and the pickups seem a bit thinner/quieter so might look into those but overall it’s great.
