    Japanese Jazz bass 62 Medium scale and Japanese Aerodyne 32” . Mexican P bass next to Japanese Aerodyne Bass medium scale 32”

    Yeah I’m more of a P bass guy too but can’t find one in 32” scale that I prefer. I have a Japan JB62-M and an Aerodyne medium scale. I’m trying to get a more P bass sound by running in series. I have the push/pull to Parallel/series in the Jazz atm but it won’t fit in the Aerodyne as the cavity isn’t as deep to accommodate the depth of the push/pull. so far I’ve left the switch out all times on the J62M. Thinking about adding some different pickups in both basses though as read the Japanese pickups aren’t the greatest but the craftsmanship is up there with US basses in my opinion.

    From Lollar Jazz bass pickups description… ”Featuring vintage output and scatterwound coils for superior tone, the Lollar Jazz Bass style neck pickup offers a full, clear sound. We use RWRP technique for humbucking when combined with the bridge pickup. Wax potted and made with Alnico 5 magnets.” I was thinking of wiring this bass in series so both pickups act as one humbucker. what does RWRP mean as it says it’s makes it act like a humbucker? Anyone know?

    Do you have the dimensions of these please? it’s for a Made in Japan Jazz bass. Need the size of both bridge and neck pickups width and length including the plastic surround

    Ok need this gone asap. Its for sale between now and 10am tomorrow for £750 as I’m trying to come up with that figure for a Maine Coon cat my children have talked me into buying but only held until morning for us.

    A JB62M I bought through eBay from Japan just arrived. Quick play as I have a gig but seems great,just had to loosen the truss Rod a little and raise the strings a tad. Medium scale is my favourite scale now and selling my 34” basses (one left,it’s in the classifieds,Fender P American standard) Pleased so far but I’m a tinkerer and think I’m going to try some Quarter pounders in the Aerodyne as it’s for Rock and unsure what to put in the Jazz for Motown,soul with flats. Any recommendations?

    Think I’ve solved the head question. Is it a GR Bass pure amp 350?

    The guitar player in a band I’m in was telling me about a bass player he played with with a really small setup but sounded great. Its a 1x12 GR bass cab but what is the head/power amp? Also looks like a preamp pedal but no idea which.

    Yeah it does look a little thirsty. I like both but just wondered as they difference is noticeable. I use that stuff from crimson guitars on my Basses/guitars and always darkens them up a bit.

    Did they do 2 different fingerboard woods for the JMJ? Some I see have dark and some have lighter wood like yours. See what I mean below,some seem to have dark Rosewood and some look more like Pau Ferro or a light rosewood

    I just put it down to it being half the watts of the GK,but no way could the Hand Box R400 that I have keep up with clean headroom of the GK.

    But the volume has always been this way even before the HB light issue. I did wonder but thought I was turning up more because the knobs were linear or whatever the term is. I’ll have to find someone not too expensive to have a look maybe then.

    I was told it’s plenty loud enough as it’s class AB and not class D but my GK legacy is lots louder.

    Bass was at about 1 o’clock,treble 11 o’clock ,contour off. Gain around 1 o’clock and Colume from 2 o’clock to 3 o’clock

    I worry about the clean headroom on any outside gigs we do so I’ll probably have to use my GK for those but I like the sound of the HB head
