  1. I've built 2 using Warmoth parts. I used Gotoh bridges on both and put a bridge cover over them. ( the correct way round 😂 ) that way it doesn't matter if you use the period correct original 2 saddle design or not as no one will see it
  2. The used one is now sold but the unopened, boxed one is still for sale. I underestimated the postage for this so it will be £7 within mainland UK
  3. Im trying to figure out what's wrong between the diagram and the list of wires on the box as they match. 🤔 On the diagram I can see brown going to one side of the switch and yellow to the other. Then there's a red wire going to the volume pot. White, green and black go to the bottom of the switch and then onto the back of the volume pot.
  4. Jamie Lee Curtis' official title is Lady Haden-Guest
  5. I'm surprised that Gotoh didn't offer a Musicman / G&L version of the Resolite given that there were MIJ G&Ls and the Musicman EX series. Ultralites will leave visible screw holes but only you will see them, although you could use HB1 tuners. Not as light as the Ultralites but possibly lighter than the originals. Out of curiosity, how light is your Sterling that it has neck dive? Mine is 10lbs but feels lighter as the neck points slightly upwards so I never had an issue with neck dive.
  6. 10lbs but feels lighter than my 10lb jazz bass 🤔 Must be the illusion given off by the small body 😀
  7. Decided to gig this tomorrow night to see if I can dissuade myself from selling it 🤔
  8. As always, I am open to reasonable offers and if you are as OCD as I am I will do a deal if you want to buy both of them
  9. As always, I am open to reasonable offers which makes this post 6000 🙂
  10. I have a few tunes to learn for the weekend so I decided to get this out of it's case. I actually forgot how good it is so I had a lot of fun learning what would otherwise have been run of the mill tunes. As always, I am open to reasonable offers
  11. I was pretty late getting into graphite necks. I didn't know it at the time but when I bought my Status jazz neck a couple of years ago that it would be one of the last made. After many gigs with it, I've come to the conclusion that just dont like wooden necks anymore. This is part of the reason I've been selling my basses. Jazz, Stingray and Precision are probably going to be the most requested simply going by the sheer numbers produced. Having said that, if I could get a neck for my EBMM Sterling 4 then I would be keeping it.
  12. I think it was 2011 when they redid the Queen back catalogue. All they seemed to do was add more of Brian into the mix over the top of others things happening. However Queen I as it is now known is incredible. I bought it on vinyl as I have most of their albums on vinyl plus I really like their earlier stuff and was really impressed
  13. I had an active deluxe precision special in seafoam green from around 2011, which was rumoured to have come from the factory with a Geddy Lee neck as production had just moved to Mexico. The preamp stopped working so I changed all of it for EMGs and a BTS system which began my love of EMGs and how easy they were to install
  14. This is one of my favourite videos on YouTube with Abe Laboriel Sr on an 8 string Ibanez I think
  15. My wife is exactly the same. I've never been one for going clothes shopping or buying myself stuff so if I see something I like my wife is always supportive. The only prerequisite is that she needs to like it as well - no ugly basses or jobby brown finishes 😁

  18. This isn't necessarily the bass that you will receive as the seller looks like a drop shipper. i.e. they don't have this bass to sell and will order it from China when they sell one on Ebay. Probably cheaper to go straight to Aliexpress and buy one from there with a Fender logo on it
  19. I begin with volume all the way up, balance slightly towards the bridge and bass & treble centered. I then set my preamp pedal to how I like it. The EQ on the bass is just used to make small adjustments.
  20. I vividly remember reading an article in Guitarist magazine with Jack Bruce and he said that he didn't pick up his bass unless he was writing a song. At the time I couldn't imagine this as the first thing I did when i got home from school was plug in and play until tea time. Fast forward 38 years and I don't pick up my bass unless I have something to learn. Last year I took a year out after 30 years of constant playing and maybe picked up my bass a handful of times, only to make sure that I could still play. Regarding losing muscle mass as we get older - this is called sarcopenia and is though to begin when we're in our 30s. They can't work out if it's due to not moving as much in adult life as we did when we were kids or if it's just an age thing but it's a huge issue. This is why I train at the gym. I don't want to be Arnie and walk around like I'm carrying a roll of carpet under each arm, I'm doing it as a preventative measure to try to avoid being frail with arms like knitting needles and not able to walk the length of myself when I get old. This is another reason why protein is so important for everyone, not just people who go to the gym, as it can help slow this down as well. Just remember to eat plenty of fibre to keep it moving otherwise you can end up getting bunged up 😫🥴 I'm grateful that approaching 50 I am not on any medication as I know a lot of people, some younger than me, who are already rattling with what they have to take. I do currently take Turmeric & black pepper tablets in the morning, Creatine at 11am, fish oil and magnesium bisglycinate at tea time and zinc monomethionine before bed. Once great exercise I like to finish with at the gym is the farmer's walk. For me it's picking up 2 16kg kettle bells and walking as far as I can with them. Sounds crazy but if you think about it, we all do the farmer's walk carrying gear in and out of gigs so it keeps me in practice between gigs to keep the strength.
  21. Ive always been a believer in having to be physically fit to gig regularly. You often have to lift x number of times your own bodyweight in gear, set it up, stand for up to 4 hours playing a 10lb bass with a break in the middle to replenish your energy by beasting into the buffet, strip everything down, lift it back out to the car/van, drive home then unload it all into the house/garage. I'm coming up for 50 and want to gig for as long as i can so I'm at the gym 2-3 times a week. I walk all day at work and go walking at the weekends. Not to mention eating healthily and getting plenty of sleep.
  22. My Peavey 1995 Foundation Fretless. Fantastic sound. Bought to remind myself why I don't play fretless and now for sale 🙂 It's not that I can't play it, it's that it just doesn't suit my style of playing
  23. I’m having a big clear out of basses, strings and pedals. Pretty much anything that I am no longer going to be using so that I can reduce my collection to just 1 main bass, a back up and the pedals that I need. I bought this immediately prior to taking a year out from playing so it's never seen a gig since I bought it and still has whatever flatwounds were on it when I bought it. I had one of these bass in the early 90s and fancied another. Plus it was a cheap way to remind myself that I'm not very good on fretless and to stop eyeing up other fretless basses on the marketplace 😂 It has marks here and there consistent with a 34 year old bass and the volume and tone controls are a bit scratchy but I never noticed any noise when playing, only if you let a note ring out and then turn those controls. I will be supplying a gig bag with this as it didn't come with one. Looking at all of the other basses I'm listing it looks like I must have bought a job lot of Thomann gig bags as they appear next to each bass 🤔😁 I think that this is the lightest bass I have coming up for sale at a positively featherweight 7.8lbs. Collection preferred but I am happy for you to arrange a courier as I have plenty of packaging materials to ensure that this is well packed.
