  1. I’m an old Pbass guy. Mostly play short scales now , but recently picked up a med scale. So you never know …
  2. They seem to have let Mesa be.
  3. I’ve been a Dano user since the reissues appeared in the late 90’s. There was minor support when they first came out but that had vanished by the time they first moved production to China , and the old stock quickly disappeared. I went looking for a replacement wooden bridge , because they sound better than the adjustable ones. Eventually I found a Jerry Jones bridge from a fellow aficionado on TB. Love their basses , but the Evets company that owns the name sucks.

    Hi from Norway

    Beauties! Welcome Rolf!
  5. You can just see it through the burgundy here
  6. I’ve been using Deep Talking flats on most shortscales , I’m going to pick up some low tension ones to try them out.
  7. That’s a 77 4001 , that burgundy glo is not all that translucent. But it would be there.
  8. I had to read that to Herself.
  9. Canadian Tire after getting dicked around over a safety inspection.
  10. I love my NE-1 pedals to give practice amps a bit more thump at very low volume.
  11. Ringo risked life and limb every time he climbed up on his riser.
  12. An old friend was always quoting the title of his all time favourite review. “Old , fat, tattooed and boring”. he’s often introduce himself as that …
  13. Welcome ! I’m just a bit up the coast from you , I joined up because there was a lot of things that are common in Europe and the UK that have never really found a presence in North America.
  14. I just ordered an Aguilar bag. Doh !
  15. If you use it the inevitable is inevitable. So just enjoy it.
  16. The 4000 is a great rig. I thought I’d miss the neck pickup , but I didn’t , and there’s a lot to be said for two knob simplicity. I have the set neck version. In burgundyglo. And managed to snag it for a very reasonable price. I get stunned when I see what they fetch these days.
  17. My condolences , Paul. I just turned 72 , and seem to see more and more friends with various health issues. Many considerably younger than me. There’s more to this getting older than we were led to believe.
  18. I too did it the hard way. And that’s why I recommend a good teacher.
  19. I like the modular approach , and doing continuous upgrades as you go. (and when opportunity arises) Rigs are built up over time. I’ve bought and sold , and generally upgraded as I went. Picked up various amps and cabs to cover various needs. If I see a good local deal I might snap it up. I don’t have any allegiance to one company or product. There is a ton of great gear out there! I’m always looking.
  20. Being self taught is the long hard way to do it. It’s amazing what a good teacher can do.
  21. Camera bags come in all sizes and shapes.

    Hi people

Welcome , John! I try and keep a little cash stash handy in case of musical emergencies. And there have been times that I’ve been very happy to have that handy.
  23. Nobody expected it to have a flat back. It was a bit of a shock for them. So none of the various Cavern Bass reissues have been accurate.
  24. Agreed ! I’ve had to deal with several shifty bandleaders , and decided it was not worth the aggravation.
