Certainly a lot more interesting music than Metallica.

Probably, the Greasebucket circuit cuts both treble and bass when you roll it off, so you don't get the usual muddiness that would normally be expected by rolling off a normal Fender tone control. I wasn't a massive fan when I tried a Performer Jazz a few years ago, although the bass was pretty nice aside from that. The Yosemite pickups were very nice from what I remember.

It's a bit more than devil horns (watch from about 1:59:50) but I'm still more inclined to believe it's mocking rather than serious.

There definitely some interesting things said in it. Like when James is complaining about decisions being made overnight in his absence, and Kirk candidly reports "well now you know what the last fifteen years have been like for me". Robert Trujillo had some fecking stones on him to walk into that mess, even if they threw a big pile of cash at him.

They've been on record since as saying they really did him wrong and have massive respect for the way he handled them shitting on him for the fifteen years he was in the band; not to mention Lars basically admitting that the model Jason envisaged for Metallica as regards potential to do side projects etc is the one that exists now. So while he hasn't been in the band for 20-odd years his influence on them is still being felt.

I lived there for four years and apart from a select few pubs I avoided most of the ones in and around town.

I think you've mixed up the TE Elf (excellent, my one's glitches notwithstanding) and Warwick Gnome (also excellent I believe) 😀. My Elf sounds amazing with my Barefaced Two10S, and I definitely plan on adding a One10 for rehearsals and smaller gigs, as well as the rare occasion I want to play out loud at home.

Yep, I'm 6'2" and I can't really do a frets 1-4 stretch because of my tiny hands. I make up for it by shifting a lot.

Tomorrow's rehearsal cancelled as the father of our singist and drummist has passed away. I'm expecting next weekend's gig to be postponed as well, but obviously there are more important things in life than that.

I came across Newtone through Jon Gomm who recommended them for his acoustic set. I have a set on my acoustic guitar now and they sound great, even on a cheapy Indonesian Fender. Well, five of them do as I managed to snap one when installing them (the perils of being a bass player who can be a bit rougher, I guess) so one is a used Ernie Ball, but it all adds to the character or something.
